Accessible and Affordable Healthcare for allI work with the working poor of Iowa, and daily see their inabilities to receive adequate medical and dental care for themselves and their families. IowaCare does not meet the needs of those who have very limited transportation and access to regional care in Des Moines and Iowa City.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Judy Janning

Treatment and Rehabilitation for Victims of Sexual Assault and RapeMy son Jake was given GHB, the date rape drug, at the age of 13 then sexually assaulted and raped while on a camping trip with his soccer team. His rapist was his soccer coach who is also a secret service agent. This continued for 6 years without anyone knowing or stopping it and Jake turned to drugs to heal his pain. We went to the police for help because Jake was over the age of 18 and police told us we needed him to get arrested so he could receive the help he so desperately needed. He has been arrested and he is not receiving treatment or counseling. Jake needs treatment and compassion for the crimes that have been committed against him. We need help before May 2nd, 2013.60 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Beth Fisher

Prevent testing of anthrax vaccine in US childrenDHHS has had two federal advisory committees make recommendations on testing anthrax vaccine and other medical countermeasures in children, since 2011. The immediate goal is to expand the vaccine license to include children, and to increase the civilian vaccine stockpile. The vaccine might be used routinely in children, in future. However, antibiotics are the effective treatment of choice in an anthrax attack. Antiserum and monoclonal antibodies could be used in the event of antibiotic resistance. Vaccine, of unknown effectiveness, would only start to be useful 40 days after immunizations were begun. Why the government has spent billions on a large anthrax vaccine stockpile makes no sense. The US anthrax letters were determined (by the FBI) to come from the supply of a US army scientist. The US has never been attacked by a foreign enemy with anthrax. There is no credible evidence of an anthrax threat to US children. For these reasons, plus the existence of federal statutes and case law that prohibit testing dangerous products in children, who cannot give informed consent, this pediatric trial should not even have been considered. But DHHS has ignored these prohibitions and wishes to proceed with a pediatric trial regardless. Please read the Alliance for Human Research Protection (AHRP)'s report to the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues, which is advising Secretary Sibelius on this anthrax vaccine experiment, at http://www.ahrp.org/cms/images/stories/articles/children_anthraxvaccine_moral_cliff_final_2-28.pdf Please sign our petition and help get the word out! WHOSE children will be selected for this dangerous anthrax vaccine experiment, and for future "countermeasures" experiments? Enforcing Medical Rehabilitation RightsSince 1990, MY Wife has been trying to recover from NERO-Surgery! She was on Medicaid, at one time, until MEDICARE became primary INS., when it caused her Medicaid to become inactive! This has also caused HER to have several setbacks, and now being left BEDFAST, here at HOME again! What good are laws, if we cannot get them enforced? For more details, Email me: [email protected] Thanks P.S. Nursing houses have not helped her either; instead they tried to get me to leave HER there, so after 100 days, they can start taking HER Disability check!1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Herbert A. Tell the FDA: No Unlabeled Sweetener in Dairy! The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) and the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF), have filed a petition with the FDA to alter the definition of "milk". They are seeking to change the definition such that it will include potentially dangerous chemical sweeteners such as aspartame and sucralose, without the need to list such ingredients on the label. This means that if the petition is approved, when a company lists "milk" on the label, it will automatically include chemical sweeteners such as aspartame or sucralose without being specifically listed. Accordingly, if you are among the millions of Americans who choose to avoid such chemical sweeteners because they are potentially dangerous to your health, then you may be unable to do so because they will not be listed on milk labels. -- Paul A. Implement the Affordable Care ActGov Bentley, why won't you take federal dollars to implement the Affordable Health Care Act in Alabama? As a retired Air Force nurse I know what a community receiving preventative health care looks like because in the military everyone has government subsidized health care.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Liz Campbell

Governor Perry: Allow the Medicaid expansion to go forward in the state of TexasTexas has the highest proportion of the population living at or below the minimum wage in the nation. The expansion will help Texan's receive the care that they NEED, at lower cost, and without raising taxes on Texan's. We demand Governor Perry allow the expansion to go through as Republican Governor Chris Christie recently allowed in New Jersey.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Brandon Alsobrook
