We have overpaid child support by 25 thousand dollars already and they claim that we owe another 11 thousand. Official payments were made to the court, but we were not ever given credit for them. The court says too bad because we did not get the legal advice nor help we needed in a "timely" manner according to the courts.

There is great mistrust of Congress regarding it's veiled intentions to make Americans think that Social Security is part of the Federal budget when, instead, it is a self-sustaining Trust Fund, not to be tinkered with. Recently, new wording on SS checks and direct deposits now call it "Federal Benefit Payment/Entitlement" which is incorrect and deliberately misleading. SS is an Earned Benefit, legally withheld from our paychecks.

Any changes to either Medicare or Social Security will eventually result in the shameful conditions that precipitated the formation of these invaluable programs in the first place....namely, the elderly having to resort to abject poverty or relying on their offspring for care in their declining years.

When I was a high earner I learned that after I made $119,000. I didn't have to make any more payments to SS and Medicare. Why did I get that benefit when I was earning so much more and could afford my share. Now that we need more SS revenue, this entitlement should be eliminated.

A new report by the Institute for Policy Studies examines CEOs of public companies who have endorsed the “Fix the Debt” campaign. The report, “Pension Deficit Disorder: The Massive CEO Retirement Funds and Underfunded Worker Pensions at Firms Pushing Social Security Cuts,” finds that these CEOs, while calling for ordinary Americans to take cuts in Social Security and Medicare, are sitting on an average of $9 million each in retirement funds. Most are also running large deficits in their own employees’ pension funds.

My brother is one of thousands of soldiers who suffers from post traumatic stress disorder after returning home from the front lines in Afghanistan. He, just like many other soldiers has not only had a hard time coming forward to reach out for help but has also received little to no help from the Veteran Affairs or the VA. Our soldiers need OUR help. Soldiers should undergo a mental health evaluation once coming home and again every six months until their military contracts are up. Along with, every soldier diagnosed with PTSD must receive therapy from either the VA or from an outside source at the VA's expense. The war doesn't end when they get home. It's our job to help those who serve for us.
