I am sickened by the hateful rhetoric that is pervading our country and has even been targeted to my friends and neighbors.

This is an emergency. Our parties have put forth candidates that are both unacceptable to a simple majority of the people. Civil war may break out! There are life threatening issues at stake, like civil war, world war, and of course climate change and the 6th great extinction. We call on the entire electoral college to come together to select a new candidate for President - that is acceptable to the majority of the electors, and to be ratified by a majority of the people. This should be an open internet process.

I believe each vote must count if we want to live our most cherished values of freedom and equal opportunity.

We all have been let down by broken promises and corruption. The DNC pushed their chosen candidate and many of us myself included followed. No longer will we push DNC agenda for them. The loss to Donald Trump is unacceptable and we must be prepared to have a candidate who has the stamina and conviction to win. Jon Stewart has proven time and time again he understands the progressive agenda and has the heart to lead us.

Two popular vote elections lost - Gore now Clinton. We are not a country of hate but as long as we keep an antiquated election system we are not a free democracy - one person one vote - let all persons of age and legal status living in the USA choose - we can no longer let our fate be decided by a handful of states.

2016 is the second election in 16 years where the candidate with the most popular vote was not elected president. The Electoral College system is outdated but to pass a constitutional amendment to eliminate it is close to impossible. By having states with a majority of electoral votes agree to give their electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote will mean that in future elections the winner of the popular vote will become President. There are other benefits for elections to be decided by popular vote. With the current system only swing states get the attention of candidates. Other states with solid majorities for either party are ignored as are the issues that are most important to the voters of these states. It is also true that the Electoral College means that the value of a vote is not the same in each state. When elections are decided by popular vote all votes are equal. We should not be voting via the antiquated electoral college. The popular vote should elect the next president! The compact is designed to ensure that the candidate who wins the most popular votes is elected president, and it will come into effect only when it will guarantee that outcome.

Abolishing the EC would marginalize many mid America states and put too much weight on coastal states. This measure would eliminate winner take all and better represent the will of the people.

I'm starting this petition to "Re-Claim" America for her citizens. We need to mobilize the current protest energy to reclaim our great nation, and end dark money and foreign influence on our governance once and for all.
