Say no to President Obama's proposal to cut Social Security by lowering the cost-of-living adjustment for current and future retirees. Remember your promises President Obama

My parents are both on Social Security and they suffer enough having to pay the extra medical bills that medicare doesn't cover. They are like many of us and lost a company pension due to closer or downsizing. This left them very little compensation for retirement. Being able to retire, after working your whole life, should be a good thing, not a time to suffer more!

If this cut goes into effect then the most vulnerable will be hurt which are the disabled, elderly, and veterans.

I am currently on social security. As a senior, I depend on it, and in addition, I have paid into it my entire working life. It is outrageous to decrease it, especially among seniors.

The President's proposal to cut Social Security benefits to the elderly and disabled veterans is unnecessary, immoral, inhumane, and unjust. Social Security today has a $2.7 trillion surplus and can pay out every benefit owed to every eligible American for the next twenty years. Social Security will be solvent for the next fifty years if we do one simple thing, what the President proposed when he ran for President in 2008: lift the cap on taxable income, starting at $250,000 a year, so that millionaires are paying more into the Social Security trust fund than those who are making $100,000 a year.

if CPI is changed I will lose money!

President Obama's budget plan is not the kind of change we can believe in. Obama's budget will includes a big cut to Social Security benefits -- making life harder for retirees for years to come. Despite President Obama's campaign promises about protecting Social Security and Medicare benefits, he is pushing hard for this devastating cut. But members of Congress who care about working families can stop this plan. Speaker Boehner needs Democratic votes to pass even the least controversial bills. So if enough Democrats say Chained CPI and other benefit cuts are off the table, then they'll really be off the table.

Hands off our social security and medicare.

I am 64 years old. In two years I will be able to draw my full social security. I have paid into Social Security for 51 years thinking it will be there for me when I retire. You know, I love America, this is my country and it seems as though I am being ripped off after buying into the belief of the American dream, where you get your life in order, work hard, be a law abiding citizen, donate to others (even when times are tough) pay your taxes and then suddenly you pull the rug out from under me and say, "Sorry you wasted your time and money paying into this organization, but we are no longer honoring the Social Security system." You tell me this when I am old and nobody else really wants to hire and older person. REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!
