Start recognizing the Transgender- gender non-conforming & inter-sexed community when addressing ...The Transgender Community is over-looked and often assumed to be a part of the LGBTQI community- yet sexual orientation and gender expression are seperate issues. Gender expression and gender identity are not sexual concerns but personal issues that we all have had to deal with. We have all stepped out of our gender norm and expressed the opposite expression at times- be it wth a short haired girl or a man wearing a pink shirt. The transgender community is a large community that has been over-looked and misunderstood for too long. Mr President- you say you want equality for our gay brothers and lesbian sisters, then please be specific and inclusive of the T in that community by validating us as human with your words in public! Please make a statement about transgender rights in public!29 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jennifer Barge

Maryland: Stop attacking law abiding citizens and coddling criminals!Governor O'Malley and the Maryland legislature are proposing new laws which will do NOTHING to effectively reduce violent crime, protect our schools, or penalize the real criminals. We need to do a better job of enforcing the CURRENT gun laws and implement measures that are shown to actually reduce violence, not "feel-good" gun bans that only punish law abiding citizens.79 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jason Livingston

Mayor Bob Foster of Long Beach: Respect Safe Access!Mayor Bob Foster has gone through extreme lengths to guarantee that California medical marijuana patients in Long Beach can not access their medicine safely. He has acted against the interest of the people who have elected him by forcing long beach patients, many of them cancer patients, to get their medicine through unsafe means. Not only should Long Beach tax payers be upset, but also the community as a whole because local governments should be respecting state laws, not trumping them.28 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Zack Abrams

Kill House Bill 87The Florida Legislature is at it again, thanks to the concerted efforts of Representatives Kathleen Passidomo (District 106, Collier County) and George Moraitis, Jr. (District 93, Broward County). Proposed House Bill 87 must not be allowed to pass into law in any form. The Bill is unconstitutional because it takes away from constituents and citizens of this state, and anyone who owns real property in Florida, their individual property and due process rights, is retroactive and violates Article 1, Sections 9 and 10 of Florida’s Constitution, which do not permit the passage of any law or any Judicial and/or Executive Branch process which deprives any person of life, liberty or property without due process of law and prohibits the passing of any law that impairs the obligations of contracts.1,722 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by The Hanging Together for Justice Foundation

Change the gun laws CongressThe gun laws must be changed to protect us from those who own guns. We have the right to LIFE, that is primary. We need common sense that allows people to protect their homes if they wish, hunt if they wish, but no guns in public places.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Danby

North Carolina Police Officer Safety Act 2013We need your help to change an outdated Administrative Code and general statues 20-125(b) that places police officers and the general public in grave danger, by not allowing them to properly respond to a life safety hazard. Currently company police officers (sworn law enforcement officers) are the only branch of law enforcement within North Carolina that cannot respond “Emergency (lights and sirens)” to an incident or officer in distress if the officer is located even one block outside their jurisdiction. Six (6) police officers died in North Carolina alone last year from line of duty deaths; please help us avoid the next tragedy.126 of 200 SignaturesCreated by NC Police Officer

Wisconsin Foie Gras BanWisconsin is one of the many states that allows foie gras to be sold and bought in restaurant establishments, this cruel product has no use in our restaurants. Foie gras is made through a process of having a large metal pole being shoved down a helpless duck's neck. The ducks are often confined in cages and can't move. They are unable to fight back when they are being force fed, the sale of foie gras for human consumption violates the Poultry Products Inspection Act (PPIA) which states that they prohibit diseased, or "manipulated" meat from entering the food supply.421 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Fighters For Animal Rights
