The NJTRANSIT leases half it's fleet for 1 dollar per bus per year to a few private companies in the best high paying areas. This is no way to keep costs for taxpayers and riders down. If this isn't mob corruption, then what is it?

Walsh Pool is a gem of a medium sized sand bottomed pool in Fair Lawn, NJ. During the more than twenty years that I have lived here, it was always my family's pool of choice in Fair Lawn. To destroy it, no matter how great the plans, is senseless since whatever is being contemplated in its place can just as easily be built on public lands elsewhere.

Many beloved pet dogs are being senselessly killed on public lands by legally set body grip fur harvesting traps in the state of MN. Hundreds of thousands of hunters and people recreating with dogs on our public grounds are being terrorized by a minority of trappers using body grip traps. If regulations were adjusted to require body grip traps to be set 5 ft. above ground or completely submerged in water, trappers could continue to successfully harvest furs and the vulnerability of dogs would be considerably reduced. This is being done to the benefit of dogs and trappers in neighboring states and Canadian provinces.

Prohibiting the practice of giving away live animals, fish, hermit crabs lizards etc as prizes would save many of them from cruelty. Winning a animal or fish is done on impulse and rarely do the recipients have the resources for them when they arrive home to care for them. I have seen fish in bags discarded in trash receptacles at the fair and many others die from the heat and being brought on rides. Many towns and cities in other states have banned the practice. Maryland is a progressive state and should do the same. There are better, more suitable prizes available that don't have the inherent cruelty of giving a live animal as a prize.

Conservatives are not the only ones concerned about 2nd amendment rights. Some of us do not agree with all the recent talk about gun control. More gun laws will not solve the problem of violence in our society. Keep the progressives right to own the most popular semi-automatic sporting arms and high capacity magazines available.

Senate Majority leader Harry Reid once again demonstrated his unwillingness to challenge Republican obstructionism by refusing to support strong filibuster reform introduced by Senator Jeff Merkley of Oregon. The opportunity has been lost for another year to change the filibuster rules to make it harder for one senator to stop debate on critical legislation. The people in our country are concerned about the extremes to which gun violence has escalated. Now is the time to take action and fully support the gun control measures our President has proposed.

I see how happy triggers here in Florida are taken the lives of people. There is something that we can do about it.

I sick to my stomach of these jobs paying minimum wage and have all kinds of rules!! They ought to be glad someone is there working. How do they expect someone to live on $8 an hr?? No raises, or cost of living raises. There should be a law made to change this!! Then they want you to pay for your Medical,Dental,Vision and Life Insurance Premiums and live off $5 hr after premiums and after taxes 20% ??? Does the CEO live on $8hr? Heck NO.. let them walk a day in our shoes and see how fast they would pay us more!! Just like Congress put them on $8 an hr and see how fast wages like these would change....!!!!

To many jobs from our country are going to other countries. Save our jobs. If privatizing is a good solution, hire a US company.
