• SIGN THE DEMOCRACY VOTER PLEDGE
As we enter the final weeks of a midterm election that is almost certain to be marked by the most big money spent and the lowest voter turnout in American history, we who believe in “one person, one vote” political equality must exercise our right to vote and support candidates who will defend our democracy. Kai Newkirk and other 99Rise leaders are fasting until at least 28,000 Americans (after the 28th Amendment for which we fight) sign the pledge to stand against corruption and vote in support of pro-democracy candidates this November. This pledge campaign, along with the personal sacrifice of those fasting, can move us closer to solving the number one concern of MoveOn members- the corrupting effect of money in politics, but only if you make the pledge and help distribute this petition!

  • MTA: Give Posman Books a New Lease
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has decided to evict Posman Books from Grand Central Terminal. They are refusing to renew the independent bookseller's lease, and Posman's has to be out by December 31. The bookstore's space will be used for storage while a new tower is built. However, the Rite-Aid next door to Posman's will remain in business. New York is losing bookstores left and right. We cannot afford to lose another. Meanwhile, we're drowning in Rite-Aid (and Duane Reade, and Walgreens, and CVS). MTA, your decision to deny a lease renewal to Posman's--an independent, long-time, local New York business--is unconscionable and immoral. By doing so, you are contributing to the cultural death of the city. We ask that you renew Posman's lease and find another space for storage. See more info here: http://www.crainsnewyork.com/article/20141027/REAL_ESTATE/141029873/end-of-story-for-grand-centrals-posman-books

  • Fire Jay Cutler
Jay Cutler's lack of enthusiasm and inability to preform as a starting quarterback has left the Chicago Bears with a pitiful record of 3-5. This is unacceptable because the talent that surrounds him is outstanding. Please sign this petition and help convince Virginia Halas McCaskey to fire Jay Cutler.

  • Nebraska Watchdog must apologize to Amanda McGill and retract their inaccurate story
Amanda is running for State Auditor against incumbent Charlie Janssen, whose campaign manager is quoted frequently in the article mentioned. This story was introduced to attack Amanda with no factual basis, as she is a politician with a sterling reputation. We cannot allow our system to be hijacked by misinformation like this, so please help me convince Mr. Jordan and Nebraska Watchdog to do the right thing. • We Demand A Mega Club and museum for The House Music Culture.
Before House Music was introduced to Chicago, the city of Chicago was known for the gangster Al Capone. This was not a good image for the city. Then the city became known for the blues and its blues clubs. This didn't last very long. In 1980 Chicago House music was born, Chicago would never be the same, it was house central. House Music, the Dj's and the producers made Chicago the most talked about and visited cities in Illinois. It was reported that when there was a house music event going in Chicago the crime rate dropped. House music and its culture promotes peace unity and diversity it has crossed all racial barriers and has inspired all types of music genres: EDM, Techno, acid, soulful, dubstep, tribe, and many more. Three decades later House music is still going strong in Chicago. But House Music has no mega venue or museum. By developing these things: 1- It would be a great tribute to the Dj's and producers of Chicago that helped define a positive image of Chicago; 2- It would generate a greater level of tourism which would bring more money to the city; 3- This would create a place for the house music community of Chicago and the visiting fan population to celebrate its culture and love for the music. 4. The museum would display the contributions that the pioneers of house music has made to the music industry, photos of Dj's and producers, gear and equipment that was use to make the music, old flyers and photos of legendary DJ’s and producers, House music locations and other type of memorabilia. Also music workshops for the youth or that may be interested in a music career as a DJ, producer or sound engineer.

  • Bike Racks for our Parks!
As a cyclist, I am concerned that we aren't making it easy enough for beginning bikers and families and seniors to bike in NYC. One of the biggest obstacles to getting on a bike is having a place to lock it securely once you arrive at your destination. The parks in our neighborhood (Central Park, Riverside Park, Morningside Park and others) don't have any bike racks and that leaves cyclists without a place to park once they get to the park!

  • Metro-Cards For Suffolk County Transit
Passengers of the Suffolk County Transit & NICE Buses would like to have later hours on bus runs(until Midnight). Some people who ride the SCT & NICE Buses work late hours and do not have the SCT or NICE Buses running late for them to get home, and have to pay over $10.00 just to get home by cabs. With that I feel that SCT & NICE buses are losing passengers this way, just as well when the SCT buses are constantly running 15-20 minutes late when people are trying to get to work on time or getting home in time if they have children to get off the school bus.

  • Upon a birth of a healthy baby born to a Biological Mother, there must be true evidence of abuse ...
To many false allegation's go unproven and the children get adopted out anyway! I lost my Daughter to false allegation's and plenty others through the years 1984- 1987 and many others.till now Thing's just keep getting worse instead of better we need our infant babies to stay with their Biological Mothers! This Government Agency won't let any Biological Parent keep any baby born to them after a social worker falsifies papers and makes the adoption legal! it's unfair. Not to mention not good for a healthy baby to be placed away from the Biological Mother! Please put a stop to this injustice!
