  • Investigate John Boehner for violations of FEC Laws
Section 441e of FEC law makes it illegal for, "a person to solicit, accept, or receive a contribution or donation" from a foreign national. In other words, if Speaker Boehner were to accept campaign money from Netanyahu, or use the speech to help raise money for Republicans in any way, he would be guilty of violating FEC law. Somebody needs to look into this, particularly to see if the hands of any of the Republican billionaires who obsess on Israel issues are involved in this. Section 441e also makes it illegal for "a foreign national, directly or indirectly, to make a contribution or donation of money or other thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State or local election." How is this speech not a thing of value to the Republicans?

  • Investigate John Boehner under the Logan Act
Established back in 1799, the Logan Act makes it illegal for unauthorized American citizens to negotiate with foreign governments. Violation of the act is a felony, and comes with a punishment of up to three years in prison. By inviting Prime Minister Netanyahu to speak to Congress, Speaker Boehner may have broken any number of laws, and the Department of Justice needs to investigate.

  • Morris County Freeholders Considering Resolution to Ban Churches from Receiving Historic Preserva...
For several years, our church, The First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains, has received Morris County Historic Preservation Grant Funds with the intention of restoring three of our historically registered buildings to their original and historic quality. The grant pays 80% of the cost of the work. The church funds 20%. We are grateful for what has been given to us so far, but there is much work to do. Last year, work on the Sanctuary was only partially funded and we were hoping to apply for more funds to finish that job. This year, we are also hoping to start the process for the work needed on our 1788 Stone House, Friendly Manse. The Stone House historically served as a Town Tavern, a Post Office, a stop on the Underground Railroad, a hospital, and now a residence. The church clearly sees its historical value. It would be shame to not restore its historical nature. But, if the resolution passes, historical preservation funds to churches will end, which could eventually lead to all funding for historic preservation going away. We are concerned for the ramifications in Morris County, but also statewide.

  • Schedule Industrial Hemp Bill SB375 for a hearing in the House and Pass it!
We respectfully ask that Hawaii's Industrial Hemp Bill be scheduled for a hearing in the house of Representatives by Agricultural Chair Clift Tsuji. Industrial hemp bill SB375 passed the Senate with no opposition and few amendments. The bill received over 200 written testimonies from local business, farmers and island people in favor of the hemp bill passing. The US is the world’s largest importer of industrial hemp. In 2013, the US imported over $550 million of industrial hemp. Hawaii imports over 70% of food, clothing, and shelter material. Our soils are depleted and filled with toxins from years of mono-cropping and the practice of using petrol-chemicals that go into our drinking water, streams and ocean. Most Americans know that industrial hemp IS NOT Marijuana and CANNOT GET YOU HIGH as it contains less than 0.3% THC. Industrial hemp does offer Hawaii a natural solution and opportunity not only to re-mediate our soil, but to help small and large farmers along with large agricultural companies to grow a crop without chemicals, clean up our environment and create new industry and jobs for Hawaii. The current industrial hemp law only allows 1 test site for research through the University of Hawaii, Manoa for 2 years. Expanding this research will allow quicker and more accurate knowledge of which industrial hemp variety grows best at what elevation and environmental conditions, while also allowing small and large farmers to develop and specialize in an end product that makes a small farm profitable-- encouraging a much needed economic incentive and boost for our Hawaii farmers. Let the people of Hawaii's voice be heard on this very important plant that will benefit all of Hawaii. Schedule a hearing today!

  • Boycott Netanyahu Address
Inviting Netanyahu to address Congress violates the separation of powers-- our nation's foreign policy should be led by one person, the president. Boehner’s invitation impairs our nation's ability to negotiate with other countries, shows complete disrespect for President Obama, and sets a terrible precedent. Boycotting the session would be a powerful symbolic gesture demonstrating your disapproval for the invitation.

  • Lyme Disease Exists
I have chronic Lyme disease because my primary care doctor misidentified a tick on me, removed it, then refused a to allow testing for Lyme disease. I have been forced, due to the controversy over chronic Lyme disease, to face ridicule, disbelief, discrimination, inhumane treatment, loss of family, friends, and financial resources. The CDC and IDSA must recognize chronic Lyme disease and insurance companies must pay.

  • Sen. Menendez: Stop Trying to Kill the Iran Talks
New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez has been working overtime to try to recruit Democrats to help Republicans destroy the possibility of a diplomatic agreement with Iran over its disputed nuclear program. But now he’s gotten so extreme, he’s virtually accusing Obama Administration officials of treason. Following President Obama’s pledge to veto Senator Menendez’ new Iran sanctions bill – which President Obama said “will all but guarantee that diplomacy fails” - Menendez said the Obama Administration’s stance “sounds like talking points that come straight out of Tehran." [1] [2] Sen. Menendez’s actions must be condemned. Join us in telling Sen. Menendez to stop trying to kill diplomacy by signing our petition. • Make a /kr/ board
This petition is for a startup of a korean culture board. This would benefit /mu/ users who absolutely hate /kpg/ due to the amount of non music related posts in threads and the fact that they feel like we bring no real value to their board. This too would be great for /kpg/ members where we wouldn't be forced to talk about just kpop. We would be able to discuss idols in general without being off topic as well as shows and dramas, movies, locations, food, and many other korean related things. We have a large community of over 150 people (this is evident due to a video being posted 18 hours ago and getting 225 views for just the /mu/ community) and despite not wanting to it would merge the /hr/ and /mu/ kpop community. Not only would we have a place to discuss the interest many of us have spent countless hours and had emotional investment in. The major problem that affects our community as it is now is the fact that people cannot express and talk about the topics we enjoy such as male kpop, shows etc. Without being ridiculed and banned. Is it so wrong that we can not have our own culture board when the very website we frequent was created in a love for Japanese culture? Thank you for your time and we really hope that you will consider this proposal

  • Netanyahu Is not Welcome In The U.S. Congress
The petition is about my personal disgust that Netanyahu is coming to speak to Congress even though it's just a propaganda tactic orchestrated by Boehner. Netanyahu is coming to the U.S. at the same time to speak to AIPAC, which is another breach to democracy.
