Enabling Wall Street to privatize profits and socialize risk with credit swaps and other completely corrupt financial processes just as they did in 2006-2008 is wrong and should not pass an uncorrupted government of the people.

At the corner of Old Country and Holly sits a beautiful park with a preschool, community room, picnic tables, benches, barbeque pits, and baseball + soccer fields for children under 12. Last month I learned that an upscale hotel will be constructed down the block from me starting in 2015. That was hard to swallow, but I understand. Now, I just learned that a new high school construction is also in the works. And the high school wants Laureola Park. I'm distraught. Our elected government is doing nothing to protect us. We received NO NOTICE that a 400 student high school is planned for our backyard. Instead we were informed of the School District's plan and vote just a few days ago. We were given the wrong time. By the time we showed up, it was obvious the decisions had been made. Our voice was not heard. One block north, the children on Holly street can't play on their front lawns because of dangerous traffic congestion. And now the School District expects us to send small kids to play next to 17 year olds. Or maybe they will just take away the park. Who knows, because we were never told. So much for notice and hearing. - Where will our children play? - Are we going to suffer through construction sounds to the east and west for the next two years? - What is being done to prevent all these strangers from parking and speeding down our streets? - Why is the San Carlos government doing nothing to protect us? - Why is the School District spending our tax dollars to place students on top of a railroad track, a natural gas pipeline, and 1 mile from an airport and major highway? The environmental study, traffic study -- NOTHING has been completed and shared with the public.

Sandy City is trying to push through 8000 South into our neighborhood. I am concerned for our neighborhood children's safety. Because 8000 South is a major artery in Sandy City, if opened it will encourage drivers to use our neighborhood as a cut through to 1000 E. and 1300 E. This will increase traffic and speeding. Currently there are four streets that adequately serve our neighborhood traffic. Please help us STOP 8000 South at 700 East.

Because the citizens are getting a raw deal, constantly being ripped off, and our government/taxpayers are always on the hook for the greed and risky behaviors of the bankers. Someone I care about who I have known for years prior to his arrest, Roderick "Rudd" Walker was sentenced to LIFE for LSD Conspiracy in Federal District of Oklahoma in Tulsa based solely on the testimony of others with no physical evidence of any drug. New evidence has been discovered that both DEA agent Sean Henry and the Federal Prosecutor Robert Thames Raley were aware of. The holidays should be a time for family and tradition—but the noise, pollution, and health threat of fracking may spoil Gary Baumgardner’s plans. Last week, the Michigan House of Representatives passed the "Religious Freedom Restoration Act" along party lines. It should be titled the "License To Discriminate Act". This act's sole purpose is to allow a person to refuse to serve any person whom they choose if they have a moral objection to that person's lifestyle. The LGBT community is most likely the target of this bill, but it has far reaching implications that even its proponents don't yet realize. By citing religious beliefs, people would be able to legally discriminate against anybody they wanted for any purpose. Christians against Jews, Jews against Muslims, Muslims against Hindus, and so on, and so on. Is this really the type of society we wish to live in? I think not. Liberty and justice for all, regardless of whether or not you share someone else's religious beliefs.

The Religious Freedom Restoration Act states that a provider's " religious reasons" could prevent a person in need from receiving medical help, housing, or a driver's license. This Act is discriminatory and unkind. We the people of Michigan in Bay County who have signed this petition do not support this Act.
