• US Congress: Bring consistency to voting
Consistency should be an American quality in the voting process. Instead, in many states voters are disenfranchised, the voting process is confusing/vague and votes are not counted expeditiously or efficiently. • 2 Year Terms for Senators and Representatives
Our Congress works less for the ordinary citizen, and more for what they can get. Has anyone noticed that they enter politics as average citizens and leave rich. Something is wrong with that.

  • Congress getting it done
I think that the Congress should start with themselves if they want the AMerican people to swallow the bitter medicine that is needed to cure the economy. The changes that are necessary to avoid falling off the fiscal cliff will be hard to accept, but if the legislators start by giving up some of their perks, the American people will fell better about accepting the necessary changes and realize that our Congress may truly interested in the good of the country, not just their own good. They need to ask"Is this for the good of the majority of the people?" And if so, vote for it. I am tired of all the game playing and self love from this body who is supposed to be governing for us.

  • Reform Campaign Contributions
Large contributions to political campaigns and candidates are essentially totally unproductive wastes of money. This could be changed if large contributions were required to be matched by equal contributions to the Federal government, specifically to reduce the national debt.

  • Terms for Congress and Senate. Not Careers.
The only way that I see the people of the United States getting the Country back is to stop the Congress and Senate from being a Career.

  • Reform the U.S. Federal election system
Presidential elections should be decided by the popular vote, not by the Electoral College system which is now outdated. The present system makes it possible for a candidate to win the election with less than 50% of the popular vote. Modern technology can ensure that the president is elected by the majority of voters.

  • Talking Filibuster
Obama needs to appoint judges, a Secretary of State, etc. The "silent filibuster" allows senators to block appointments and other business without disclosing their names. (Note that the first day of a new session is the only day to change the rules in the Senate.) Insist the the Senate reintroduce the classic "talking filibuster" on day one of the next session of congress.

  • NO More Super PACs!
Did you receive multiple emails a day during this election cycle, asking for money? I sure did. And it's the fault of the uber-rich right-wing super PACs. If they raise obscene amounts of money, what choice does the other side have but to try to match these dollars? Our elections should NOT be about money! The role of these super PACs in elections MUST be stopped.

  • Get MONEY'S INFLUENCE out of politics!
Before we can truly change the way our country is legislated, we have to change the influence of money in politics. Money's power must be reduced if not eliminated then our politicians' votes would be based purely on what they thought was right for our country instead of who they are indebted to.

  • GOP Election Tampering
The Secretaries of State of several states, Florida and Ohio to name two, actively participated in a GOP organized conspiracy to create roadblocks for Democratic voters within their states for the purpose of discouraging their participation in the election process.

  • Lee Terry excludes Bellevue to ensure victory
The Nebraska Legislature removed Bellevue from Nebraska's Second Congressional District and put Nebraska's oldest community into the First Congressional District. The Republican majority in the state legislature did this to shore up the republicans' chances in the Second Congressional District. Bellevue, which is democratically heavy, was replaced in the Second District by western Sarpy County, which is very republican. This ensured a victory by Lee Terry.
