• Don't Fire the Tyrone public school cafeteria employees!
The Tyrone School Board wants to subcontract the 38 cafeteria employees who work in the Tyrone Public Schools. It is wrong for the school board to allow an out of town for profit corporation to make a profit off our students! And it is wrong to fire these dedicated employees!

  • Memorandum on the cultivation of alfalfa for export during drought years.
The drought in California will affect the world economy and food sources on a detrimental scale. Alfalfa wastes thousands of acre-feet of water with the majority being exported overseas with minimum benefit to Americans. We need to stop the cultivation of alfalfa and other feed crops that are bound for export so that California and the United States can sustain themselves during drought years.

  • Stop attacks on Nevada teachers, nurses and others who keep our communities safe and strong
Radical Republicans in Carson City are pushing multiple bills to silence the voices of teachers, firefighters, nurses and other public service workers who keep our communities safe and strong. A.B. 280 and other bills would take away collective bargaining rights for these everyday heroes, making it harder for them to advocate for smaller class sizes, safer staffing levels at hospitals and better equipment to improve response times for fires. This kind of legislation isn’t necessary and it isn’t something that Nevada’s voters asked for. Similar laws are being promoted all over the country by a well-coordinated network of big corporations and special interest groups. These are the same groups that favor the downsizing, outsourcing and privatization of government services and oppose equal pay for equal work among men and women. Sign the petition to tell our legislators to oppose bill A.B. 280 and any other laws that would silence the voices of firefighters, teachers, nurses and other workers to speak out to keep our communities safe.

  • Urge Oregon Governor Kate Brown to issue an Executive Order recognizing the Una Tribe of Mixed-Bl...
The Native American Mixed-Bloods have been denied their rights to self-determination and identity for hundreds of years in the United States. Let's follow our sister-country, Canada, and recognize this Native American Mixed-Blood tribe. The tribe want NO benefits, lands, grants, or monies whatsoever; simply recognition. President Obama signed the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, thus, by denying the executive order, the Governor is going not only against the President, but the United Nations.

  • Alderman Moreno: Move Forward with 2293 N. Milwaukee Avenue Redevelopment Project at the April 16...
I'm a transportation planning professional who has lived in the area for many years. I want to continue to see reinvestment in urban environments and a more stable future for the community. In my daily work I grapple with the reality of projected congestion in Chicago and TOD is one of the few direct tools the city has that can help continue to make the city a livable environment! Many other cities in the USA and internationally have fully embraced TOD, while Chicago continues to lag behind. At the same time, traffic congestion in Chicago is among the worst in the nation!

  • Make them post the price, please.
Hospitals might be the only business in America that gets away with keeping their prices a secret. This prevents competition, drives up health care costs, and leaves consumers in the dark. Hospitals should post their actual prices on the web, just like every other business.

  • Don't cut library network services in Connecticut.
I am a user of the library and have found it very helpful to be able to reserve all sorts of library material such as books, DVDs and CDs from all over the state. The library just recently started a weekly email called Wowbury that lets you know which new material is available.

  • 7 Eleven
Here in Evansville, we feel very left-out, we want to be apart of the 7Eleven franchise, help them prosper. In Evansville, you'll find great opportunities for business. As well, we do technically have a "Seven-Eleven", but that is some fake knockoff. They don't have any slurpees, just a bunch of fat drunken mid-40s men who are going through a mid-life crisis, from being divorced, or just being charged with child neglect, no one likes it over-there, and for all we care, you can tear that down and plant your seed ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) So please, 7 Eleven, give us a PROPER 7-Eleven, we'd greatly appreciate it, and when you're at it, take out that knockoff, you'll be doing us all a favor.

  • Support ITT-Tech Warriors
ITT-Technical Institute targeted veterans, low income families and single parents. We were promised a quality education, 80% job placement and that our credits would transfer to other colleges and universities. They forced many of us to pay on our loans while we were in school, after telling us we did not have to pay anything out of pocket until after we graduated. The school never gave us a chance to have control of our financial destiny; they failed to tell students before signing the enrollment agreement that their financial aide would be maxed out by the school. In order for a student to finish the program, they will have to take out the "Temp Credit" through the school at 0% interest until paid off; that was a lie. The school turned around and sold those loans to private lenders with interest rates ranging from 13%-28%; it's like funding your education on a credit card. These were terms set by the banks and the school without the student ever being notified. This is a violation of the Truth In Lending Act. Many students were forced to quit their programs before ever gaining their degrees, because they were misled. Others stuck it out, to find out that their degrees hold no value due to the accreditation, value of education and their reputation. We are students, family, friends and supporters that will not stop fighting to get these loans forgiven. Education should be free in the country, putting a end to the predatory lending and the poverty it is creating. "Our voices will be heard." We stand with you, Corinthian 100, Strength in Solidarity. https://www.facebook.com/groups/ITTTechnicalInstituteLawsuitWarriors/
