Alice Paul, (1885-1977) devoted her life to equal rights for women. She was jailed, beaten, force fed raw eggs, yet never wavered in her push for the right to vote for women, and the Equal Rights Amendment. Secretary Lew has stated that a woman will be on the $10. bill in celebration of the 19th Amendment. Let's honor Alice Paul by having her face shine for the 100 year anniversary of her leadership, of women getting the right to vote.

In light of this great win why should we have to put up with more discrimination. And in a place meant for us to feel safe and accepted.

We have been experiencing record low snow falls, drought conditions, record temperatures, wild fires and flooding in different parts of the state which continue to escalate in severity year by year. It is time to stop using annual funding and independent climate studies and guidelines to respond to these disasters. We must now create a long-range strategic plan with permanent funding for the construction of new infrastructure, conservation incentive programs and regulations that will allow us to deal with these issues proactively.

This petition is to legalize marijuana for everyone, except for kids. It's safer than booze and I believe God created the plant for us to use for pain and so forth. Marijuana has no bad side effects.

The U.S. Supreme Court has exceeded its mandate under the U.S. Constitution to adjudicate--not create--legislation. We, the PEOPLE have the right to govern ourselves in America. We need to get the power back into the hands of the people through our ELECTED representatives.

Hours after the U.S. Supreme Court legalized same sex marriage across the country on Friday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott told his department directors to not take action against any state officials who act or refuse to act on account of their "sincere religious belief." "This order applies to any agency decision, including but not limited to granting or denying benefits, managing agency employees, entering or enforcing agency contracts, licensing and permitting decisions, or enforcing state laws and regulations," Abbott wrote. These are only two examples. Such flagrant violations of people's rights cannot go unanswered.

Dear Neighbors, I feel compelled to discuss an important issue with you. At the next Collier Board of Commissioners meeting scheduled for July 8 at 7:00 P.M. at the Municipal Building there will be a discussion regarding a proposed zoning change. This change would adversely effect us all. There will also be a public hearing several weeks thereafter during which each of us has an opportunity to give testimony against this proposed zoning change. As soon as the public hearing date is set, I will communicate that to you. The proposed zoning change would cause the following: 1. Major increase in traffic along Hilltop Road. 2. Town-homes crammed onto a narrow strip of land, with their sides facing the valley, would be an eyesore negatively affecting our property values. 3. Questions remain regarding the ability of the ground to withstand a large number of town homes perched precariously above a very steep slope. 4. There is the potential for runoffs from the sewer system onto neighboring properties.
