BEAUTIFUL EVOLVING THINKERS!I no longer will accept Viacom as producers of my media and I am implimenting this petition for others to see the ignorance BET passes on African Americans. How are you helping black people advance watching shows that see you as consumers, the programs that are the most essential are minimal at best. BET needs to raise the bar to a level that represents our standard or they got to go! Just That simple. When you dont chose, the choices are made for you is called hegemony. This is a preponderant influence of mind control, because we are a people but they look at us as consumers. This boycott will have an agenda beyond new TV shows. Til I get ten people and they each get ten people who can make a force called WILL. I WILL STAY ON MY SQUARE AT THE READY . THANK YOU.49 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Zibijah ElBrown

Protect Harvard Citizen's Right to Public AssemblyLast year at town meeting , the town overwhelmingly passed article 17, Municipal Buildings. The Board of Selectmen(BoS) appointed a committee the Municipal Building Committee (MBC) to come up with plans for to renovate Town Hall and the Hildreth House. The Hildreth House is less controversial so we are leaving it out of this petition. The MBC has done an excellent job of soliciting public input over the last 9 months and is coming close to picking a design. Two Selectmen continue to try to pressure the MBC to scale down their proposal for town hall. The main point of contention is what to do with the second floor. The history here is: up until 1985 the second fl was used for performances, town meetings and many community functions. In '85, "Temporary" offices were put up there and are still there today. By restoring the 2nd fl to a useable space we would fill a huge void in our community, an intermediate size meeting room, that could hold up to 250 people, and be used for town government, civic and community space. We’re calling upon the Board of Selectmen to instruct the MBC to develop a design that upholds the intent of Article 17; a plan for renovating town hall that would provide for town government and a public assembly space for the citizens of the town. An excellent video on the history of town hall can be found here(sorry you may need to cut and paste the website url): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJ6A5fJYf0M303 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Stu Sklar

STOP DENYING VETERANS BENEFITSThe VA has a program called Compensated Work Therapy (CWT), it provides Vets, who have certain issues, with a therapeutic job in order to help them continue their lives and prepare for work in the private sector. While Congress and the IRS has provided tax free exemptions for these positions what good does it do if the VA will not provide the jobs so Vets can take advantage of these provisions? The Dayton VA has consistently denied Vets this benefit via employees not doing there jobs or finding reason to deny the Vet access to this benefit. EXAMPLE: The Bedford Ma VA has over 800 of these positions, the Houston VA has over 500 but the Dayton VA has only 25 jobs. For the past 6 years they have had only 8-10 jobs. These people consistently refuse to provide these benefits! As a result of my protests against these denials I have been ostracized and singled out for complete denial of anything other than Physical healthcare and it is time these people provided these benefits to America’s Vets. With so many returning war Vets this problem is going to be astronomical. I need your help to end these denials and fix this problem.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Darrell Hampton

Keep people in their homes!During this great economic struggle when many people have signifcant loss of income due to hardships and are forced into fore-closure or short-sale, we are asking the banks to modify mortgages and reduce the principal balance to the current market value as well as the interest rate to the going rate. Though, these people will take a significant hit to their credit, the banks will not be taking over homes in much needed repair and other huge costs. --The current 'loan modifications' are not making a difference, just prolonging the inevitable. -The reduction in mortgages and principal will make a great difference in the spiraling downfall of the housing market.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Christine Wunderli

I want your resignation, Kansas Republican Mike O'Neill. He doesn't deserve the office he was sworn to uphold. I was raised to have the utmost respect for the President of our Country..whether I agreed with his policies or not. He should be arrested for death threats against our President, and his family.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Pamela Kissinger

Petition to immediately halt and invalidate the undemocratic and fraudulent election of the SEIU ...On Friday, January 6, 2012, the day before the Citywide San Francisco Bargaining Team election voting began, the 1021 Union Administration quietly and without grounds removed Sin Yee Poon, a member who meets the eligibility requirements of being in good standing and employed by the City and County of San Francisco at the Human Services Agency, from the list of nominee for Bargaining Team and from the Election ballots. Sin Yee was duly nominated and had accepted the nomination. When members indicated that they would start a write-in campaign, the Union Administration promptly declared write-ins “unacceptable” and that it would “disqualify” such votes. This totally undemocratic action by the 1021 Union Administration again disrespects the rights and authority of the membership to elect the representatives of our choice that will best reflect and advocate for our interest, particularly during very important contract negotiations.19 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Steven Cravis

Pets:The abandoned military dependentsIn US military installations throughout the US and the world, animals are routinely abandoned when military personnel move to another base. As a result, abandoned pets live in disease and misery, fall victim to abuse, and are rounded up and killed inhumanely. It falls on compassionate local nationals whose salaries are significantly lower than military personnel to pay for spaying, neutering, and feeding the animals. It is time for the US government to pay for transport of animals of military personnel and to establish American-run base organizations that provide care for these animals, as well as educate personnel about responbilities of having a pet.12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Patricia PERRON

presidential election 2012If the republicans take the presidency in 2012, it could take a century to undo the damage they would bring to our country. Obama would lose of the election were held today. We need something dramatic for Obama to be able to win in November. That something dramatic I'd Hillary Clinton as his runningmate. she can re-energize the base!!19 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Peter Schwartz

Say NO to more special exemptions for developers! The 14th St. corridor is again the victim of another luxury high rise development at 1905-1917 14th St., NW. This proposed 144 unit building is asking to exceed height and other development requirements. Exemptions to the off street parking requirements mean 34 spots instead of the required 81. Unsustainable retail rents will push out local merchants and our Post Office!15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joan Sterling

Sign the Eric Brody Claims Bill now!Eric Brody was rear ended by a speeding Broward County Deputy in 1988 and left brain damaged and wheelchair bound. He was awarded a settlement but Florida legislative approval is needed for any awards over $200 000 from any governmental agency even though they have arranged a settlement that will be fully covered by insurance. Eric and his family sat in the Florida House gallery until 2am on the final night of the last legislative session after being told they would address this bill, but 8 months later they are still waiting for it to be signed. House Speaker Cannon keeps putting off signing the bill that will help this family pay for his medical bills and it seems he is going to hold the bill hostage and use it for leverage with the Senate on other issues. Cannon has stated "claims bills were tertiary on his priority list and would have to wait until bigger issues like the budget and auto insurance reform were settled." Even though he was awarded a lot more money in court, his family has settled for the $10 million that will be paid by the insurers so this is not a bill that is going to cost the tax payer anything. I have seen photos of Eric and he is in a bad way and is going to need care for the rest of his life. He was injured by a Government employee, and now they need to step up to the plate and sign the bill NOW!14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Moira Viljoen

WP7 On SprintThe Sprint Community forums is up-in-arms about Sprint's lack of WP7 devices currently available for the carrier. With no announcement of a new device at CES 2012 and the earliest possible arrival of one not until August-September (see quote below) we customers want support for this great emerging platform as it gains momentum and attention.2,685 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Dylan Wright

Hillary Clinton for Vice PresidentDo we on the left want to control the White House for twelve more years? Of course, we do. Do we want a woman president? Naturally. We can improve our chances for both if we persuade the President Obama and the powerful democrats to replace Biden, who has done a reasonable job, with the outstanding Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.21 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Myrna Smith
