To assure that the sacrifices of our service men and woman are not made "in vain, that this nation shall have a new birth of freedom and that the government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from this earth". -Abraham Lincoln, Gettysburg Address

  • A message to President Donald Trump, from America’s youth:
It is crucial for the young people of America to make their voices heard, and to call on the President and his cabinet to promote and champion diversity, pluralism, and cooperation. We must be united in denouncing all forms of hateful speech and actions that lead to polarization and the marginalization of communities. Only through engagement and reconciliation can we mitigate issues of local, national, and international concern.

  • Congress: Invalidate the Trump Presidency Immediately
Donald Trump being inaugurated as President is a direct victory for Vladimir Putin and his hostile actions to undermine our government, and we as a nation must raise a the alarm to put a stop to it immediately. At best the Electoral College results were compromised directly by the hostile actions of the Russian government. At worst, it was quite possibly executed with the knowledge & assistance of Donald Trump and/or members of his campaign staff either through complicity or compromising data in the possession of Russia. We have all heard and read Mr. Trump's public calls openly inviting the Russian Government to continue their hostile acts of aggression and now we know those systematic attacks continued with Mr. Trump's permission. His presidency must be invalidated immediately and retroactively and the election ruled in favor of the winner of the popular vote.

  • Americans should have same healthcare as Congress
Healthcare is a hot issue with the repeal of Obamacare. This is a good alternative everyone could live with. It's a plan I offer the new administration.

  • Sen. Heitkamp: Join the movement and boycott Trump's inauguration
Congressman John Lewis sparked a growing movement this weekend to boycott Donald Trump's inauguration. He said he would not attend because Russia's tampering with the presidential election means that he cannot view Trump as a "legitimate president." Since then, nearly 60 House Democrats have announced that they will not attend Trump's inauguration, either—and Democratic Senate Leader Chuck Schumer told the media that the decision to attend the inauguration is up to each senator. But as far as we know, Senator Heidi Heitkamp still intends to attend the inauguration—which is why she needs to hear from you right now. Hundreds of thousands of people across the country, including MoveOn members like you and supporters of other progressive organizations like CREDO and Democracy for America, have spoken out to demand members of Congress resist Trump, giving 59 House Democrats the public support and political will needed to stand up to Trump and refuse to attend his inauguration. Now, senators who believe in our shared progressive values and democratic principals of our country must do the same. Donald Trump is a threat to our nation; he is an unstable autocrat and must be resisted at every turn. By boycotting the inauguration, elected representatives are refusing to treat Trump's presidency as business as usual.

  • Close the Fracking Loophole
Since 2005, the oil and gas industry has fracked over 137,000 wells, used over 6 billion pounds of chemicals and produced billions of gallons of fracking wastewater. At least 157 of the chemicals used in fracking fluid are toxic to humans and aquatic life. Fracking produces billions of gallons of fracking fluid waste each year. And time and again, toxic spills have contaminated our water and endangered our health. Yet the fracking industry remains exempt from EPA regulation and the laws that ensure the safety of our drinking water. The Senate must close the fracking loopholes in the Clean Water Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act.

  • No Drilling in the Arctic and Atlantic
Invoking the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, which grants the president power to protect the places where drilling is most dangerous. President Obama declared a ban on all future oil and gas drilling for 115 million acres of the Arctic and 31 Atlantic canyons just last month. Reversing the drilling ban would be dangerously irresponsible for this pristine wilderness and our planet. Yet Sen. Dan Sullivan and Rep. Don Young (both of Alaska) are considering legislation to authorize President-elect Trump to overturn the bans once he takes office. We must urge our Senators uphold the ban on offshore drilling in these regions. Add your name to our petition to keep the Arctic and Atlantic protected -- forever.

  • Remove Mark Hulsey from the Bench for Judicial Misconduct and abuse of power
I was a witness to this Judge's misconduct, deception and prejudice in courtroom 508, Duval County Florida. He's under investigation that has been dragging on too long. The sheer number and scope of the charges ( 14 and likely to grow in numbers. From stating to a staff attorney that black people should get back on a boat and go back to Africa, to calling a female member of his staff a b****and a c***, and having staff perform his personal duties for him.) against him make him unfit to be a Judge making decisions that affect people's very lives. Before time causes the people forget, the people must act. Every case he presided over other than those of white heterosexual males, should be retried before an unbiased Judge regardless of the expense to the state. This means Gay men and women. transexuals, Hispanics and African Citizens, as racism more often than not goes hand in hand with bigotry towards all people who do not fit one's image of themselves. This investigation into Mark Hulsey must not slip under the radar nor be forgotten! Everyone deserves a fair trial and I myself witnessed his bigotry and abuse of the system for personal gain, later proven through investigation. He must not be allowed to slip through the cracks!
