Corey Safford has been housed at Cook County Dept. of Correction since January, 2010. Mr. Safford won his appeal after being charged in January, 1998 for attempt murder of a Harvey Police Officer. There were many errors found in this case. The Appellate Court and the Illinois Supreme Court Agreed, Mr. Safford's case was reversed. While being housed at Cook County Jail awaiting a new trial, Mr. Safford has been beat several times by Officers at the Jail. The last beating just occured where he suffered broken bones to his face and suffered other injuries.
