Overturn Citizens UnitedCitizens United and other recent court decisions have opened the floodgates to big money influence in our democracy, giving special interests and the wealthy more control over our government and economy than they’ve enjoyed since the Gilded Age of the late 19th century. Backed by a geyser of money supplied by ultra-wealthy donors and corporations, radical right-wing extremists swept Senate and House races across the country. The domination of politics by corporations and the mega-rich is a profound threat to democracy and freedom in the United States, and we have to fight back. Now, together with more than 50 organizations, MoveOn.org and partners at Common Cause, Free Speech For People, Money Out Voters In, People For the American Way, and Public Citizen are working to gather five million petition signatures calling for an amendment. These millions of petitions will send a strong message to members of Congress, the media and general public. Sign your name and join the millions of Americans who’ve told their lawmakers to amend the Constitution and overturn Citizens United!65 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Chip Travis

SD170---No Charter SchoolsWe are showing a united front against the possibility of the Charter School coming to SD 170 and impacting our District's future. Allowing LEARN Charter School to come into SD 170 is not in the best interest of our students and staff. LEARN wants to take over our students by September 2015......KEEP THEM OUT OF OUR STUDENT'S EDUCATION!393 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Nancy Glennon

Stop El Garden From Being Developed & Keep The Garden Growing! The EL Garden community is in support of affordable housing but not at the expense of open public space. Bushwick deserves BOTH affordable housing and open green space. Less than half of these new developments will be "affordable" units, severely limiting the potential of relieving NYC's housing crisis. Instead, we strongly urge the Mayor to actively protect Bushwick’s existing rent stabilized units in support of longtime residents impacted by Bushwick's wave of development while supporting our fledgling community gardens and our grassroots environmental programs. Building over a much loved and much needed public green space is a loss for all.425 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Abby Lee

NO TO THE SOCIAL CLUB SWINGER'S CLUB IN MADISONWe are starting this petition because our children are the future. Neighborhoods matter. Communities have a voice. We do not want this establishment (a hard core sex club called The Social Club) relocating to 520 Lentz Drive which is next door to Goodpasture Christian School K-12, in a medical building in a medical professional campus where there are pediatric doctors, in our evolving business district, nor in our residential areas. Our once darling Madison has suffered enough from blight and economic loss. We are working hard to bring back our community. Madison, TN, is on a mission for healthy revitalization and attracting elite investors and strong developers to bring this community back to a quality of life area to live, work and play for its residents, employees, business owners and service folks. We do not want these negative-type businesses dragging down the value of our properties, contributing to loss of business to others, sabotaging economic worth for the community and threatening our quality of life in our area. We as a community feel disrespected by this business because they never considered impact on community as part of their location research. This petition will continue until we stop this club from opening at 520 Lentz Drive, see the location here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1HJGSvMLSIZSBshJ0XcmSgLWBTOME6hp-tu2m103kyUk/edit?usp=docslist_api2,121 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Sasha Mullins Lassiter

Raise the Minimum Wage in Virginia!Anyone who works full time should be able to support a family, but this holiday season many in Virginia are struggling. The minimum wage is stuck at just $7.25 an hour. We're better than this and we need your help to fix it in 2015. Senator Dave Marsden has introduced Senate Bill 681 to raise the minimum wage to $10.10. Can you help by writing a quick letter to the editor (LTE) to your newspaper in support of a living wage for all Virginia families? We've made a LTE tool, completely with talking points to help you easily submit your LTE.74 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Brian Devine, ProgressVA.org

Workers DistinctionAs a common working drone I have known many people who have though I tend to end up being in a different boat. Generally speaking I am starting this petition because the common worker supports huge megabucks corporations on their backs and are usually lead along like a mule with a carrot with attractive benefit plans, that they have no intention of delivering on. I stand for integrity as does this petition.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dan Tubman

I stand with John Dehlin."Thoughts and expressions compete in the marketplace of thought and in that competition, truth emerges triumphant. [….] Only error fears freedom of expression. [….] The free exchange of ideas is not to be deplored as long as men and women remain humble and teachable. Neither fear of consequence or any kind of coercion should ever be used to secure uniformity of thought in the church. People should express their problems and opinions and be unafraid to think without fear of ill consequences […] We must preserve freedom of the mind in the church and resist all efforts to suppress it. We should all exercise our God- given right to think and be unafraid to express our opinions…” — President Hugh B. Brown902 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Jeff Dransfield

Save McGinnis SchoolI myself went to McGinnis school as a child. I was appalled when I heard it was going to be demolished. There is no reason for it, except perhaps in the name of corporate profit, Many East Brunswick Citizens feel the same way.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Scott Servis

Governor Brown: Do the Right Thing for Home Care WorkersOvertime pay is a right that all American workers should enjoy. But now that right is at risk for home care workers in California. California’s senior citizens and people with disabilities rely on the quality care they receive through the state's In-Home Supportive Services program (IHSS) and the dedicated home care workers who serve them. Home care workers earn very low wages for the important work they do keeping their clients healthy, safe, and out of the state’s hospitals and high-cost care facilities. Last year, Governor Jerry Brown followed President Obama's example by signing a bill into law allowing home care workers to earn overtime pay for the first time in history, starting January 1, 2015. But an out-of-state lawsuit by the for-profit home care industry was successful in convincing a federal judge to delay the implementation of this law, taking away these protections just hours before they were supposed to go into effect. Governor Brown can move forward with overtime pay for California home care workers anyway, and he's already set aside the money for it in the state budget. New we just need him to do the right thing and stand up for home care workers and the people they care for by confirming overtime pay for home care workers.731 of 800 SignaturesCreated by United Healthcare Workers
