• Gov. Rauner: Stop the Illiana Boondoggle
The proposed Illiana expressway would run from Indiana to Illinois, south of Chicago, cutting through farmland and threatening the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie. The Iliana is projected to cost anywhere between $1.3 to $2.8 billion, and Illinois taxpayers would be on the hook for anywhere between $690 million to $1.35 billion of the costs. Driving has been declining in Illinois over the last decade, including in the region the Illiana would serve yet the Illiana planners justify the project with predictions that driving will steadily increase every year for the next thirty years. That's why Illinois PIRG highlighted the expressway as one of 11 highway boondoggles across the country. Governor Rauner has not taken a position on the Illiana but his transition team recommend he "pause and review" all major infrastructure projects. It also recommended prioritizing maintaining our current infrastructure over major expansions. Tell Governor Rauner to put the brakes on the Illiana boondoggle.

  • Mr. President: Veto any bill that cuts Social Security benefits
On the first day of the new Congress, Republicans quietly introduced a rules change that would force Social Security into a manufactured crisis. The new rule puts a new restriction on the routine transfer of funds between the Social Security trust fund and the Social Security disability program, an action so normal that Congress has approved it 11 times. Unless Congress approves new revenues (which they won't), disabled Americans or seniors will see huge benefit cuts as soon as 2016. The Republican Congress might want to spend their times playing games with our retirement. But as long as you are in the White House, President Obama, you have the power to veto bills that cut Social Security retirement benefits or disability insurance.

  • NO CHANGES TO SOCIAL SECURITY OR MEDICARE
Social Security and Medicare are programs necessary for older Americans. Americans paid for their Social Security benefit. Congress is not giving us a gift! There is a very easy solution to fix S.S. permanently by simply raising the cap. Everyone should pay on 100% of their salaries. Furthermore, Social Security does not add one cent to the deficit! Medicare must remain as it is, because without it, older Americans will not be able to afford the Medicare premium with or without a voucher. There are no "for profit" insurance companies willing to insure older, sick Americans. These essential programs are necessary to insure America's older citizens do not have to live in poverty!

  • Stop lane reduction on Gaffey Street in San Pedro California
The residents of San Pedro want to be heard; we do not want any more lane reductions. The lane reductions are causing extra traffic and longer commute times as well as extra pollution from idle cars.

  • Help the poor find homes, get healthcare and not go hungry
We the people of Florida who are the poor and less fortunate want to be treated the same as the rich billionaires. There are people who suffer because the Florida government didn't expand Medicaid and people are going without food and shelter and are starving. Give them help with shelters: build them and they will come. Equal rights and care for the Floridian people less fortunate so they can eat, sleep and lay their children's heads and all down. Help the homeless for God will never go for letting them rot and die.

  • Stop 8000 South!
Sandy City is trying to push through 8000 South into our neighborhood. I am concerned for our neighborhood children's safety. Because 8000 South is a major artery in Sandy City, if opened it will encourage drivers to use our neighborhood as a cut through to 1000 E. and 1300 E. This will increase traffic and speeding. Currently there are four streets that adequately serve our neighborhood traffic. Please help us STOP 8000 South at 700 East.
