• Make Campaign Intimidation Illegal
Our country has just elected a candidate whose behavior on the campaign trail was an affront to democracy. This is not about political issues. A law can be crafted that does not limit free speech but does clearly define actions that must never be allowed. Donald Trump encouraged his supporters to attack peaceful protestors, he made statements that amounted to sponsoring violence (e.g "Seriously, okay, just knock the hell. I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees; I promise, I promise."). His actions went beyond revoking credentials of journalists from news organizations that he felt provided unfair coverage, singled out one journalist at several rallies drawing jeers from the crowd of thousands.

  • Obama: Appoint Prosecutor to Investigate James Comey, FBI's illegal interference in Election.
The FBI had no business getting involved in the election in such an obviously partisan way. The consequences of this election are going to affect all Americans. The winning party is no longer even hiding their desire to suppress the rights of average Americans. We need to make sure that the FBI will be on the side of the American People.

  • Stop Presidential Transfer of Power to Trump
We propose that the constitutional transfer of presidential power to Trump does not take place until the following occurs: - The president elect's ownership and any future involvement in the Trump organization creates a conflict of interest with the office of the presidency. Trump plans to put his children in control of his corporation, this does not eliminate conflicts of interest. A blind trust would not be sufficient to reconcile this issue as Trump's memory can not be deleted. The legal entanglements of the Trump organization must be investigated and resolved. This is a conflict of interest by law in which he would not be able to objectively run the country in a way that would benefit and protect its citizens without personal interests and financial gains impeding. -Until all criminal charges of fraud regarding Trump University are cleared. -Until all criminal charges of rape, criminal sexual acts, sexual abuse, forcible touching, assault, battery, and other charges are cleared (hearing December 16 in NY. Case number 1:16-cv-07674-RA) -Until ties with a known hate organization (KKK) are severed -Until he condemns all hate crimes committed in his name. Trump's silence and lack of response to the surge in hate crimes since his election is the same as condoning them. He is not fit to defend ALL citizens in the US or to protect our rights under the constitution.

  • Donald Trump: Speak Out Against Recent Violence
An influx of hate crimes has occurred against racial minorities, muslims, the LGBT community and women since the Trump campaign has begun. Donald Trump spoke to many people and moved them to the polls, but he also mocked and legitimized hate towards the above groups of people in his rallies. Because of this many individuals have been the victims of verbal & physical violence by Trump Supporters, particularly since Election Night. We call on you President Elect Donald J. Trump, Vice President Elect Mike Pence & Speaker Paul Ryan to immediately and emphatically speak out against this violence and tell your supporters that this violence will not be condoned in our country.

  • Ask Trump to Denounce the Hate Crimes
Not too far from where I live, a Saudi college student named Hussain Saeed Alnahdi was beaten and killed on the street in heavily Republican and rural Menomonie, Wisconsin. I am also acquainted with others throughout the United States whose property has been damaged and who have been slandered by racial and hateful language. They are living with fear as the violence increases and have a right to be protected. We must not give into cynicism and despair, but rather we must unite together and insist on justice and compassion. {NOTE: From November 14th onward I'd like to redirect signers to this petition instead, so to not duplicate our efforts too much: https://www.splcenter.org/tell-donald-trump-reject-hate-and-bigotry-0 I will still submit the signatures that are here to Donald Trump in one way or another. Thank you, Julia Walsh)

  • Palm Oil Labeling
We feel it is necessary for companies to write "palm oil" on their product labels and not the other 295 names which mean the same thing. Palm oil is connected to many shady operations, including child labor and poaching. Also, if you want to see the 295 names, they are here: http://www.palmoilinvestigations.org/names-for-palm-oil.html

  • EPA- Protect Connecticut Drinking Water
Connecticut's drinking water has been found to contain chromium-6, which is reported by the EPA as extremely toxic and a human carcinogen (cancer causing agent). Specifically, the town in which I live with my three children, Hazardville, has been found to have the highest levels in the state. The EPA currently allows for 100 ppb (parts per billion) of chromium-6, based on old research that only supposes this as a safe level. In a March 21, 2016 release by www.ctpost.com it is reported that "Connecticut has one of the highest cancer rates in America". We cannot say whether this is related to chromium-6, but neither can we deny that it may be. It is time for the EPA to act in favor of people having safe drinking water. Not merely for Hazardville, a subsection of Enfield, Connecticut, but for all of Connecticut and the country. Please help in asking the EPA and legislators for stronger regulation of chromium-6, by signing your name. Today one small town's drinking water, tomorrow every small town's.

  • President-Elect Trump: Address your supporters directly to ask them to stop racist, xenophobic an...
There are multiple reports of minorities being assaulted and attacked by Trump supporters all over the country. Gay people and immigrants are getting beaten, shouted at, humiliated, and prosecuted. Buildings are being tagged with xenophobic racist messages. Non-white children are being terrorized by other children in school. Friends of mine have been targeted.
