  • Stop cuts from Social Security
I do not understand how this can be done and as I am on SS and it does not last me all month it is wrong to cut this benefit for millions of elderly and disabled people. Most of us started working when the minimum wage was around $2.50 so we need our SS and people like Obama and members of Congress who are millionairs they can afford to lose money the elderly can't. Obama can spend and spend like he wants and then he goes after things that people worked for, the put away and so many other things. Why don't you work to prove he is not legal to be president of this great country that he is slowly destroying. I am sorry but the elderly need the SS that they get and let the millionairs pay for Obamas massive spending and vacations not the elderly and poor. Thank you Mary Barnes

  • Social Security cuts will affects deficit reduction package.
The cuts in Social Security are going to affect the majority of Americans and would amount to "a cut of more than 5 percent and more as the years go by." For many retirees this would mean critical cuts to benefits that cover medicine, food, and other daily necessities.

  • Protection of Social Security.
Billions of dollars have been BORROWED from a fund, which is sacred to retirees, so that idotic politicians can fight UNDECLARED WARS on behalf of foreign countries. THIS MUST CEASE!!

  • Keep Social Security
Do not cut social security. I have earned it and still continue to earn it. I paid for it. It is mine. If you cut it without my approval you are stealing my savings. That is punishable by law.

  • Social Security is NOT part of the deficit
I've paid into social security just like any retirement plan. It's supposed to be guaranteed with a cost of living increase built in. It's not part of any budget, leave it alone.

  • No cuts to Social Security
Proposed cuts to Social Security would be devastating to those among us who can least afford it. Tell Harry Reid and the Democrats in Congress that it is unacceptable to allow cuts to Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid as part of any debt/budget negotiations.

  • Paid into social security for 50 years and now to be reduced?
Have paid into Social Security and Medicare for many years and now, to be told we can't have our benefits any longer! Seniors can barely make ends meet as it is!

  • Hands off my Social Security!
Belinda J Mooney: "The Great Depression was grievous time in the United States. At that time there were hardly any jobs then the stock market crashed. Afterwards the country discovered it was contending with a great population of retirement age adults without any work and no retirement income set aside. President Theodore Roosevelt was one of the foremost people to envision a need for a system that would aid America's older citizens, particularly after a major catastrophe such as the Great Depression." Sixty+ years ago, at the insistence of my parents, I applied for and received my Social Security card. I signed it at an age when I knew nothing of how to properly sign such an important document so I signed it "Tommy Kelly." Fifty years later that original card was stolen from me. Please don't steal what I paid into and whatever is left.
