You can do anything."—Donald Trump, 20051 In the wake of this audio released on Friday, most prominent Republican leaders have expressed their shock at Trump's words, many of them have gone so far as to call for him to step aside. But the fact of the matter is that the Republican party created Trump. They elevated and supported him as he made countless other vile statements. And now, they don't get to un-tangle themselves from him because they've finally figured out that he's unfit to lead our country. This is not the first time Trump has made appaling comments about other individuals and groups of people, but apparently for many Republican leaders, this was the breaking point. But, with less than a month to go until the election, it's too little, too late. When it comes to Trump, his candidacy is squarely on the shoulders of the Republican party. And you better believe that we'll hold each and every Republican who perpetuated his rise accountable on Election Day.

This petition is needed because Pawtucket has been through enough with the PawSox fiasco and the closure of the Memorial Hospital Birthing Center and ICU. Why is it always Pawtucket that gets abused? From Larry Lucchino(PawSox) to Dennis Keefe(Memorial hospital) to this slumlord, Pawtucket lacks any sort of defense against the governor and state house leaders allowing wealthy individuals to come in and ravage our local economy and suck every last dime out of our struggling community.

Because I am appalled, disgusted and angry that the Republican Party would even consider allowing this man to run for the most respected office in the world. His misogynistic rhetoric is an offense to all women everywhere.

• The City DPW and Community Development departments have advanced this project devoid of meeting the State policy requirement to consult and collaborate with affected businesses, residents, other City departments or State Agencies throughout the planning process. • Freight operation is not a considered criteria of the plan. Tractor trailers, large emergency equipment, and passenger buses will not be able to safely negotiate the small-scale rotary from all directions. • The City Council believed their vote of approval endorsed the State’s Complete Streets program and in a subsequent phase a list of priority projects, with a focus on safety around schools, would be developed. • Repeated requests by the public for crash data and documents that have been submitted to the State have gone unanswered. • The 2012 hotel traffic study did not recommend a rotary or major reconfiguration, merely some lane markings and signage. Crash data for Tally’s corner shows it to be lower than the State average. • This plan impedes the iconic view of Harbor Cove and the working waterfront when the program provides for context sensitive approaches. Harbor Cove and Tally’s Corner have been identified in a Heritage Landscape report submitted to the State as part of the City’s cultural and aesthetic landscape to be preserved.

The 2016 presidential campaign is unique in the history of our nation in that it is the first time that the sanity of one of the candidates has been called repeatedly into question based upon documented statements and actions. The American people have been exposed to a barrage of messages both online and in other forms of media which blurr the lines between entertainment and news. I believe many voters are no longer able to judge the mental fitness of a candidate due to prolonged exposure to an unprecidented amount of biased, inaccurate, and deliberately deceptive information about both candidates. When faced with what we now know is the very real possibility that we could elect a mentally unstable person to the office of president, it is only prudent that we take steps to prevent this now and going forward. The future of our Democracy and our very lives is at stake.

Thanks to a leaked video from 2005 published by The Washington Post, we’ve all heard Trump gloating to Billy Bush about how he uses fame and power to grope and harass women. “When you’re a star, they let you do it,” Trump says in the video. "You can do anything." This is beyond sleazy. Trump is showing off his ability commit abuse, and this kind of misogyny must be rejected in no uncertain terms. Republicans like Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, and Mike Pence like to talk about themselves as men of traditional values. I was raised with those values too, and wonder how in the world anyone with a basic sense of decency could continue to support Trump. Please join me in telling GOP leaders that enough is enough. Trump’s lukewarm “apology” (saying he never claimed to be perfect) just doesn’t cut it, and the scolding from party leaders is equally inadequate. Republicans must immediately reject Trump, pull their endorsements, and make it clear they do not support this disgusting man as the next President of our nation.

Sexual assault is a deadly serious issue. One in 6 American women is a survivor of attempted or completed rape. One in 5 women is assaulted in college. On Friday, October 7, video surfaced of Republican nominee Donald Trump bragging to Billy Bush about serial sexual assault he committed over his career. Trump's comments include the lines: "And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.” “Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.” For years, NBC elevated Trump and turned a blind eye to his predatory and illegal behavior. It is time for NBC to hold Trump accountable. Sexual assault is not a laughing matter. I urge Saturday Night Live to make tonight's cold-open a serious and meaningful discussion of the toll sexual assault takes on survivors--and of course on those who do not survive. While NBC owes substantially more accountability, it can start with Saturday Night Live. Please do right by every survivor of abuse by Trump and men like him.

As a Peace Corps volunteer I learned that helping others for a significant period of time and learning to speak a foreign language increased my understanding of the world and my own country making me a better citizen. A leader who is responsible for sending others to defend their country must have personal experience of having done the same to fully understand the consequences of that action.

Burrowing owls in California are in grave danger of eviction. Eviction is when a one-way door is placed in the owl's burrow entrance in order to get them to leave property slated for development. Once the owl leaves the burrow, it is unable to get back into its shelter. This process disorients the owls and makes them an easy target for predators and motor vehicle accidents. The California Fish and Wildlife Department admits they do not know the fate of evicted owls and also admits the owls suffer when evicted. In order to stop this process, we want to urge the Assembly Water, Parks, and Wildlife committee to hold an oversight hearing to fully examine burrowing owl evictions.

And yet, the majority of these same prominent Republican leaders—from Kelly Ayotte to John McCain to Paul Ryan—continue to endorse Donald Trump for president. Time after time, when Trump has said or done something offensive, Republicans have gone on the record as denouncing his words or actions but have refused to take the necessary next step and un-endorse him. These Republican leaders can't have it both ways: it's time to either back up their words with actions, and un-endorse Trump once and for all, or continue to stand with a racist, xenophobic misogynist unfit for political office.

I am concerned about the livability of our planet and the cost of climate disasters for our future generations. I want to be able to say I did my best to leave a better world.
