In 2000 and 2016, the Electoral College decided the Presidential election, not the people. This should change. According to the US Constitution, our state legislatures can help with this.

The newly elected Missouri Governor Eric Greitens has pledged to pass the anti-union Right to Work Law. Right to Work is an attack on all workers, and will erode the standard of living for all Missourians, giving employers all the power over wages, benefits, and working conditions. Facts about 'Right to Work' for Less: - The average worker in 'Right to Work' states earns $6,109 (12.1%) less per year than workers in states without 'Right to Work' legislation. - Median household income in states with these laws is $8,174 (13.9%) less than in other states. - Poverty rates are higher in states with right to work laws (15.3% overall and 21.4% for children), compared with poverty rates of 12.8% overall and 18.0% for children in states without these laws - People under the age of 65 in states with right to work laws are more likely to be uninsured (13.0%, compared with 9.4% in free-bargaining states) - The rate of workplace deaths is 49% higher in states with right to work laws, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Don’t be fooled! As Martin Luther King, Jr. said in 1961, “In our glorious fight for civil rights, we must guard against being fooled by false slogans, as ‘right to work.’ It provides no ‘rights’ and no ‘works.’ Its purpose is to destroy labor unions and the freedom of collective bargaining… We demand this fraud be stopped.” Please sign this petition and share with others. The United States is a democracy. The voice of the nation's people is what guides our government through the election process. The United States utilizes an obsolete election system based on the number of congressmen and population density in each state. The Electoral College is a flawed system because a candidate can win by a landslide in one state, and lose by a few thousand votes in another, giving that candidate the most overall votes, and yet the opposing candidate can still win the election because of the way the states are weighted in the Electoral College. This is the second election in recent history where the voters favored one candidate, but the Electoral College appointed the opposing candidate to the presidency. In doing so, our democratic process has failed the citizens of this nation and disempowered the voters in the election process. We, the undersigned, move to change our election system to one where the true majority rules and every vote counts. We wish to see future elections utilize the Popular Vote to elect officials to our country's highest office, and end the use of the Electoral College.

It is evident that several members of Congress have been derelict in their sworn duty to uphold the US Constitution and thus limit the power and balance of the Judicial branch of our Government. That action leaves our nation at risk of the SCOTUS being handicapped in properly keeping a balance of judicial equity. In an emergency situation that requires the SCOTUS make life and death decisions those Congressional members are in fact damaging the constitutional function required for our Democracy to operate in the best interest of the people of the United States of America

I am starting this petition because I want to make our country a better place, and right now people of color, LGBTQ people, women, Muslims, and other marginalized groups are living in fear.

The issue is critical now the new (unified) US government to be sworn in in January intends to proceed with dismantling of Obamacare in first 100 days of the Trump administration. Collection of continuing campaign funding and other resources will be required, and considerable infrastrastructure for campaign needs to be assembled--just when we thought we would be able to relax.

With Islam being the second most populated religion, Muslims still do not get school days off. The Christians, as well as he Jews have been getting days off for their holidays. Being a Muslim, I have had to skip classes in order to celebrate my holiday. I ask on behalf of the 1.6 billion Muslims population on this earth, to give a day off of school for at least one of Islamic holidays.

I am a bisexual white male, who just has good friends of other skin colors that I am tired of seeing completely taken advantage of by the higher class. I'm tired of seeing the higher classes get people who specifically ring true to them on GOP side. I'm tired of the Democratic thinking small moves are the way to go. I'm tired of the gridlock that spanned for most of Obama's presidency. If he had been allowed to push through ACA earlier(GOP shutting down congress) we could have had something that actually worked by the time he left office. Instead the incomplete mess that we have will be scrapped and millions will lose insurance, this is not a better situation the better situation at least would have been to work from what we had.

With Al Gore, and now with Hillary Clinton, it is obvious that the population vote doesn't matter. I want my voice to matter. I want my vote to COUNT.
