• STOP Toxic Rx Drug LUPRON
I am a Legal Advocate and Consultant for victims of injustices and an author and Crusader since 1989 when I founded Women Fight Back helping victims fight back against serious injustices. Lupron can be disabling and deadly. There are 5,000 complaints filed with Congress and they've ignored the 12,000 victims without a cure, so it's extremely important that the labeling be addressed and serious studies be published with the hope of taking this toxic drug Lupron off the market.

  • Initiative to have Psychiatric Telemedicine Units Implememented in Rural Communities in Louisiana...
In Louisiana there are many rural residents who are being offered zero mental healthcare because of things like lack of facilities. Our governor has made budget cuts across the board on mental health provisions the state offered and now there is very little to none for rural residents. People need access to mental healthcare and their medication. With Psychicatric Telemedicine a new innovative way to do mental health therapy sessions and prescribe medications via computer but face to face in real time. Many states are using it for their rural citizens with great success. Mental health should be a priority for the oppressed, underserved, restricted residents living in at or below the poverty line, just as much as it is for people who can afford through insurance their mental healthcare maintenance. This is a great solution to the problem La. is facing due to conservative budget cuts that eliminated the mental health programs the residents used to rely on.

  • Prioritize legislation that provides stricter controls on gun trafficking: Remembering Tysean
On November 6th 2013, 15 year-old Tysean Williams was shot multiple times by two armed men shortly after coming to his grandmother's aide in his home in Rochester, New York. As a result, Tysean died from his injuries a short while later despite being rushed to hospital. These assailants were armed with guns they likely obtained illegally. He was an honor roll student in his sophmore year of high school. He was also a neighbor that grew up with my brothers and was like another brother to me. He was a quiet, bright young man with his whole future ahead of him but his life was cut short as a result of preventable gun violence. Stronger gun trafficking laws need to be enforced! It's important to let our elected officials know where we stand on this issue because too many of our youth are dying as a result. We need to figure out what WE can we do to stop this alarming trend. -Sign this petition and share it with your family & friends -Reaching out to your local & state legislators and representatives -Come together as a community and organize rallies and round table discussions to discuss how to stop the violence in the community and how to get illegally obtained weapons off the street -Encourage & advocate partnership between community businesses and organizations and local schools; better education is a key piece of the puzzle -Speak out about the need for improved community involvement whether it be block by block or neighborhood by neighborhood. Maybe this can be done neighborhood watch initiatives, neighborhood clean-up programs, adopt-a-block programs, weapon drop off events or larger scale initiatives such as the creation of a city-wide anti-violence coalition Let's start caring about each other and our youth. We can change the outcome but we need to see ourselves as the solution! • Vote Yes for Medical Marijuana
We, the citizens of Wisconsin, demand the State of Wisconsin to legalize cannabis. This is not a Republican or Democrat issue, this is a human rights issue. The U.S. Patent Office issued patent #6630507 to the U.S.Health and Human Services filed on 2/2/2001. The patent lists the use of certain cannabinoids found within the cannabis sativa plant as useful in certain neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and HIV dementia. Since the U.S. Government agrees that marijuana has medicinal value, it should be the states right as well as the citizen there of, to be able to access cannabis in a safe and legal way.

  • PA School Children Should Have Preventive Dental Care provided in school
In 2010, the Pew Foundation published a report on the state of children's dental care in the US. PA earned an "F" on that report. In response, then governor, Ed Rendell, pushed for the creation of the Public Health Dental Hygiene Practitioner license, to create a mid level provider who is licensed to provide dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants and education in schools, nursing homes, and other places where citizens have not had access to care. There are now >400 licensed PHDHP's in PA who want to provide care to our most vulnerable citizens. However, there is no provision for these PHDHP's to submit a claim to an insurance company for payment of their services. The claims must be submitted with a dentist's license. This creates a restriction in the PHDHP's ability to provide care they are licensed to provide, creates a middle man that adds cost to the provision of these services, and keeps children from getting preventive dental care. We need your intervention to change this silly restriction. Dentists haven't wanted to treat these citizens. The restrictions should be removed to allow PHDHP's to provide important preventive dental services to children.

  • Keep Health Care Services Free of Religious Ideology
As more secular hospitals merge with religiously affiliated ones, nearly 50% of WA state hospital beds are now controlled by Catholic ideology that prohibits contraceptive counseling and contraceptive methods including condoms, birth control pills, IUDs, vasectomies and tubal ligations; and that prohibits fertility assistance, abortion and end of life "death with dignity", all of which are legal in WA State. Non-Catholics and Catholics alike increasingly find themselves in situations in which the only health care available is subject to these restrictions dictated by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops. WA State has the highest percentage of religious control of hospital beds in the U.S. and its continuing to increase (26% in 2010, 45% so far in 2013). Some business owners refuse to include the same legal health care services in their company's health insurance plans. Some pharmacy owners refuse to dispense certain legal contraception products. Some health care providers continue to discriminate against LGBT families. It's time to say, "Stop!" We believe that in medical care, the patient's rights must come first for all residents of our state

  • Hold Republicans Responsible for Sabotaging Obamacare / Affordable Care Act Implementation
I am starting this petition to protect the Affordable Care Act / Obamacare and also to ensure that the public knows that the Republicans have caused many of the law´s implementation problems. Democrats need to stop apologizing for the health care website problems. They should immediately go on the offensive and do two things. 1- Publicly shame the Republicans who have tried to dismantle, defund or otherwise harm the Affordable Care Act / Obamacare; and 2- Clearly articulate the benefits of the law. There are 100s of video clips that show rabid Republicans gleefully bragging about how they will dismantle Obamacare and wishing that it would fail. The public needs to see these so that they can understand the duplicitous nature of the Repulicans on this issue. I strongly believe that if Democratic leaders across the nation, including President Obama and an unleashed Vice President Biden, came out fighting- with "guns blazing" - for the health care law and against the Republicans, it would invigorate Democrats and potentially re-set the national discourse to focus on the benefits of the law and help educate the public.

  • Please Help People With Chronic Pain
I have lived in Chronic Pain since 1997. I have personally experienced a life while on pain medication vs. a life without. A life without pain medication is the same as no life. I am unable to participate in my life or even care for myself, my home and my family. It has became increasingly hard if not impossible to received any type of pain management. For those who live in Chronic Pain it is the same as some kind of war torture. We fall into a depression as the pain takes away our joy for life. The Politicians need to realize that these folks aren't the problem and quit punishing us.

  • California State Retirees: Reinstate retiree healthcare for all of your employees!
California State Retirees is a non-profit organization that was part of the group that originally fought to establish retiree healthcare for thousands of state employees. And yet now CSR is fighting against providing that same benefit for its own employees. The employees of California State Retirees and affiliates have been working without a contract for 19 months. At the bargaining table against its own employees, CSR and its affiliates have refused to consider any proposal that includes retiree healthcare for any new employees, even though it wouldn't cost them a penny for at least a decade. The employees of California State Retirees fight every day for their members' right to retiree healthcare and yet they are told that they do not deserve that same right. Sign our petition and call on the California State Retirees to bargain in good faith and fight FOR its employees, not against them!
