Stop Destruction of Historic 1830s Ridgewood Home at 315 East Glen!I grew up in the historic home at 315 East Glen Avenue, which was built in the early 1830s and shares many original architectural and decorative details with the Hermitage and Hohokus Inn (woodwork, moldings, floors, banisters, windows etc.) It has a fascinating history with residents including the actor Edwin Boothe, and was reputed to have been a part of the Underground Railroad. A woman named Miss Colie lived there during the Depression who was supposed to distribute flour and sugar as a part of the WPA program, but she ended up committing suicide in the garage when she was found to have stolen the supplies. Aside from the beauty, history and trees/landscaping that would be lost forever with the destruction of this home, the variances requested create issues for the town and neighborhood including: - non-conformance of buildable and usable square footage to other homes in the area - water collection, drainage and flood prevention given the reduction of trees and grass due to additional paving proposed and requirements for running of utility lines - access and safety of additional cars from secondary home - non-conformance of variances for a home to be set back and sideways - non-conformance to expand pathway to 20 ft, (currently no examples in town) Please join us in opposing the variances that would allow this home to be destroyed and help us to save this historic home for future generations to enjoy as a part of the varied architectural and historic tapestry that make up our community! Thank you for your support!!398 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Jill Williams

Local SkateparkSurrounding counties such as Suwannee County, Madison County, and Leon County all have skate parks. We should build a skate park for our youth so that they have a safe environment to skate.111 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Cade Johnson

Tenant Rights LawMy husband and I were recently advised that our landlord was not going to renew our lease all of a sudden after 4 years. We had an issue just three weeks earlier with our car being illegally towed from our parking spot . We contacted the apartments at crystal lake at 3801 Crystal Lake Drive Pompano Beach FL Who is owned by CJM properties in Canada and was advised that we were not going to be reimbursed for the towing fee of 150.00. I contacted CJM Properties via twitter and facebook and the next day we got the 150.00 back, I believe that the owners of these apartment complexes should be forced to provide a good reason for not renewing the lease if the tenant did not violate any terms of the lease. The complexes should have to provide written proof such as if the building is being torn down. Failure to enforce this petition allows the landlord to make up a reason or give no reason thus they can throw a tenant out for retaliation but it becomes difficult to prove. I believe that the tenant rights need to be improved. So with that being said the law needs to state that if the tenant did not violate any terms of the lease, written proof needs to be provided. Cjm Properties and the apartments and crystal lake retaliated against us and throughout a disabled person with cancer2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rose Ambrosio

Stop Bank Foreclosures and Homeowner EvictionsThis is something I feel very strongly about and have worked on to resolve. Recent computing technologies allow for corrections of mathematical flaws in the calculation of interest which can be applied . These are solutions which can protect lender funds, family's dignity and maintain the standards and ideals of what the American quality of life should be.19 of 100 SignaturesCreated by A.M.Saad

Housing For HomelessAcross this country there have been laws passed in cities and legislatures outlawing aggressive panhandling and introducing urban camping laws. We shouldn't be throwing people in jail because they have no home or are poor. We should help them get off the streets not making it worse for them.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Samuel Ryan

Bus stop to AxisI am a student who lives in Axis apartments who does not have a car and it's a hassle to find a consistent ride to school. Not only for me but also many residents of The Axis Apartments. With the cold weather on the horizon it discourages students from attending class because we have to walk in such environments. I feel the residents of Axis have been neglected by both Madison County Transit and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.44 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mikasas Waters

Relocation of MailboxesWe in the Northern Heights Subdivision believe that we are entitled to have our own individual mailboxes re-located to in front of each individual home like most communities in the area. We as a subdivision have contacted the Waynesville Post Office on numerous occasions about mail being placed in the wrong boxes and the theft of our mail. London Lane along with Lambert Lane have all mailboxes clustered together while other streets have their mailboxes located in front of their residences. We demand that the United States Postal Service in Waynesville MO allow us, the tax-paying homeowners, the right to to our own mailboxes in front of our homes, to ensure the correct delivery and reduction of theft.57 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jean

Czech Hall ComplexWe wish to oppose the 200-400 block of N Czech Hall road from being considered for rezoning so an apartment complex can be built there. This will be a 3 floor complex that will have direct view into back yards of residents' homes. The proposed building does not fit in with the neighborhood or the community, which could negatively impact property values, and questions need to be answered and new plans presented prior to any rezoning.188 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Daniel

Pay Back the Money borrowed from Social Security Trust FundMy husband and I receive Social Security benefits and we paid into the Social Security program each week of our working lives.
