I think it's about time the Auto and Cell phone industry do something about the use of cell phones and mobile devices while driving. I'm tired of being put in danger so someone can text their girlfriend or check their e-mail. And if you honk at them because they're drifting into your lane, they get mad at you like it's your fault. And as far as emergency personnel is concerned, isn't that why they have two-way radios. Just because someone is a police officer shouldn't give them the right to blatenly abuse the law and talk to their wife or friend on a cell phone while on duty and driving. Banning the use of cell phones in cars will make everyone safer, period.

BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) prevents dog owners from owning certain breeds determined dangerous or aggressive. Under this category is the Pitbull, who does not deserve this absurd banishment. Pitbulls are proven to have good temperaments as well as the abilities to become service animals for the mentally and physically handicapped. This petition goal is to prevent Pitbulls that are registered as service animals from being effected by the BSL laws.

It is time to end the practice of changing our clocks twice a year. Because we are so far west in the Eastern Time Zone, we have plenty of daylight without having to move our clocks forward every March. Further, research has proven Daylight Saving Time can cause illness due to missed medications, some of which can even lead to death. Research has also shown the observance of Daylight Saving Time actually uses more energy and costs more money than just leaving the clocks alone. It also is disruptive to children, who have to wait in darkness each time we change the clocks. It is time to stop observing this silly practice that causes more problems than solutions.

Governor Jindal (Louisiana) is redirecting $75,000,000 of Road Home funding to the Superdome Arena, after spending more than $100,000,000 for Hurricane Katrina related repairs. Road Home funds was intended for Citizens to rebuild and get back into their homes after Hurricane Katrina. Many Families STILL have not recevied assistance to return to their homes. We are demanding that the Governor and Legislature use these funds for the Citizens of New Orleans its intended purpose.
