  • Tell Starbucks: Dump Trump!
Despite his history of racist, sexist and xenophobic comments, Starbucks continues to operate stores in buildings named after Donald Trump including Trump Tower and Trump Taj Mahal. Here are some recent Trump actions: * Trump immediately exploited the attacks in Brussels to call again for building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and for a ban to prevent Muslims including Muslim-Americans from entering the country. * Trump attacked Mexicans and called them "murderers" and "rapists." * Trump endorsed and encouraged violence against Black Lives Matter as well as other anti-Trump demonstrators. * Trump has refused to consistently denounce and reject support from the KKK and other hate groups. Donald Trump’s bigotry stands in direct opposition to the Starbucks brand. For example, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz’s public statement in support of marriage equality showed that the company values all people. Trump, on the other hand, has promised to round up and deport 12 million immigrants. That’s not what Starbucks stands for! Starbucks should immediately disentangle itself from its business relationship with Trump and begin relocating its stores that are in Trump owned properties.

  • Tell Starbucks: We want our lattes without the Trump aftertaste
Despite his history of racist, sexist and xenophobic comments, Starbucks continues to operate stores in buildings named after Donald Trump including Trump Tower and Trump Taj Mahal. Here are some of Trump's recent bad actions: * Trump immediately exploited the attacks in Brussels to call again for building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and for a ban to prevent Muslims including Muslim-Americans from entering the country * Trump attacked Mexicans and called them "murderers" and "rapists." * Trump endorsed and encouraged violence against Black Lives Matter as well as other anti-Trump demonstrators * Trump has refused to consistently denounce and reject support from the KKK and other hate groups. • Speaker DeLeo: Get Solar Back on Track!
Solar projects have been stalled across Massachusetts for more than a year – putting energy savings, local jobs and community health on the line. Solar is stalled for communities, low-income families, schools and businesses due to an unnecessary cap on Massachusetts’ most successful solar program – net metering. Recently, 100 Massachusetts Representatives called on House leaders to take action now and pass a strong solar bill. [1] We need you to join them and tell our elected leaders: don’t let the sun set on solar! • Bernie Sanders: Go on The Young Turks!
I believe that Bernie Sanders is the only option for President of the United States. I believe he is the only one who can bring America back to the era of great prosperity that we once had. However, Senator Sanders needs more press coverage. He needs to galvanize his base. And who are his base? Progressive voters who want to reclaim America from the big banks, Wall Street, and corporate powers. We want to reclaim America from an establishment that only works to maintain the power of those who have NOT been working for us. Because of this, I believe that Senator Sanders NEEDS to appear on the largest online news network possible, one that reaches those voters. This network is The Young Turks. If Senator Sanders wants to galvanize his base, so they GET OUT AND VOTE, then his best decision is to appear on The Young Turks.

  • Serra High School supports SB 876
Junipero Serra High School is participating in a "Lenten Justice Project" where our focus is on raising money and awareness for the financially impoverished of San Mateo County. We also want to make policy changes. The bay area is a very expensive place to live. More and more people are becoming homeless because of the cost of living and low wages. We don't want to kick them off the streets or make criminals out of them for not having a place to call home. Our mission is to be in solidarity with and to fight for those who don't have a roof over their heads.

  • Why is the EPA ignoring millions of US citizens?
There are about 2.4 million people who live in the United States but are effectively ignored by the Environmental Protection Agency. How is this possible? They live in prisons. It is appalling that our government is exempting millions of people from basic environmental and health safeguards. Prisoners aren't the only ones harmed by this indifference -- prison guards, visitors, and neighbors feel the harmful effects of toxic policies. Tell the EPA: environmental justice does not stop at the prison gates.

  • Honor LGBT history with a new monument
New York City's Stonewall Inn served as a catalyst for the modern gay rights movement in 1969 after an early morning police raid outraged the city's LGBT community. With the stroke of his pen, President Obama can establish a national monument and secure an everlasting legacy for this iconic landmark. He already has the backing of LGBT advocacy groups and local community leaders. Help create the nation's first national park unit focusing on LGBT Americans!

  • Remove the Classification 1 from Cannabis/Marijuana
It is the right thing to do, it is necessary to do; we must end the destroying of hundreds of thousands of young lives by criminalizing them for a harmless natural substance wrongly criminalized to enhance profits over people.

  • Nuclear Security Summit: 15,000 Nuclear Weapons Do Not Keep Us Safe
On March 31, world leaders will gather for the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, D.C. to take steps to prevent an act of nuclear terrorism. Their approach is focused solely on securing nuclear material. The world's 15,000 nuclear weapons -- which pose a far greater risk of catastrophe -- aren’t even on the agenda. There can be no such thing as "nuclear security" so long as nuclear weapons exist. If we're serious about preventing a nuclear catastrophe, what we need now is a Nuclear Weapons Summit that brings the key countries together to discuss real, time-bound, actionable plans to eliminate nuclear weapons. Join us as we tell these leaders it’s time to put this at the top of the international agenda!
