Atty. General Schneiderman help TMC Owners! What happens to TMC owners who were subjected to high pressure sales tactics, lied to, sold by unlicensed sales people and not given the legally required sales information until it was too late to cancel their TMC timeshare purchase? The Attorney General's staff under cover investigation has proven these things true. How do these TMC owners get out of a lifelong financial obligation to a scam? There has to be a fair and reasonable way out of a life long commitment to the TMC fraud operation provided by the Attorney General's Office to TMC owners.204 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Irene Smalls

Equal Employment Opportunities For People with DisabilitiesTo President Obama, the U.S. Congress, the National Council on Disability, the National Council on Independent Living, and the Rehabilitation Services Administration: According to the U.S. Department of Labor, in 2013, 17.6 percent of persons with a disability were employed, as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In contrast, the employment-population ratio for those without a disability was 64.0 percent. The employment-population ratio was little changed from 2012 to 2013 for both groups. The unemployment rate for those with a disability was 13.2 percent in 2013, higher than the rate for persons with no disability (7.1 percent). The jobless rate for persons with a disability was little changed from 2012 to 2013, while the rate for those without a disability declined. These statistics illustrate that legislative efforts and "best practice solutions" to fully include and integrate people with disabilities into the workplace are NOT successful and discrimination and disincentives to getting a job or having a career still exists. In addition, according to the most recent U.S. Census data, 28 percent of those with disabilities ages 18 to 64 lived in poverty in 2010. Meanwhile, the poverty rate for their peers in the general population was 12.5 percent. On October 14, 2016, thousands of people with disabilities and fellow supporters will participate in the Million Gimp March on our Nation's Capitol to demand the following: 1. That Congress or the President takes immediate steps to make gainful employment and the pursuit and achievement of a career a civil right for people with disabilities and that legislation such as the ABLE (Achieving a Better Life Experience) Act and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act are strengthened and vigorously and meaningfully implemented. 2. That Section 14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act, which authorizes employers, after receiving a certificate from the Wage and Hour Division, to pay special minimum wages - wages less than the Federal minimum wage - to workers who have disabilities for the work being performed be immediately repealed at the Federal and State levels for all workers with disabilities and that an Executive Order be issued ordering that the certificates held by states and other jurisdictions be immediately made null and void. 3. That laws that make it illegal to discriminate against people with disabilities in hiring and in the workplace be strengthened, funded and immediately implemented. 4. That, once employed, people with disabilities be allowed to keep medical benefits such as Medicaid and Medicare, as a supplement that would cover essential items, services and long term care that private insurance does not. 5. That the asset limit for people with disabilities on Medicaid be increased from $2,000 to $50,000. We, the undersigned, agree with and fully support these demands and call for across-the-board competitive and inclusive employment opportunity equality regardless of ability.888 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Vicki Jurney-Taylor

Nebraska Watchdog must apologize to Amanda McGill and retract their inaccurate storyAmanda is running for State Auditor against incumbent Charlie Janssen, whose campaign manager is quoted frequently in the article mentioned. This story was introduced to attack Amanda with no factual basis, as she is a politician with a sterling reputation. We cannot allow our system to be hijacked by misinformation like this, so please help me convince Mr. Jordan and Nebraska Watchdog to do the right thing. We Demand A Mega Club and museum for The House Music Culture. Before House Music was introduced to Chicago, the city of Chicago was known for the gangster Al Capone. This was not a good image for the city. Then the city became known for the blues and its blues clubs. This didn't last very long. In 1980 Chicago House music was born, Chicago would never be the same, it was house central. House Music, the Dj's and the producers made Chicago the most talked about and visited cities in Illinois. It was reported that when there was a house music event going in Chicago the crime rate dropped. House music and its culture promotes peace unity and diversity it has crossed all racial barriers and has inspired all types of music genres: EDM, Techno, acid, soulful, dubstep, tribe, and many more. Three decades later House music is still going strong in Chicago. But House Music has no mega venue or museum. By developing these things: 1- It would be a great tribute to the Dj's and producers of Chicago that helped define a positive image of Chicago; 2- It would generate a greater level of tourism which would bring more money to the city; 3- This would create a place for the house music community of Chicago and the visiting fan population to celebrate its culture and love for the music. 4. The museum would display the contributions that the pioneers of house music has made to the music industry, photos of Dj's and producers, gear and equipment that was use to make the music, old flyers and photos of legendary DJ’s and producers, House music locations and other type of memorabilia. Also music workshops for the youth or that may be interested in a music career as a DJ, producer or sound engineer.41 of 100 SignaturesCreated by DEREK JONES

Bike Racks for our Parks! As a cyclist, I am concerned that we aren't making it easy enough for beginning bikers and families and seniors to bike in NYC. One of the biggest obstacles to getting on a bike is having a place to lock it securely once you arrive at your destination. The parks in our neighborhood (Central Park, Riverside Park, Morningside Park and others) don't have any bike racks and that leaves cyclists without a place to park once they get to the park!11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Martin Wallace

Homeschoolers should be able to play sports for public schools!I just started this journey with my children and the more people find out that my son can not participate with kids he has been playing sports, the more shocked they become. I believe many people aren't even aware that this law is in effect, NY being one of 19 states that do not allow HS children to play sports. It is time people become aware of this discrimination!!388 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Deana Madigan

Roll Back The Rate HikeOn September 16, National Grid, the largest electric utility in Massachusetts filed a 37% rate increase with the Department of Public Utilities. Other large utilities, such as NStar, Unitil and WMECO are expected to do the same. I support the roll back of this massive rate increase and demand environmentally sustainable energy policy in Massachusetts. The electric rate hike is set to take effect on November 1st, 2014. This increase is unfair, unwarranted and designed to create false demand for new gas infrastructure. UNFAIR: The increase will hurt low-income families. It will harm small and large businesses and hamper the state’s economic recovery. Is this rate hike truly justified? UNWARRANTED: Gas supplies are at an all time high, while prices remain low. Meanwhile, the electric companies efforts to promote energy efficiency and conservation have lagged. FALSE DEMAND: The rate hike raises the specter of what State Representative William Pignatelli has suggested may be, “corporate collusion,” holding citizens hostage to gain acceptance for costly, environmentally destructive natural gas infrastructure projects, such as the controversially proposed Tennessee Gas Northeast Direct pipeline. Tell the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities to roll back the rate increase. The long-term solution for preventing volatile price spikes and halting climate change is investment in renewable energy. It is time to democratize energy policy in the Commonwealth, making it clean, green and fair.768 of 800 SignaturesCreated by M.K. Ultra
