Require A Special Prosecutor to Investigate Fatal Use of Force by PoliceI live in St. Louis and want every citizen to have no doubt that they will always receive equal treatment under the law. The prosecutor's decision to use a grand jury and the presentation of evidence to the grand jury did nothing to reassure the public's concern about lack of impartiality. On the contrary, many are left to reasonably wonder whether it was Michael Brown or Darren Wilson that was being investigated. A special prosecutor would go a long way toward restoring trust in future cases of alleged police misconduct.78 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ronald Ramey

Congress: Don’t Kill Iran Talks With New SanctionsThe U.S. and its European partners have agreed to extend the interim nuclear deal with Iran while continuing to work towards a comprehensive, permanent agreement. The extension of the interim deal means that Iran’s nuclear program will continue to be under tightened restrictions and closer international inspection. Unfortunately, with the Republican takeover of the Senate, opponents of diplomacy are going to have more opportunities to try to derail the talks. Anti-diplomacy forces are already demanding that Congress enact new sanctions, even though new U.S. sanctions would violate U.S. commitments under the interim deal. All that new sanctions legislation would do now is provoke Iranian hardliners and undermine the voices of those in Iran who want to reconcile with the West—which is exactly what anti-diplomacy forces in the U.S. want. Urge your Representative and Senators to oppose efforts to kill the Iran talks, by signing our petition.11,838 of 15,000 SignaturesCreated by Robert Naiman

Sen. Grassley: Reject loopholes, don't renew themCongress is about to REINSTATE loopholes that let huge corporations like GE, Goldman Sachs and Citigroup dodge taxes -- and to stop it, we need Sen. Chuck Grassley's support. Tax loopholes allow corporations to dodge taxes by hiding profits overseas -- some companies pay $0 in taxes. Congress is about to decide their fate: Renew $9 billion in offshore corporate tax loopholes, or leave them on the scrap heap of bad ideas. Earlier this year, a large slate of corporate subsidies expired. Hidden among the tax credits are some of the worst loopholes that reward multinational corporations for moving profits and jobs overseas. Now, Congress wants to renew many of these programs, even the ones that reward huge companies for hiding profits overseas. It makes no sense -- this is our chance to let these loopholes end for good. The President has already spoken out against renewing these loopholes, but Sen. Grassley hasn't. That's why your signature is so important. It’s about time that these corporations start living by the same rules as the rest of us. It’s time to close these loopholes and invest in an economy that works for everyone.262 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Nathan Proctor

Rules of engagement/police officersThis petition has the sole purpose of making law enforcement officials more accountable. The use of deadly force is drastically being overused. Military personnel have a very strict code for "rules of engagement." The current policies that are in place need to be redone to effect drastic change and accountability. Police officers on the state and local as of late and in history past have been killing unarmed citizens without much if any provocation. Then they are getting a slap on the wrist and allowed to murder again. We need to begin with stricter rules within Internal Affairs to police the police officers, possibly creating community advocates in every city/town who are present and allowed to ask questions at hearings.95 of 100 SignaturesCreated by GA - Georgia
