  • Require 5 Years of Tax Returns as a condition of being placed on any ballot as a candidate for Pr...
The 2016 Presidential Election demonstrated a glaring loophole in the information available to voters about one of the presidential aspirants. Candidate Donald Trump did not provide his tax information and, consequently, the voting public did not have any way to know what, if any, conflicts of interest, foreign entanglements and influences might be brought to bear upon him. We still do not have that information. Now that we know and recognize this loophole, we can and should close it by requiring all candidates to allow the public to have the information they need to make intelligent decisions about who will lead the nation.

  • Senator Gardner: Hold open and accessible weekend town halls
Senator Gardner's offices around Colorado and in DC have been sending calls directly to voicemail. He is supposed to work for his constituents, yet we are unable to share our concerns. Senator Gardner should hold multiple open and accessible town halls in the coming weeks and months for all his constituents so that he can hear directly from Coloradans who are personally affected by how he votes in the Senate.

  • Demand the release of President Trump's Tax Returns
I am hoping this petition will act as a vehicle to clearly communicate the wishes of the American People surrounding the release of information from the Presidents we elect. The choice of our current President not to adopt the standard practice of releasing his/her tax returns, sets a precedent that could lead to unintended consequence which could be damaging to our country. I am hoping we can convince the current Administration, that this is a very important issue to the American People and their current inaction needs to be reversed.

  • Tell news outlets: Remove Kellyanne Conway's access
MSNBC recently announced that Kellyanne Conway will not be invited back to one of its most popular programs, "Morning Joe." And, earlier this week, the Office of Government Ethics formally requested an investigation into whether Conway violated standards of conduct by promoting Ivanka Trump's products while being interviewed on Fox News' "Fox & Friends." Falsehoods rebranded as "alternative facts" and unethical product plugs for Trump family's businesses have no place in real news. Kellyanne Conway is not the only problem. But she's often called to clean up for the lies and deceptions of her boss and colleagues—and we have to start somewhere in showing that we won't tolerate lies from the Trump administration. Let's start an online movement imploring the press, including NBC, ABC, and CBS to stop providing a podium to Trump's spokespeople—starting with Kellyanne Conway—from which they can spread falsehoods. Together, we can help keep the vulnerable Fourth Estate strong in the face of an administration that seeks to dismantle it. We can't let Donald Trump destroy factually-correct journalism.

  • Do not approve Betsy DeVos for Education Secretary!
The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions is scheduled to vote on her January 31st. We feel that she does not have the knowledge, the experience or the skills necessary to be the Secretary of Education. Her direction would create segregated schools and increase the gap between people who have money and those who don't. She is not knowledgeable about special education laws and other programs to implement federally required programs.

  • Make your state require tax and ethics disclosure for all candidates on the ballot
We must initiate change at the state and local level to ensure that national office holders are not able to move forward without demonstrating these essential qualifications for national service regardless of party affiliation. These changes can be enacted state-by-state, do not require Washington's approval, and will benefit and be supported by people of good will and deep patriotism of all political views.

  • Sean Spicer: Stop lying or resign
As White House press secretary, you don't have the power to stop the president from lying, but you should not lie. If you feel you cannot serve as press secretary without lying, you must resign. The false statements you made on January 21 include saying that Mr. Trump had drawn "the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration" a statement that photographs and recorded Metro ridership numbers clearly show to be false. If the public cannot trust what the White House press secretary says, our system of government cannot function properly.

  • Caution:Cabinet Nominees
As a retired Early Childhood Educator (40 years) I am most concerned about billionaire De Vos' nomination. I can't support someone who has had NO classroom experience. I won't support a billionaire whose life experiences are so far removed from the overwhelming majority of families whose children attend our nation's schools.

  • In spirit of the Women's March, it's time for Equal Rights Amendment
As women and their supporters marched in Washington and cities around the world Saturday, Sen. Ben Cardin joined with Senate Democrats to reintroduce the Equal Rights Amendment. “Many Americans would be shocked to find out that the U.S. Constitution still lacks a provision ensuring gender equality,” the Maryland Democrat said in a statement. “Think about that: in 2017, women lack the same constitutional protections as men. This is clearly wrong and needs permanent correction.” The 28th amendment would guarantee that “equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.”

  • Tell State Reps to vote NO to Devos
Devos has little to non experience in running public educational institutions, nor teaching or heading any major organization. She has affirmed allowing guns in schools and agrees that defunding public schools is a possibility. My son attends public school and already suffers from a lack of reseources necessary to obtaining a quality education so that he can compete for acceptance to a quality University. Defunding schools is the same as defunding our children and future. Sign, to tell our State Representative to say no to defunding our future!
