Because we are not on the Census Form, we don't exist, when in fact there are 21 Million Descendants of American Slaves living in America. The U.S. Census Bureau is considering whether to drop some questions that it has used for decades from its largest household survey of Americans. Maybe it should consider adding Descendants of American Slaves (DAS) as an option for Ethnicity. Play is a vital part of learning and childhood, but time to play is declining in Kindergarten and elementary classrooms. For example, today's Kindergarten classrooms have fewer sand tables, dramatic play areas, and art supplies than in 1998. More time is spent with worksheets. To support and encourage teachers to include and allow play, we should mandate a minimum amount of play time and playful materials be included in the classroom.

Not only does factors like these contribute to voter suppression, but goes everything democracy and our country stand for. Superdelegates just like delegates themselves should be held accountable to their constituency, they are the ones that voted you into office, now that you are there it is your JOB to adhere to your voters demands. Polls showed Sanders leading 60-40 just prior to this primary. Thousands of Independents who registered as Democrats to vote for Sanders couldn't vote because "official records" didn't reflect their registration. Any adjustments for "next time" ignore the fact that popular will is being short-circuited and the Democratic Party needs to look different from the Republicans in cases of election fraud. Democratic elites and Clinton supporters aren't going to complain, so we must.

Thanks to North Carolina's HB2, passed hastily on the hush-hush, it's legal in the state for businesses to discriminate based on sexual orientation or gender identity. The ACLU has called the law the "most extreme anti-LGBT measure in the country." Businesses don't like the law and have been speaking out against it, hoping to pressure our state to reconsider. The NBA voiced deep concern that "this discriminatory policy runs counter to our guiding principles of equality and mutual respect and do not yet know what impact it will have on our ability to successfully host the 2017 All-Star Game in Charlotte." Losing the All-Star Game would be a tragedy for North Cack. But the NBA is missing the point. The law doesn't have to be anti-LGBT. The game could still be a success, and even take advantage of new freedoms: the NBA could just bar every straight, non-LGBT fan from the game! We could still watch from home, no sweat. It's legal, and surely in the spirit of what Governor Pat McCrory and the legislature had in mind when they passed the bill. Plus, the after-parties would be great. As a law-abiding North Carolinian, it would make me proud to keep the All-Star Game, and do it like only we can.

The Mineral Extraction Overlay is unlawful; Penn Township should revise the ordinance to limit industrial oil and gas activities to the industrial zones. By using this MEO, Penn Township is converting most of the agricultural zone into an industrial zone. This upends the investment-backed expectations of the people who moved to the agricultural zones, which violates principles of due process. There is no indication that Penn Township first evaluated the impacts to water, air, human health, aesthetics and the other values protected by Article I Section 27 of the Pennsylvania Constitution; that constitutes a violation of the constitution because it fails to ensure that citizens will not suffer harm to their constitutionally protected interests and because it constitutes a failure of Penn Township to fulfill its constitutional duty to be a trustee of public natural resources. By blanketing existing zones with a new use that is out of character of the zoned land beneath it, the MEO is an impermissible application of the township’s zoning power. While municipalities do have the power to use zoning laws to regulate the gas industry, they must apply those laws in a way that are constitutional, and follow established legal precedent on zoning laws. The MEO District produces just such an irrational scheme by allowing a single type of industrial use – natural gas development – in otherwise non-industrial zones. PLEASE GIVE FULL ADDRESS
