  • Save the Internet: Fire Tom Wheeler
The Internet is the last level playing field where every citizen, every website, every small business and every idea has equal access, but FCC Chairman (and industry lobbyist) Tom Wheeler's vision for the Internet could lead to major ISPs like Comcast selling every bit of bandwidth to the highest bidder... leaving main-street behind once again. Join me in calling for the President to sweep aside ex-lobbyist for cable and wireless companies, Tom Wheeler, in what could become the defining action of Barack Obama's second term. History may be able to look back and credit President Obama with saving the Internet from greedy corporations and maintaining the Internet as the last form of communication that gives voice to every American citizen--equally, without preference to the powerful or the rich. The Internet was founded in the most important principals of our great nation: freedom, equality and liberty. If Tom Wheeler and Comcast get their way, ISPs (like Comcast, Verizon, AT&T and others) will no longer be under any real obligation to quickly and equally transmit any particular web site, email, blog, newspaper, opinion, idea, new service, free content or anything else that you have come to love the Internet for. Instead, Tom Wheeler's Internet will allow all ISPs to put the highest paying or most self-serving messages, news, opinion, content or anything else they like at the front of the line on the fastest connection for the highest bidder to have the most access to every computer and every browser. This is OUR Internet! President Obama: make a stand for liberty, equality and freedom by firing Tom Wheeler and keeping the Internet fair, neutral and open to all of us. Not convinced? Watch this and you will be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpbOEoRrHyU Thank you.

  • Run, Elizabeth, Run!
America needs a presidential candidate who stands up and fights for us, not just millionaires and billionaires or the highest bidder. America needs a candidate who believes that we succeed together, and that we don't have to go it alone. America needs a candidate who will rebuild our economy on shared economic values and prosperity, not winner take all. America needs you, Senator Warren, because all Americans deserve a fair shot.

  • Free the Oregon Zoo Elephants
The Elephants of the Oregon Zoo are in a small and inadequate enclosure and are being kept only for profit and entertainment. The recent expansions are still paltry compared to the elephants' actual needs. The herd patriarch, Packy, is dying slowly in secret, locked away from public view. They suffer from an intense and forced breeding program. Please help stop the abuse and let these elephants live in peace and retirement from this cruelty and exposition.

  • Repeal the Michigan Fireworks Safety Act of 2011
Our children, pets and our veterans suffering from PTSD should not be subjected to the noise associated with fireworks. As taxpayers, we have a right to enjoy our homes, breathe air not polluted with harmful metals contained in fireworks, and not worry about personal injury or property damage from the actions of a few.

  • ELIMINATE SOY bean oil as a cooking oil in restaurants
Soybean oil, cheap and used by most restaurants to fry and cook their otherwise soy-free meals in, or, mixed with other vegetable oils like canola is one of the most hidden and non-disclosed allergens that can prove very problematic to allergic individuals. Because soybean oil is often unremarked or non-disclosed to the waiters and restaurant staff and is considered a non-offensive agent, which is untrue, it should be eliminated from otherwise soy free foods, given that soy is one of the top 8 allergens.

  • McDonalds, please remove azodicarbonamide from your food
I am six years old. I love eating healthy food. But occasionally I like to go to McDonald's. Once I found out McDonalds uses azodicarbonamide, I stopped eating there. (This was my own choice, not my mom's.) Please remove this ingredient from your food as I want to live a really long healthy life.

  • Utah Transit Authority: Expand service hours.
Late night transit enables more consumers and workers to participate in Utah’s growing economy, dollar for dollar. Buses and trains running a late schedule reduce risk to those who work late night and early morning shifts, preventing them from having to walk for hours down darkened streets and providing them with a small improvement in their quality of life. Low income individuals often work irregular schedules and are the most loyal customers of UTA. Based on that, their demand for late night services should be met. Equally important is how late night transit (directly or indirectly) reduces the number of alcohol related accidents and injuries in the state. In the past year, UTA has seen an increase in ridership and it is time to take the next step in reinvigorating UTA's ridership. While it is up to the discretion of the UTA board how funds are allocated and spent, we believe future revenues should be focused on reestablishing regular late night ridership on a consistent schedule.

  • Add your name: We need nine Ruth Bader Ginsburgs on the Supreme Court
Ruth Bader Ginsburg is the model of what we need in a Supreme Court justice. She was a pioneer of women’s rights as an attorney arguing before the Supreme Court. She was just the second woman confirmed to be a Supreme Court justice. She was the first Supreme Court justice to officiate a gay couple’s wedding. Now, she’s the court’s voice of reason as leader of the court’s liberal wing—speaking truth to power in fiery dissents to decisions by the court’s right-wing majority. In short, Ruth Bader Ginsburg is awesome and we need more of her. Add your name: We need nine Ruth Bader Ginsburgs on the Supreme Court.

  • Its Hate Not Heritage
This petition seeks to draw attention to the fact that Georgia lawmakers continue to promote Confederacy related events and activities with residents' tax dollars. Given the Confederacy sought to preserve/expand slavery, and was built on the notion that White people were superior to all races, it is time to end this racist practice.
