Stopping corporations and the rich from stealing America

This petition aims to intercept the power of the NRA which has a grip on our congress and senate. The only way we will enact meaningful gun control legislation is if we remove the NRA from the political landscape, for BOTH parties. Think about how Grover Norquist used the "power of the pledge" to get Republicans to commit to never raising taxes--we can use this power in a positive way, to get politicians to publicly commit, by signing a Pledge, to never taking another dime of NRA political contributions. The petition itself--and your signatures--will be used to persuade representatives who currently take NRA contributions to sign a simple pledge that states they will no longer do so.

The Second Amendment ties guns to national safety and defense. Own a gun? No problem! Join the National Guard, go through the training, background checks, psychological screenings and correct weapon handling procedures and help secure and defend your country domestically and abroad, if need be.

Congress is not doing their job just fighting among their selfs like children if we did that we would be fired. Take away their pay & Health care we need to show them they are accountable to the people.

Protect the Second Amendment without altering it in any way as another petition declares. The Second Amendment is sacred and as important to our Constitution as the First and without the Second in place, we will surely lose our First Amendment. Laws are on the books and must be enforced to ensure criminals who use firearms irresponsibly are punished to the fullest extent of the law each and every time.

After so many people have lost their lives in the past weeks, it's time to take a stand and stop the people who are killing. The easiest way to do this is to outlaw guns for civilians. Don't let people get their hands on the weapons that have taken so many lives and caused so much grief.

It is the issue that underlies all others: money--particularly from corporations--is undermining our democracy. The Supreme Court, most infamously through the Citizens United ruling, has given corporations constitutional rights meant for individuals, leading to unlimited, anonymous spending on elections, and outsize corporate influence on government. January's inaugural address is an historic opportunity to galvanize support for an amendment--one that clearly states that We, the People of the United States of America move to amend our Constitution to firmly establish that money is not speech, and that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights.

The amendment that give U.S. citizens the right to bear arms in our Nation's constitution must be modified for the safety of innocent people. We had experienced an outbreak of senseless murders and mass murders throughout this country unprecedented within a decade , due to unstable and reckless people owning guns, rifles, and military type of weapons. These evil killings must stop!

The U.S. has the largest number of mass deaths by individual rogue murderers in the western world. It is morally unconscionable for this nation to allow these weapons of mass destruction, which have most recently taken the lives of 20 elementary school children and 7 teachers.

In our current political climate, the 2nd Amendment will not be repealed. However, the Supreme Court will likely not interfere if individual states apply licensing requirements similar to those required to operate a motor vehicle. Since individual states control gun licensing, I am asking my state to take up the matter, and institute a reasonable set of prerequisites for gun ownership.

In Collier County and Tampa, I have been involved with police, sheriffs, and state troopers who acted Illegally because they knew that the only thing that could stop them, audio and video taping, could not be done-- unless you want a felony and jail term. We reject the wish of the state legislature as a violation of the constitution, and sheriffs, state troopers and the police will be taped and "outed" for crime.
