I am starting this petition to protect the Affordable Care Act / Obamacare and also to ensure that the public knows that the Republicans have caused many of the law´s implementation problems. Democrats need to stop apologizing for the health care website problems. They should immediately go on the offensive and do two things. 1- Publicly shame the Republicans who have tried to dismantle, defund or otherwise harm the Affordable Care Act / Obamacare; and 2- Clearly articulate the benefits of the law. There are 100s of video clips that show rabid Republicans gleefully bragging about how they will dismantle Obamacare and wishing that it would fail. The public needs to see these so that they can understand the duplicitous nature of the Repulicans on this issue. I strongly believe that if Democratic leaders across the nation, including President Obama and an unleashed Vice President Biden, came out fighting- with "guns blazing" - for the health care law and against the Republicans, it would invigorate Democrats and potentially re-set the national discourse to focus on the benefits of the law and help educate the public.

I have lived in Chronic Pain since 1997. I have personally experienced a life while on pain medication vs. a life without. A life without pain medication is the same as no life. I am unable to participate in my life or even care for myself, my home and my family. It has became increasingly hard if not impossible to received any type of pain management. For those who live in Chronic Pain it is the same as some kind of war torture. We fall into a depression as the pain takes away our joy for life. The Politicians need to realize that these folks aren't the problem and quit punishing us.

California State Retirees is a non-profit organization that was part of the group that originally fought to establish retiree healthcare for thousands of state employees. And yet now CSR is fighting against providing that same benefit for its own employees. The employees of California State Retirees and affiliates have been working without a contract for 19 months. At the bargaining table against its own employees, CSR and its affiliates have refused to consider any proposal that includes retiree healthcare for any new employees, even though it wouldn't cost them a penny for at least a decade. The employees of California State Retirees fight every day for their members' right to retiree healthcare and yet they are told that they do not deserve that same right. Sign our petition and call on the California State Retirees to bargain in good faith and fight FOR its employees, not against them!

I am a physician and a veteran. Electronic prescriptions are a great improvement in the care of my patients. There are no mistakes due to handwriting and the prescription is usually ready by the time the patient reaches the pharmacy. Because the prescription is already in electronic form, it is easier for the pharmacy and reduces mistakes by pharmacy staff. Our veterans deserve all the care we can give. Military pharmacies should accept electronic prescriptions.

The elections are right around the corner. Make this an issue now. to help support Obamacare!

The Mehlmaur Bill - House Bill 1898 for Massachusetts - Now on Facebook @ Massachusetts Health Option, is unique; it will enable a person seeking holistic/naturopathic treatment to be covered comprehensively by health insurance. In New Hampshire a similar law was passed providing coverage for naturopathic treatment; however the patient has to pay a significant amount of out-of-pocket expenses for the prescribed treatments. What we would like to see in Massachusetts is more practical coverage. We say practical because only covering a portion of the naturopathic/holistic practitioners visit is just a first step towards proper treatment. These natural solutions have significant healing aspects and there is enough food science to support these claims. By only covering a portion of the office visit a patient is left facing the cost of their portion of the visit, their “health insurance” premiums, and the treatment prescribed which often requires supplements, organic fruits and vegetables, and “superfoods”. Since currently none of the natural treatments are covered by insurance, a patient faces the full cost of these therapies. An insurance company will spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on pharmaceuticals, surgeries, and other toxic therapies which only treat symptoms. Natural/holistic treatments heal the root cause, teach patients to care for their bodies, and create an overall lifestyle change which promotes the health of a patient for life thereby reducing the need for medicine, surgeries, and the typically “accepted” course of aging in America. The Mehlmauer Bill will give people a choice; a choice which is currently not available to those with a limited income. We believe Massachusetts should be the leader and set the example for an overhaul of the traditional treatment options available in our “modern” medical system. Instead of seeing healthcare as surgery, drugs, and procedures, let’s offer an alternative. We believe that the healing process starts with a choice. This bill will enable the patient to have more options, to have more control, to truly have choices in their medical care, their treatment plans, their healthcare options. Since we’ve been petitioning, an overwhelming majority of people have said they support this concept and love that it would give them a choice. Help us help our state; let us give the people an alternative view on medicine, on healthcare, on the healing process all together. Let’s give them a choice.

My son has a disease called Cystic Fibrosis. There is no cure but there are life extending treatments. Many of these are out of his reach because health insurance that would cover them is too expensive. He is one of the 40,000 working low income Alaskans who need the ACA Medicaid expansion so that they can access health care. The Alaskan economy depends on these hard working people in industries including fishing, tourism, retail and food service. All Alaskans, regardless of income, deserve equal access to health care without incurring back breaking debt or being a burden to the community. Health care is a right, not a privilege.

We need to make our voices heard by Attorney General Schuette and to get some action for the hundreds of victims and family members of victims that have been hurt and killed by Doctor Farid Fata. To date Bill Schuette has responded with nothing but boiler plate responses that don’t address what the issues really are. Bill Schuette is not a victims rights advocate as his political propaganda advertises him to be. We need Bill Schuette to step up to the plate and do the job that he was hired to do!

United Healthcare is dropping thousands of primary care physicians and specialists from Medicare Advantage plans and as of February 1, 2014, hundreds of thousands of senior citizens will not be able to see their physicians and these doctors will not be able to provide care to these patients. Continued high quality uninterrupted Healthcare of senior citizens in our state should be top priority and this action must be stopped.
