NAVY JETS TARGET WORLD HERITAGE SITE: OLYMPIC NATIONAL FOREST & PARK, ENDANGERED SPECIES, RESIDEN...ENDANGERED SPECIES - No studies have been done on the effects of loud noise or chronic radiation on endangered species whose “critical habitat” is in the Olympic National Forest, including: the Marbled Murrelet, the Western Snowy Plover, and the Northern Spotted Owl. - Navy official Jerry Sodano admitted 15 minutes exposure causes “the liquid tissue” of the eye to be damaged by proximity to the activated 3 mobile radiation emitters. - No analysis has been done of the effects of electromagnetic radiation and loud sounds on the 1 billion birds flying in this area annually, migrating shorebirds, geese, ducks, and other non-listed birds.319 of 400 SignaturesCreated by DOCTORS W.A.R.N.

I support President Obama's plan for paid sick days for ALL workers!Ahead of his State of the Union address, President Obama announced his plan to call on Congress to pass a federal paid sick days bill to give workers seven paid sick days for each year of work. President Obama's support for national paid sick days comes after big Working Families wins on the issue in Connecticut, New York City, and cities in New Jersey and Oregon! No one should have to go to work sick. But for millions of American workers, especially low wage working women, one stomach bug is all it takes to lose a week's pay or even your job. It's not healthy and it's not right. Let's pass paid sick days. This Little Known Politician is Iowa's Hero for Immigrant Rights! If you're like me, then you're probably tired of hearing politicians like Steve King from Iowa say mean things about immigrants. But there is good news! This little known Iowa politician just took a stand for immigrants in Iowa and we need to thank him for it. Iowa Attorney General's Tom Miller recently co-signed an amicus curiae ("friend of the court") brief in support of DAPA and DACA. This is a really big deal in the legal world. The action was a direct result of the anti-immigrant lawsuit which tries to end DAPA and DACA and the brief argues that Obama's executive action presents a boon rather than a burden, allowing immigrant families to participate more fully in American society and increasing the amount of tax revenue for states. So while Steve King and his anti-immigrant colleagues are leading the charge to try and end DAPA and DACA through lawsuits, Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller is taking a stand for the 23,000 immigrants in Iowa who will qualify for these programs. This is the kind of leadership we need in Iowa. Please join me in thanking Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller.268 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

End life sentences for first time offenders in Oklahoma. My husband was given a life sentence plus 15 years to run consecutively and charged with 2nd degree murder for a fatal car accident. This is the prime example of excessive/harsh sentencing. With no priors, there's nothing to suggest he's a violent or habitual/career criminal. Please help my family and I put a stop to the injustice shown in cases like my husband's. Please help to give my husband the opportunity to come home one day and prove he can be a productive citizen again. Each and every signature is very much appreciated.158 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Erin

Support Augusta County Residential Backyard HensOn January 28, 2015, the Augusta County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing to determine whether backyard hens are allowed in residentially zoned areas. Backyard hens provide pest control (eating ticks, stinkbugs and other pests), compost (consuming kitchen scraps and diverting tons of waste from landfills), produce healthier eggs than factory farm chickens (with 3 times more vitamin E and 7 times more beta carotene), and prevent heritage breed extinction (should factory farms suffer due to illness, backyard flocks can keep chickens alive and well). Safe, healthy, beneficial to families and the environment, we have a right to have hens in our backyards.333 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Theresa Rosenthal

Urging Missouri legislators to pass a law allowing the sale of growlers for off premise consumptionLiving in rural Missouri limits craft beer enthusiast access to much of what the market has to offer. Allowing retailers and not just licensed breweries to offer the sale of growlers in their stores will provide more access to consumers of craft beer as well as provide retailers an additional source of income. TN and KY already allow retailers to sell and fill growlers and it has been very successful with the retailers.20 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jason

Sally Jewell: Let states and cities ban frackingIn a recent interview with KQED, Interior Secretary Sally Jewell said banning hydraulic fracturing is the "wrong way to go" for states and municipalities worried about its impacts. "There is a lot of misinformation about fracking," she went on to say. Sadly, the Secretary is the one who is misinformed. Water and air pollution: There are already more than 1,000 documented cases of water and air contamination from fracking operations — from toxic wastewater, well blowouts, chemical spills, and more. Cancer: Researchers at the University of Colorado School of Public Health concluded that people living within a half-mile of gas drilling operations have higher health risks, including cancer. Earthquakes: Many studies have shown that fracking can cause earthquakes by building up subterranean pressures that causes slippage in existing fault lines. Earthquakes in Ohio, Texas, and Oklahoma have been linked to fracking operations. After reviewing all this evidence and more, the states of New York and Vermont, and hundreds of cities across the nation have banned fracking. Sally Jewel, the Secretary of the Interior, should just let these state and cities follow the science and ban fracking.4,089 of 5,000 SignaturesCreated by Margie Alt

animal abusersDear Mr President Obama Im starting this petition for animal abuse. I see plenty of animal abusers getting slapped on their hands with lil to no punishment. I believe there should be a harder punishment for this I mean aninals are as defenseless as our children. Plus these kill shelters break my heart as well. This should be stopped. And a pit bull should be properly evaluated before given his death sentence. I think even if its a child (like hazel graces abusers) they need to be punished and get physiciatric help to prevent this as well. There are so many defenseless animals getting abused. Also I think more money should be donated and designated for the care of the abused animals and restitution should be made from the abuser to pay for their care. Animal abuse. My heart strings have been pulled due to Hazel Grace and Kringle and many others. Animals should NOT be abused. If your going to abuse them dont get one.32 of 100 SignaturesCreated by kellina gonzalez

Virginia: Protect the property of residents from pipelineDominion believes that they are within their rights to trespass onto private property based on a Virginia state law. At any given time, a bunch of petroleum pirates can essentially impose on resident's property rights; and all they have to do is "let you know" that they intend to do so. The slippery slope fueled by greasy greed is almost scarier than the other dangers associated with fracking. This practice seems to all but eviscerate the 5th Amendment of the Bill of Rights, and could lead to a constitutional fractastrophe. We are calling on Governor Terry McAuliffe to sit down with property owners work together to scrap this law.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Environmental Action
