This country will stay the same way until We The People decide that we have to limit the terms that House and Senate members can serve. Today, Big Brother, is the House and Senators who are "Life Long Politicians" and who know every PAC member by first name and their family members, etc. They don't care about ANYTHING but getting re-elected. I don't care what party they call themselves, they are the problem, not the answer. Have them serve the Country for up to 8 years (if they can get re-elected) and then have them go back and get a "real job". These people who serve 10, 20 or 30 years are the problem. They don't care about anything except re-election. They refuse to compromise on anything except what their party tells them and they don't care about the needs of the Country. Is that attitude being any help to the Nation? NO! We should start a new party called the "Red, White and Blue Party" who's ONLY platform is to limit the amount of time a person can serve in the House or Senate. Why is the President able to only serve 2 terms and the House and Senate can stay forever (if they live that long). We also have to cut the benefits that House and Senate members get. They voted these benefits to themselves, We The People didn't give it to them. They should get SSI instead of all of their political "retirement" benefits. They should get health care that you and I get, not "HEALTH CARE FOR SENATE OR HOUSE" members ONLY! And the extra benefits they get when they leave office should go too. I also think we have to get rid of the Supreme Court Justices who are able to serve until they die. I understand why they did that but that has to stop. The Highest Court just ruled that ANYONE; any company, PAC or whatever can contribute any amount of money they want toward any person, party or topic they want. That totally takes out anyone who is NOT a member of the two biggest parties. So that limits who can win any election. The High Court just sold out America in favor of Big Business and the PAC's. They must go. Let's go "Red, White and Blue". We The People will will win in the end!

Texas is not progressing as fast as it could. We are on the bottom rung of the ladder in areas that we could definitely be in the forefront. Like education & health-care,just to name a few.

If Senators and Congressmen/women had to pay for their own health insurance and had their incomes cut when they retire, they may not be so quick to try saving our economy on the backs of the elderly, poor and sick.

I have been effected as has everyone in the US. No amount of negotiating is going to get this accomplished.

Gerrymandering or using a partisan process to design election districts is creating an ultra partisan government which hinders any progress on important issues. We urge you to develop and implement an impartial non-partisan process to help correct this issue. Let's get back to letting government work for the people!

Too many Congressional people make a career out of being in Congress. I feel they make more than most in our nation, have better benefits, more vacation time than should be. They have it better than our service people. The longer they are in the more they can work the system. Terms limits would give others a voice to be heard, not the career politition.

Our government is no longer for the people or by the people. Our Congressmen are only looking to keep their position, power and benefits!

I think we should demand that for the next presidential election we have preferential ballots. This way you can vote for whatever candidate you want no matter how minor they seem to be because your first and second choices are both counted. Therefore the candidate that wins will better understand what issues Americans really feel strongly about.

Make student loans dischargeable in bankruptcy petitions.

A congress person should be voted in for a term of no more then 4 to 6 years. They should not make it a life long career. They should be ban to lobby in Washington for 5 years after their term ends. Their health insurance and salary should only be cover only for their time in service and not for life.

Until every US citizen has universal access to healthcare, then taxpayers shall cease paying for healthcare for elected members of Congress or Govenors who can readily pay for own healthcare. End this financial burden on hardworking taxpayers now.

The US Congress, as it consists today is beholden to special interests. If members of Congress are restricted to one six year term in office they would weigh more carefully how they vote on bills and laws since they would be affecting their own lives directly when they return to the electorate.
