NO CUTS IN SOCIAL SECURITYI am a recipient of Social Security benefits. It's already highly inadequate for financing my modest living expenses. I don't know how I can survive if my meager benefits shrink even further.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Shafiq Islam

Stop Social Security CutsPresident Obama released a budget proposal with $112 billion in Social Security cuts. According to the AARP, a typical 80-year-old woman will lose the equivalent of three months worth of food annually under this plan. Today, we reflect on why cutting Social Security is a bad idea: The Government does not fund Social Security, not directly makes contributions to SS. Workers are the only contributing factor. SS is not insolvent. Fact: SS is stable. The government wants to turn it into a voucher system, subject to the stock market. We Simply cannot afford to let this happen. Do not touch social security, medicare or medicalThere are many seniors who do not get hugh social security benefits. Let them take social security from the multi- millionaires who do not need it. And to stop giving oil companies, sugar, and rich farmers subsidies.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Britt Saans

Congress & Pres. Obama: Restore our passenger trainI have had my intercity mobility restricted by the suspension of Amtrak's Sunset Limited train segment between New Orleans and Orlando. Dozens of communities have had their only transportation alternative under a "temporary suspension" since Hurricane Katrina. To help these citizens like myself, and for the sake of its economic benefits, the Federal Government MUST put an end to this political laziness and provide funding for a daily Amtrak train from New Orleans to Orlando!104 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Andrew Lodriguss

Do Not Cut Social SecurityThe people who rely on Social Security cannot afford any cuts to their meager benefits. Prices have skyrocketed during these past recession years since 2009. We don't want our older citizens to have to choose between food or medications. It is high time we did not give Social Security to those whose incomes testify to the fact they do not need additional monies. So stop paying the wealthy rather than taking from the poorer recipients.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Geraldine Davis

Do Not Cut Social SecurityMy parents are both on Social Security and they suffer enough having to pay the extra medical bills that medicare doesn't cover. They are like many of us and lost a company pension due to closer or downsizing. This left them very little compensation for retirement. Being able to retire, after working your whole life, should be a good thing, not a time to suffer more!2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Theresa Summarsell

Do not lower social security in any wayI am currently on social security. As a senior, I depend on it, and in addition, I have paid into it my entire working life. It is outrageous to decrease it, especially among seniors.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Vicki Ratner

Representative Larsen: Do Not Cut Social Security: Say No to the Chained CPIThe President's proposal to cut Social Security benefits to the elderly and disabled veterans is unnecessary, immoral, inhumane, and unjust. Social Security today has a $2.7 trillion surplus and can pay out every benefit owed to every eligible American for the next twenty years. Social Security will be solvent for the next fifty years if we do one simple thing, what the President proposed when he ran for President in 2008: lift the cap on taxable income, starting at $250,000 a year, so that millionaires are paying more into the Social Security trust fund than those who are making $100,000 a year.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mary Elizabeth Bell

New Jerseyans say no cuts to Social Security benefits!President Obama's budget plan is not the kind of change we can believe in. Obama's budget will includes a big cut to Social Security benefits -- making life harder for retirees for years to come. Despite President Obama's campaign promises about protecting Social Security and Medicare benefits, he is pushing hard for this devastating cut. But members of Congress who care about working families can stop this plan. Speaker Boehner needs Democratic votes to pass even the least controversial bills. So if enough Democrats say Chained CPI and other benefit cuts are off the table, then they'll really be off the table.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Bill Holland
