There is too much gun violence in America. I want my representatives to support laws to control guns and stop the violence.

I'm sick and tired of people who have no business owning a gun killing people.

We need to stop the slaughter of innocent people caused by guns. Every country has mentally ill people, but only the USA has so many gun victims. I own three guns and do not want guns taken away, but sane and sensible laws need to be passed, and the stranglehold the gun lobby has on our politicians needs to be stopped.

88 Americans are killed by gun violence every day in this country, with hundreds more injured. We're tired of waiting for Congress to act on gun violence. That's why Everytown for Gun Safety just sent President Obama five straightforward actions the White House can take to help curb gun violence, save lives, and reduce crime without waiting on Congress. We know President Obama is open to these ideas, but to overcome the NRA's aggressive opposition, we need to send an overwhelming message that we want real action NOW. Gun safety laws cannot be ignored. Gun control must happen and happen now.

I am sick of how we are getting used to these horrific crimes while we do nothing to control the types of guns being sold, how they are sold, and how it is way too easy for them to get into the wrong hands--especially of our youth.

No one seems to be proposing the one most effective approach to reducing the slaughter: gun registration.

The insanity of thinking people need guns to protect themselves. With the exception of law enforcement, no one needs a gun much less an automatic weapon.

How long can we continue to hear about innocent people being killed by mentally unstable individuals with access to guns? It's time our elected representatives listen to their constituents' concern about gun violence and stop being afraid of the IRA and gun manufacturers.

I was affected by this when my Aunt was killed by her son accidentally. He intended to kill his father for beating his mother. The father pushed the gun aside and killed his mother instead. His life was ruined after that incident.
