• Stop Shell from drilling for oil in the Arctic!
Right now, Shell is trying to get approval from the US government to start Arctic drilling off the remote coast of Alaska this summer. But President Obama has the power to stop the drills - and Shell. With his recent Keystone XL pipeline veto, it’s clear Obama wants to use his last term in office to leave behind a strong climate legacy. Tell Obama to make the Alaskan Arctic off limits to oil drilling now!

  • All for the want of a train track nail
We need to take care of our infrastructure so that human beings can get to their jobs, spend time with their families, travel without risk. I do not understand why legislative bodies cannot grapple with this basic fact. I commute from New Jersey into Manhattan for work and for fun. I know Mr. Christie couldn't give a darn about me and my liberal ways, but every single lateness on my train is caused by Amtrak switches being broken, bridges not closing right, wires subject to high winds. These things cost NJ millions in worker revenues. Why cannot the transit, whether it be roads, bridges, dams, tracks, whatever, why can't that be funded adequately to keep people safe? Even if Amtrak is a losing Congressional proposition, surely we in NJ, who have so much Amtrak rail, could chip in to bring it into the 21st century to save NJ lives? And worker headaches? Surely?

  • Petition to the City of Denver to enact rent control.
The apartment building in which I live just increased my rent by 13 percent after a 6 month lease. My family could barely afford to pay the original amount. This is extortion and something needs to be done to stop these people.

  • BRING BACK THE OLD LPS!
I love making videos to entertain others on YouTube with the old LPS. The new ones are creepy and un-original. Plus, I might lose viewers! And it's $10.00-300.00 for a good LPS on eBay!

  • Senator Bernie Sanders at Brooklyn College
Bernie Sanders was born in Brooklyn and benefited from the public school system. Today, public college tuition rises each year, students struggle to pay their debt, and after graduation struggle to obtain jobs. We are asking Bernie Sanders for solutions to revive the public education system in this country and how we the students can shape the future.

  • Please Support Pennsylvania's Moratorium on Executions
    * Since 1973, at least 150 men and women, including six in Pennsylvania, have walked off our nation’s death rows after evidence revealed that they were sentenced to die for crimes they did not commit. * The DNA era has taught us that murder cases are often riddled with problems, including mistaken eyewitnesses, incompetent lawyers, shoddy forensics, jailhouse snitches, and coerced confessions, but DNA alone can’t solve the problem because it isn’t available in most cases. * About 90% of those persons facing capital charges cannot afford to hire their own attorney. On the national level, poor defendants sentenced to die have been represented by attorneys who were drunk, asleep, or completely inexperienced. The death penalty is like a lottery of geography, race, and socio-economic status: * Almost 80% of those executed in the U.S. were convicted of murdering a white person even though people of color are the victims in about half of all homicides. * Numerous states have found that a large percentage of death sentences originate from just one county. * The death penalty is supposed to be reserved for “the worst of the worst” – but many times the most heinous crimes end up with a deal or a life sentence while robberies “gone wrong” or even accomplices are sentenced to die. The death penalty’s long and complicated process has been harmful to murder victims’ families: * The death penalty process is longer because a life is on the line. Yet the extra time has delayed justice for victims’ families, sometimes leaving them in limbo for decades wondering if the sentence will be carried out. * Capital cases are so riddled with errors that the majority of them are reversed at some point – forcing victims’ families to endure one retrial after another. * The death penalty has split families apart, forcing relatives with different views on capital punishment to engage in a polarizing debate at the time when they need each other most.

  • Age Discrimination Equinox Fitness and Sara Ross Jewlery
Equinox Fitness owned by The Related Company just launched the new 2015 "New Direction" campaign, and thousands of Equinox members feel that they are being discriminated against because of age and body shape. Group Fitness classes catering to the 40+ members are being cut and replaced in with Equinox signature "Boot Camp" style classes. Employees over 40 have been let go by Equinox as they do not fit into the 'new direction'. Managers, trainers and group fitness instructors were fired despite success and popularity and despite the following protest by members. Any attempt to contact the head office has either been ignored or those who did get a response were provided with false information by Equinox upper management, such as COO Scott Rosen. The main director and designer of this 'New Direction' campaign, Sarah O'Hagan, is a busy mummy and never responds. She says you can contact her on twitter. But guess what, she never responds. Not learning the lessons from prior campaigns in 2013 when member protested against racy and discriminating ads #notably in front of the day care#, Equinox headquarter is continuing with advertising age and body type discriminating posters and firing 40+ year old employees in 2015. Sign our petition if you feel that you are being discriminated against by Equinox Fitness as a member or a current/former employee of Equinox, either for age or body shape discrimination, and join us in boycotting Equinox Fitness and it's parent companies to stop future discrimination once and for all. All discrimination is wrong, be it age or body shape!

  • 3 U.S. Senators broke Military Law, Resign from the Armed Forces Active Reserves NOW
From Stephen R. Jesionka, Master Sergeant, U.S. Marine Corps, (Retired) People have a right to freedom of speech in America. But, military members do not have UNLIMITED free speech. They cannot criticize the US, the president, the government, or the armed forces, as this is against military law. Of the 47 Republican, US senators who signed the recent letter to the Iranian government, three are currently serving as US military officers in the US armed forces reserves. By signing the letter to Iran, these three officers violated US military law. These three senators wear two hats: one of a US senator and one of a US military officer. But these are two different hats; one hat does NOT negate the other. Military members take an oath several times during their careers, part of which is: “I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same,……” The US senators who are also active reserve military officers are: Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina - Colonel Graham belongs to the US Air Force active reserves. Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa - Lieutenant Colonel Ernst belongs to the Iowa Army National Guard. Senator Dan Sullivan of Alaska - Lieutenant Colonel Sullivan belongs to the US Marine Corps Reserves. The Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) forms the basis of military law. Here is a list of the UCMJ Articles that the senators /officers violated: Article 88 - “Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the president, vice president, congress, secretary of defense, secretary of a military department, secretary of transportation, or the governor or legislature of any state, territory, commonwealth, or possession where they are on duty or present shall be punished as a court martial may direct.” Article 89 - “Disrespect towards a superior commissioned officer.” The president of the United States is the commander-in-chief of all US armed forces. Article 133 - “Conduct unbecoming of an officer and a gentleman or lady.” Article 134 - “Any conduct of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces, disorder and neglect prejudicial to the good order and discipline of the armed forces.” Since 1990, at least four flag or general grade (four star) US military officers have been required to retire from the military because of actions or comments made contrary to the policies of the US. Of these four generals, three were required to retire under a Republican president. The three officers listed above are by far junior to a four star general. These three officers have disrespected, humiliated, and embarrassed the United States, the president, and the US armed forces. They must resign their military commissions and retire from the military IMMEDIATELY.

  • Remove Dr Wolk as Head of Colorado Department of Health
Dr Wolk recently stated: "I get a little bit concerned and annoyed when people try to use health as the basis of what they don't like about oil and gas." As a retired Registered Nurse and Member of Coloradans Against Fracking, I find it more than annoying that Wolk ignores and dismisses current research on the health effects of fracking pollution and is willing to allow the citizens of Colorado to remain subject to potential toxic exposure while health studies are conducted without the informed consent of participants.
