Do not cut Social SecurityThis is something that I have paid into over the years. Money from Social Security should not be put into the Governments General Fund and it would be self sustaining fund.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Hilliard Moore

Socical security protectionPlease do not let the president take away from the needy seniors. Please stop the wealthy from making the seniors pay so they can keep their wealth. It is not fair to the retirees who worked to make the wealthy wealthier. It needs to stop. Please protect our seniors and retirees.223 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Linda L. Misch

Save Social Security NowWe all have family members who would be hurt by any reduction in Social Security benefits. I also speak for my own situation. It is unthinkable to have worked so hard for President Obama to be re-elected and then find out that these benefits have been put on the table. They should not have anything to do with our fiscal cliff and debt ceiling issues. We implore you to remove these from any compromises. You owe it to the American people to keep your word.11,351 of 15,000 SignaturesCreated by Constance H.

Stop Social Security CutsWe have paid all of our working llives into Social Security so that when we retire, we would have some sort of income to help with medication, food and living expenses. To do any cut to Social Security would be detirmental to our lives. We have worked hard for this. Leave it alone.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Anthony Marzullo

Social Security is a contractual insurance for working class Americans.Cuts to our insurance breaks faith with generations. The word entitlement has been used to confuse us while the Congress and President rob us. We expect you to honor the real interests of people, not corporations and the 1%.432 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Anne J Ryan

Preserving Benefits To Protect Our Most Vulnerable CitizensThis issue affects all of us either right in this moment or in the near future. Someone each of us knows will suffer from cuts to Social security benefits. We can not compromise on the small amount comparatively spent on Social Security rather than trimming defense or asking the very wealthy to shoulder their share or at least a larger portion of their fair share. Please move this petition forward.760 of 800 SignaturesCreated by laura rosales

We can't cut Social SecurityWe can't have cuts to Social Security. Many people like myself live on Social Security along, and we would all be greatly affected with cuts to cost of living increases in Social Security..1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Savannah Taylor

Cuts to Social SecurityThose on Social Security certainly do not need a cut in benefits. Many now have to make a choice between food and medication. Why do we take from the poor and elderly in our society and not tax the wealthy appropriately. This should not even be up for discussion and should be off the table for any type of discussion.360 of 400 SignaturesCreated by F. Social Security/Medicare protection amendmentPaul Ryan is trying to take social security away from people who have paid into the system for many years. President Obama is considering changes to the system as an option to negotiate with Ryan and others. This should be a violation of law as many people are unable to save more for retiremtent and have no choice but to rely on Social Security and Medicare. This is a binding legal contract and no government official should have the ability to change any aspect of it. Younger people, who have not contributed enough to qualify for benefits have other options but those of us in our 50's have limited ability because we have been forced to pay into a system which is now under attack by both republicans and democrats alike. Simply put, anyone (like me) who has contributed suffidcient funds into Social Security and Medicare and have recieved a statement from said administration declaring that they have contributed enough to qualify for benefits, would have that statement considered to be a binding legal contract, which cannot be changed in any way, by anyone, including congrss and the President.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by James W.
