• Dear U.S. National Guard: WE THE PEOPLE Ask Of You To Do Your Duty And Arrest Congress
WE THE PEOPLE are being held hostage against our will by members of Congress by the means of this Government Shutdown. Those responsible need to be brought to trial in front of the Supreme Court to face charges of Negligence, Fraud, Corruption, taking the government hostage, Treason, and a host of other charges. It is the National Guards' duty to protect the people from threats such as this.

  • Require Clean CR and Debt Ceiling Bills
I am embarrassed by the behavior of our "representatives" and could not attend a scientific conference in Washington - the conference was cancelled due to the shut down.

  • Do NOT “Negotiate” Over Medicare and Social Security to End the Shutdown or to Raise the Debt Cei...
The extreme right wing of the Republican Party engineered the shutdown — and is further maneuvering to ransom the full faith and credit of the United States government — in a desperate ploy to force their radical, regressive policies on the Democrats, the American people, and the global economy. Now, Republican leaders like Paul Ryan are proposing “reforms” of Medicare and Social Security if only President Obama would deign to “negotiate” with them. If I steal your bicycle, and then tell you that I’ll only give it back if you let me keep the wheels and the handlebars, would it be reasonable for me to accuse you of refusing to “negotiate” because you want your bike back completely intact? This is not negotiation. It is not democracy. It’s kindergarten. And the radical right still doesn’t play will with others. Make no mistake, the Medicare and Social Security “reforms” that Paul Ryan and other Republican leaders have in mind include raising eligibility ages, cutting benefits, limiting participation or even excluding some seniors altogether, and, ultimately, privatizing both of these essential programs right out of existence. We simply must not allow this.

  • Respond to the Tea Party Shutdown of the Government and failing to raise the debt ceiling by appl...
US Code 2384 addresses acts which are against the law, specifically "or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States," The refusal by Congress to support, and vote on the funding of the Government and specifically the refusal to raise the debt limit fits into this category. As citizens we ask the Attorney General to address why this aspect of the code is not being applied to the parties who are committing this act.

  • Tell Congress to Put Their Money Where Their Mouth Is
Several of my friends are seeing entire communities effected by this, the second major fiscal failure of this Congress. For too long we have all stood by shaking our head in frustration feeling powerless in the face of the chaos of our alledged leaders. This great nation is quaking as our leaders permit scandel after scandel, then highjack our fiscal security. Nothing is going to change unless we speak out and insist on accountability and consequences.

  • Movement to Impeach House members
The entire nation is pretty sickened by members of the House of Representatives, who, represent Grover Norquist's interests, rather than the country's. Since when do those who swear to represent us, make blatant deals with outside interests, and shut our government down? Impeachment procedures can apply to Congress...so, let's stand up, be counted...and MoveOn it !

  • "Pay Cuts for Congress."
Mississippi has a number of federally funded facilities. There are 1000's of Mississippi Families feeling the hard economic challenges brought on by a Federal Government shut down. I think that it is the least Congress can do is to feel the same economic strains at home just as we do.

  • RESET America
The people running our government have indebted our future, misspent our fortunes, and continue to recklessly challenge each other with no regard for the people they represent. It's time to take back our country by getting rid of the "entitled power", and returning it to the values from which it was formed by entrusting it to people that have no better interest than their constituents in mind. When this government formed, there were no incumbents. Time to go back to that point. Time to "RESET America"

  • Texas Representatives: Give up Your Paycheck
It is a matter of justice. All members of the House and Congress should not get special privileges when there is a government shutdown. Now is the time that Texas representatives can literally put their money where there mouth is and show that they are able to stand along side federal workers who will not receive the paychecks they depend on to pay their bills and support their families.
