Governor Corbett: Accept Federal Medicaid FundsOver the last few months, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett has indicated that he has no intention of accepting new federal dollars to expand the state's Medicaid program. If he rejects these funds, over 542,000 Pennsylvanians will be uninsured. In recent months, Republican governors across the country have been changing their minds and accepting Medicaid dollars. Corbett has no excuse now and is doing nothing more than hurting those most in need in Pennsylvania. Tell Governor Corbett to accept federal Medicaid dollars and protect the over 542,000 Pennsylvanians that would benefit.9,402 of 10,000 SignaturesCreated by Kim McMurray

MaineCare for College StudentsThis petition is about college students loosing their MaineCare when they have limited sources of income as they are trying to benefit their lives. It is tough to know that I am 20 years old and almost to the age where I will get dropped from my insurance. The fact that they are dropping the age to 19 is making it even tougher on college students. Think before changing the age of MaineCare. Please, college is expensive enough without having to pay for school insurance which has its limitations.20 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kapricemari Tompkins

Retinstate $15 billion to CA Health and Human ServicesIn the past 3 years the state of CA has cut $15 billion in services to the most vulnerable low income disabled and elderly. Cuts to programs such as In Home Support Services for the home bound and disabled and Medi-Cal (Medicaid in CA), have brought devastating results. I suffer from non-HIV AIDS and have lost long time good care caregivers as a result of the cuts. Because of this loss I contracted a severe skin parasite as I had to turn to an unqualified volunteer to help me who was not conscientious about telling me if he had anything contagious wrong with him. Also due to the privatization of MediCal into managed care I no longer have a doctor as the managed care company does not allow home visits as I am completely home bound.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sumitra

UCLA, stop robbing your patientsUCLA Medical Center is charging patients a $150 "hospital facility fee" for every regular visit to their doctor's office. I have several health issues and see 3 specialists on a regular basis at UCLA and have thousands of dollars in fees I cannot afford to pay. With more than 200 doctors only seeing a mere 10 patients a week, UCLA is making $300,000 per week at a bare minimum from this fee alone.45 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Wendy Blommendahl

High CopaysThe New York Physical Therapy Association (NYPTA) is calling on the state legislature to stop insurance companies from requiring patients to pay the higher “specialist" copay for physical therapy services. Some patients are paying as much as $50 per visit while their insurance may only pay $10, or even nothing at all. High “specialist” copays put physical therapy out of the financial reach of many patients, forcing them to forgo needed care or choose alternative options that drive up the cost of health care for everyone.246 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Bibiana Braun

California Healthcare Cost and Billing ActCharges for medical services bear little relation to cost to the provider, and vary widely, often hitting the most vulnerable hardest. Without notice the patient receives an outrageous bill. Current state law has somehow not protected victims of the abuses. That law should be clarified. Medical providers not complying with law should forfeit.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Steve Lawrence

Help Save AIDS FundingIn recent years, HIV/AIDS programs both in Massachusettes and nationwide has been severly underfunded by the State and Federal Governments. Last year in Massachusettes alone, the State Legislature voted to have no increases in spending even though many programs throughout the state were suffering from the cut-backs made to their budgets. This alone made many programs face the decision of whether to cut-back on services to clients or shut their doors to them completely. This is unacceptable as their was actually an increase in the HIV infection rate in Massachusettes and nationwide. My service agency in Boston (The largest Service Agency in the State) had too cut back on transportation to doctors appointments, Court Apperances, Housing Assistance, Case Management, Needle Exchange, Educational Programs and other services to their clients. I am suffering from the devestating effects of this disease, which is complicated by a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. Last year, many people had to go without the services that they have come to rely upon in previous years (ie Mobile Health Clinics, Transportation, Case Management etc.) due to the decisions of the people that we have put into office. Please join me in fighting back on these choices and say to our elected officials that this disease is still a major issue. Let your voice be heard that HIV/AIDS programs and services need to be fully funded rather than sending our dollars to other countries to bail them out of THEIR PROBLEMS.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Philip High
