• Gun Control
Statistics reveal that our country is much more violent than many other countries in the world which is a horrible reflection on our nation. Other developed nations have established gun control so we have examples to study as we can improve our country like they have done. Safety for all by limiting the guns available can happen with leaders who are committed to those which is what the majority of the country wants. Do we have to become worse than Yemen before we decide there is a problem? Hopefully not.

  • Tell Etsy to stop showcasing guns and gun art
Today when I opened my Etsy trends email I saw a picture of a Glock gun magazine connector. I never look at guns, so I was horrified to find this among my interests. Even worse, throughout the page of choices there were several offerings of gun-related merchandise. Some were overtly sexual. After the horrors of the recent school shootings, this made me heartsick. Is Etsy now part of the NRA gun culture? Tell Etsy to stop offering gun-related merchandise NOW! To see screenshots I took, please visit my site at www.olivialarosa.com.

  • Security in our shools
Getting security in our school to protect our children after a shooting threat and not 1 (one) law enforcement officer was on the scene. That's scary. We need them.

  • Teachers Won't Carry!
As a teacher of 20 years I know, as do my colleagues around the country, that a teacher's main responsibilities are to educate, love, and support her/his students. To ask any of us, in a gun-related crisis, to participate in the carnage and further endanger the students we so love is unacceptable. We are neither qualified nor willing to participate in such a short-sighted, ignorant policy that would ultimately add to the risk and to the loss of life in an already volatile situation. We demand that defensive, NOT offensive solutions be explored and implemented.

  • Stop the NRA Bribe Money
Stop the flow of money from organizations like the NRA to our legislators. Demand that the Supreme Court overturn "Citizens United", the Supreme Court decision that has allowed organizations like the NRA to unlimited amounts of money to the Congress and Senate. Unless the money is stopped nothing will change.

  • Gun Control
We want to leave our kids in a better and more safer environment in this world where teachers will be an icon of sympathy, knowledge, respect, and peace for our children. We have age limits on cigarettes and alcoholic beverages to not be purchased by minors because we believe they are not mature enough to understand their consequences, yet we do not have any restrictions to purchase assault weapons in that manner. It is sad and does not make any sense. Just because a few people speed we cannot disregard speed limits in the streets to allow it. It is not a solution but instead the beginning of another problem. Let's make our voice heard and stand up together for our rights.

  • School BOYCOTT starting March 26 if Congress FAILS us again on GUNS
No school employee or parent or student should be afraid some maniac will kill them with a machine gun. 15-minute walk-outs and marches are great but this first-ever national moratorium/strike/boycott against unsafe schools is the ONLY way to get a Congress who has been bought by gun manufacturers to pass common sense laws. Shame on Congress and SHAME ON US if we just let more students and school employees die without taking REAL action.

  • Petition Against Arming Teachers
We are high school students and we don’t think arming teachers is a practical solution. It doesn’t address the source of the problem, and it wouldn’t make us feel any safer.

  • Get the NRA off our TVs!
The NRA creates content that promotes conspiracy theories and racial violence and has blocked our country's ability to pass gun control policies which the entire country supports. They have a right to free speech, but there is no "right" to be on a streaming service. These mega-powerful CEOs must take a stand against the mega-power of the NRA, for the good of our country. From the New York Times: "With broadcast television-quality production and three dozen original series, NRATV has the ability to reach millions of people through the channels that distribute it like Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV. And it has significant resources at its disposal as part of the N.R.A.’s far-reaching “membership support” program. In recent years, that operation alone spent $35.5 million, according to its most recent publicly available tax filing." • Sign the petition: Support students' right to protest gun violence. No suspensions.
What started with survivors of the Parkland shooting has grown into a nationwide movement with incredible momentum—but some school districts want to stop it in its tracks and stifle students’ right to protest. A school district superintendent in Needville, Texas told students they would be suspended for three days if they participate in any school walkouts or protests to demand better gun laws. This is simply unacceptable. Students have a right to protest. Threatening young people with a three-day suspension if they vocally, publicly join the fight against gun violence is shameful. Sign now to tell school superintendents across the United States to support students’ rights to protest gun violence.

  • Sign the petition: I support the kids at Parkland, and deplore NRA apologists who attack them
The Parkland, Florida school shooting was an unspeakable tragedy that killed 17 students & teachers. The kids who survived this massacre are refusing to allow adult cynicism convince them that we will never pass gun safety reform. They are starting to organize politically, so now Republican politicians and NRA apologists want to discredit them. Yes, seriously. How low can they go in attacking survivors? Former Congressman Jack Kingston called them stooges for "left-wing groups who have an agenda," and Donald Trump Jr. has chimed in too. Sign the petition: I support the kids at Parkland, and deplore NRA apologists who attack them.
