• Kansas: No gun possession for domestic abusers.
I'm a Kansan, I believe that our gun laws need to be strengthened, and women who are in domestic violence situations are at a greater risk when her partner has a gun. It's past time to protect the victims of domestic violence, not the "second amendment rights" of the abuser.

  • Decline NRA Donation
The donation from the not-for-profit organization the NRA is viewed as a campaign donation and has no place in our government. Taxpayer revenue needs to be appropriated to adequately fund our Sheriff's Department. It is also insensitive to the 17 victims of gun violence to accept a donation from an organization that has actively worked against any meaningful gun control legislation, thus endangering the very citizens that you are charged to protect.

  • Demand the NRA fund shooting-related mental health treatment, education, and reseaerch.
Gun violence affects every person either directly or indirectly in the United States. Mental health services are sorely needed but inadequately funded. Private and public funding is needed to address the challenges gun-related mental health issues cause. As a major player in the gun debate, pressure must be exerted on the NRA for funds to address these needs!

  • Amazon: Stop selling guns and streaming NRA TV
As a long-time Amazon Prime member, I was appalled to find that Amazon Prime streams NRA TV. Let's ask Mr. Bezos to stop this practice and also stop selling guns and related supplies. Other companies are acting. Amazon, please do the right thing.

  • Vote for Strong Gun Control Candidates
I have an 8-year-old daughter and I want her to feel safe going to school, going to church, or going to any public event. Gun proliferation in America is out of control; too many loopholes in our current laws. We need to raise the minimum age to purchase a firearm to 21, have a minimum 5 day waiting period for all purchases, require all private transfers to be registered and to ban assault-style firearms and any accessories to turn them into automatic weapons.

  • Greater Gun Control
We are a group of students in a ninth grade history class, and we are concerned for our country. In order to secure our schools from shootings, we need gun control. We need to get people involved in spreading the word and create awareness all around. Not only does everybody need to work together to pass this law, but we also need to come to an agreement that using guns to harm others is extremely wrong and needs to be stopped. In order to do this, we need to enact stronger gun control laws across the nation. Overall we hope to raise awareness across America and hopefully get enough people involved that some kind of action is taken.

  • Tell your state legislators: Repeal NRA Laws Pushed by the American Legislative Exchange Council
The NRA has used the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) to push its extreme agenda with legislators dating back to at least 1988. For more than two decades ALEC made the NRA's lobbying agenda a national priority, with legislators voting as equals with the NRA on "model" bills behind closed doors. In the wake of the Trayvon Martin tragedy and the spotlight on the ALEC-NRA "Stand Your Ground" law in 2012, ALEC sought to distance itself from the NRA. However, ALEC has yet to do anything to repeal or rollback any of the dangerous gun legislation that they helped push into law on behalf of the NRA, like the laws pre-empting cities from adopting common sense gun laws to provide greater protections for children and adults. • Stop House Bill 746
Anyone who understands that any 'carry' law (carrying a concealed firearm) is only likely to have innocent people shot needs to step up and tell our legislature that doing so without a permit is only begging for a disaster.

  • Google: Stop taking advertising dollars from the NRA
This is the ad I received on the top of my Google search: NRA Membership - Official Site | Defend The 2nd Amendment | NRA.org‎ Admembership.nra.org/‎ Join the National Rifle Association. $40 Off Best Membership Rate and Free Gift. The NRA is not vested in defending our rights. They are vested in the greed of guns. Countless innocent people die daily from gun violence. Tragically, we can no longer go to the movies, school, the mall, or music festivals without the fear that a mass shooter is going to kill or maim us. We are no longer free, thanks to the NRA. Google should not accept money from and support such a deplorable organization. We cannot rest until our children are protected and can go to school without worrying about being the next mass shooting victim.
