Ricardo shouldn't be torn apart from his family!Michelle will be forced to spend her 12th birthday saying good-bye to her Dad, instead of spending it with him and the rest of her family like most kids her age. That's because immigration officials in the Obama Administration have decided to deport Michelle's dad, Ricardo Ramos. He has until Thursday to leave, the very same day as her birthday. Ricardo has called Ohio his home for nearly two decades and has three U.S. citizen children, yet ICE officials want to tear his family apart by deporting him. If ICE officials go through with Ricardo's deportation, Ricardo's family will be devastated. He's a loving dad and is the sole breadwinner in the family, recently taking on a second job in a restaurant in addition to the 16 years he's spent working in local nurseries. When police pulled Ricardo over for driving without a license, they sent him to ICE officials. Friends and supporters got Ricardo's initial January 1, 2014 deportation date postponed, but now ICE officials have set a new date to deport him just a few days away. We need your help returning him to his family! Ricardo would likely qualify for the path to citizenship in the Senate immigration bill and President Obama's Administration shouldn't be pushing hardworking, taxpaying Americans like Ricardo for Speaker John Boehner's inaction. In fact, because President Obama supports the Senate's bill, he shouldn't be deporting immigrants like Ricardo at all. Please help Ricardo by asking ICE officials to exercise "prosecutorial discretion" and let Ricardo return home to his family where he belongs. They need you to act right now! Michelle shouldn't spend her birthday being torn away from her dad. Help Ricardo stay where he belongs, at home!3,278 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

ICE: Use Prosecutorial Discretion to keep Lesbia Gonzalez Contreras (A #200-113-292) with her 4-y...Lesbia will separated from her 4-year-old son, Anthony, and 4-month-old daughter, Melanie, on January 16, 2014, if the community doesn’t stop her deportation! You can help keep Lesbia with her two small children. She is a loving mother of Anthony and Melanie, both of whom are U.S. citizens. Lesbia has lived in Virginia since 2005. She has worked really hard all of these years to provide for her children and to see them go to school. Her dream is to see her son and daughter go to college. In 2013, Lesbia was heading to work when she was pulled over in Virginia. She had a drivers license from Maryland, a neighboring state, but the Virginia police officer did not consider it to be valid. She was taken to ICE where Lesbia was put in Deportation Proceedings. She does not have a criminal record. Please help keep Lesbia with her children!405 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Jose Patino

Unfair DeportationMy son-in-law, who has been in this country since he was a teenager, was racially profiled, stopped, and arrested in the small town of Fincastle, Virginia where they promptly notified I.C.E. and had a detainer placed on him. Less than 3 weeks later, he was dropped in a Mexican border town without ever having appeared in front of a judge and without signing a voluntary removal document. These types of deportations are happening at a rate of 1,100 per day and must be stopped!! I.C.E. and local authorities are intentionally profiling immigrants to boost their numbers instead of spending their resources to deport terrorists and felons who are a serious threat to our nation. They are showing a blatant disregard for the President's executive order to only deport "high priority immigrants" and to use discretion when dealing with aliens with strong family and community ties to America. I.C.E. must be stopped!213 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Sheila Mercado

KEEP GUSTAVO HOME! HELP STOP HIS DEPORTATION!KEEP GUSTAVO HOME! HELP STOP HIS DEPORTATION! On November 19th 2012, Gustavo Dodier was driving home when he was pulled over for not using his headlights. Not One More DeportationIn the fight for a commonsense immigration process, we’re up against a patchwork of broken policies and Congress that’s stalling. In the meantime, this holiday season and every day, families need relief. No matter their status, families should be together during the holidays. Every day, about 1,000 families are separated by deportations, often under questionable law enforcement practices. Dads who have a broken taillight are getting pulled over and deported, forced to abandon their children. Mothers walking on the streets in their states are racially profiled and sent to countries they haven’t lived in for decades, worried they may never see their children again. And even U.S. citizens are being deported. This week, the Department of Homeland Security welcomed Jeh Johnson as its new secretary. Secretary Johnson could stop the deportation policy the Obama administration has been practicing, giving real hope to new American families. DHS is tearing families apart because it’s following the Obama administration's self-imposed and arbitrary deportation quotas. Those quotas are keeping families apart for the holidays and turning DHS’s attention away from keeping us safe from real threats.52 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rachel LaBruyere, AFL-CIO

Speaker Boehner: LET THE HOUSE VOTE ON THE IMMIGRATION BILLBecause there is no way to force Speaker Boehner to allow a vote on this Bill, even though it has enough votes in the House to pass. Americans, including conservative economists, religious leaders, businesses and the AFL-CIO all support Immigration Reform. Good, hard working people can stay and we can identify the ones who should not be here through this law. Our country cannot wait any longer for economic, moral, and National Security reasons.260 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Susan Pai

No father should be deported for driving to work!Ardani Rosales Lemus (A#098-918-011) has been detained since December 2012. He has spent almost a year away from his family, a year in which he missed two important events in his life: his own wedding and the birth of his second child, a beautiful daughter which he hasn’t been able to hold in his arms. He will now spend the holidays in a cell, just for coming to an amazing country for an opportunity for a better future to escape Guatemala where his life was in risk. Adarni was pulled over for a minor traffic violation and was placed in deportation proceedings. His family has been in the U.S. since 2005, they came to escape the fear of death they faced in Guatemala. Back in his hometown in Guatemala, Adarni organized youth to stay out of gangs and trouble. But his dangerous work led to multiple threats from one of the most powerful gangs in the world -- they even badly beat him up. In 2005, Adarni and his family fled for their lives to the U.S. They fear returning to Guatemala -- that's why they are seeking asylum here. But back in 2012, Ardani was pulled over for a minor traffic violation on his way to work and was placed in deportation proceedings. He is one of the 11 million that needs Congress to act now and deliver real immigration reform that will allow him and others to earn a pathway to citizenship and real relief from deportation. Adarni has spent almost a year away from his family, a year in which he missed two important events in his life: his own wedding, and the birth of his second child, a beautiful daughter he has yet to be able to hold. He will now spend the holidays in a cell, just for coming to a country that could offer him and his family safety and an opportunity for a better future. Please join us in telling Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials to stop Adarni's deportation. No father should be deported for driving to work and caring for his family!1,834 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

Congressman Keating: Extend Dr. Bharani's Visa Now!Dr. Padmanabhan holds an MD-PhD (summa cum laude). The PhD is in Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Padmanabhan was admitted into the US on a J-1 visa in 1996 in order to pursue Residency Training in Neurology. The J-1 visa comes with a requirement to serve in a Medically Underserved Area before qualifying for a Green Card. He finished his Neurology Residency and then completed a 3-year research fellowship, after adjusting his visa status to an O-1. The O-1 visa is for Aliens with Extraordinary Skill and Ability. It requires high degrees and expertise and is renewable for life, but the 3-years in a Medically Underserved Area are still required. He was completing his 3-years in a Medically Underserved Area and would have qualified for a Green Card in June 2011. He actually worked in that area for 4 years, but due to paperwork delays by the hospital who employed and sponsored him, he lost one year. Due to circumstances still in dispute, he has been unemployed since November 2010. Dr. Padmanabhan is still subject to the 3-years work in a Medically Underserved Area before he can adjust to Permanent Residency. The tragedy is he has already served 3 years but he has not received credit for it. Congress has the absolute authority to grant Permanent Residency to Dr. Padmanabhan and his family. Given the time constraint, getting Immigration to extend his visa would be immensely helpful. Many of his patients have banned together to appeal to Congressman Keating. We also have a paper petition that we are circulating. It doesn't matter if Congressman Keating is YOUR congressman or not - he can help! Thank you.246 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Sonya Brite
