I feel that the government is targeting the wrong people to deport. American is built by its immigrants moving into this country and enriching it with its diversities. If we force families to split and destroy hard working people by sending them away, what message is America sending. Deport the immigrants that have committed crimes out of the country, not heard working people that have done nothing wrong but sought refuge in us when they were in need.

Where is Speaker Boehner? For three weeks, a group of activists have been praying and going without food in plain view of the Capitol building in order to call attention to the House's inaction on immigration reform. Surviving only on water, the fasters--led by SEIU, immigrant rights and labor leader Eliseo Medina--have already received personal visits from President Obama, Vice President Biden, and Republican members of Congress, including Rep. Jeff Denham and Rep. David Valadao. During these three weeks, as the fasters get weaker and weaker, the leader of the House -- Speaker John Boehner -- is nowhere to be seen. Every day that Speaker Boehner refuses to allow a vote on immigration reform means another 1,100 aspiring Americans will be ripped apart from their families and communities. Speaker Boehner should visit the fasters and commit to a vote on immigration reform. These longterm fasters and thousands of other solidarity fasters across the U.S. are taking desperate measures in order to stand up for the 11 million aspiring Americans the House has neglected. These fasters deserve a personal visit from Speaker Boehner and a pledge from him to act on reform.

Hector is the father of two young United States citizens and the sole provider for his family, but immigration officials in the Obama administration are planning to deport him on Friday, Nov. 29 -- the day after Thanksgiving. Please join us in telling ICE director, John Sandweg, to stop Hector's deportation. Help us keep this family together. Hector was racially profiled by immigration officials, while driving to a weekly bible study group in a neighbor's home with his family and friends. He was arrested by ICE in front of his family in the yard where the bible study takes place. This is an absolutely outrageous and unconstitutional arrest and Hector's pending deportation violates the Obama Administration's own prosecutorial discretion policies. Immigration officials have gone way too far. Their overaggressive racial profiling raids need to stop. Please join us and help keep this family together this holiday season.

Now is the time for our members of congress to stop dragging their feet and support a comprehensive immigration reform that will help millions of families to come out of the shadows and fully participate in our communities. In the past month several Republicans have done what many thought impossible. As Republicans, they decided to put families over politics and signed on to the comprehensive immigration reform bill H.R. 15. This is an opportunity for Speaker Boehner to do the same. We need him to also be a leader and put families over politics. Though there is enough support in Congress to pass immigration reform, Speaker Boehner recently stated that it will not be going up for a vote until 2014. This stance may prove costly for him and his party. According to several studies, 71 Percent of Americans Favor Immigration Reform. With the focus of the political world now shifted toward the 2014 elections, new polls show that a majority of voters across the country – including in 12 key battleground states – will hold elected officials accountable at the ballot box if they do not support immigration reform. More than half of Americans – 54 percent – said they were less likely to support an elected official who opposed reform, compared with just 17 percent who were more likely to support a reform opponent. Now is the time to do the right thing and put families over politics.

So far, over 190 members of Congress have signed on as cosponsors! But in order to get this bill past the finish line, we're going to need more Republican support. Your district's representative in the House, Congressman Richard Hanna, is part of the group of House Republicans who are open to immigration reform. His support for this new bill could be the tipping point for our movement. If he becomes a part of the growing group of Republicans who have already cosponsored this bill, we know more of his colleagues in his party will build up the courage to follow. We know Rep. This year, we have come the closest ever to achieving real immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship. In June, the U.S. Senate passed a comprehensive, bipartisan immigration bill (S.744). Unfortunately, the Republican leadership in the House continues to delay a vote that could complete the dream for 11 million aspiring Americans by addressing our nation’s broken immigration system. Immigration reform activists have committed to a daily fast in front of the U.S. Capitol and at locations across the country to send a clear and visible message to Congress about the moral crisis caused by our country’s broken immigration system and its impact on millions of families. The thousands of fasters are being led by Eliseo Medina of the SEIU, Dae Joong Yoon of National Korean American Service and Education Consortium, Cristian Avila of Mi Familia Vota, Lisa Sharon Harper of Sojourners, and Rev. Samuel Rodriguez of National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference. Representatives Nancy Pelosi, Luis Gutierrez, Joseph Kennedy, Senator Chuck Schumer and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack have all visited the tent to show their support for the fasters. Author and activist Gloria Steinem and the Rev. Jesse Jackson have also visited the tent to stand in solidarity with the fasters. Over 3000 are taking part in fasts in more than 180 events across the country, with numbers growing every day. This petition is here to say people's lives and struggles aren't a game and breaking up people's families isn't funny. To joke and think this it is fun, oppresses those who live it everyday.

Given the GOP's intransigence and refusal to act on immigration reform, unless President Obama exercises his executive authority to protect and begin a legalization process, the 11 million undocumented immigrants will continue to face family separation and massive deportations that already exceed 2 million under his 5-year administration, notwithstanding that they contribute significantly to the U.S. economy, tax-base and the workforce.

Comprehensive immigraton reform is stalled in the U.S. House of Representatives. Send a strong message to Congress that we support comprehensive reform with a pathway to citizenship.
