The City of Urbana and the Urbana Free Library are facing new budget challenges following Carle Hospital's removal from the Urbana tax rolls. In light of these new budget constraints, the board of the Urbana Free Library is beginning to consider cuts to services provided to Urbana residents, such as cutting library hours. Before considering cuts to library services, the Urbana City Council and the library board should consider raising the library levy. No Urbana homeowner loves the idea of paying higher taxes on their house, but most Urbana homeowners would rather pay a little bit more in taxes than see the Library forced to cut its services to Urbana residents. This school has been a huge stepping stone for those of us and has a great impact on many professionals in our community. Please try to look further in your plans and not close this school for it has a rich history and great results in the City of Baltimore.

This petition is to protect our land and air quality. The tar sands that are being refined give of worse emissions then regular crude, there in its self making the pipeline a piece of the equation in which the tar sands are then refined in the United states, therefore increasing our bad emissions. The second part of this ppetition is that hundreds of leaks have occurred along the length of the pipeline, many in places where it has contaminated drinking water suppliwe, farming irrigation supplies and has left once fertile and green open spaces are now crude muck swamps and toxic land. Please Mr Carper, don't allow big business and lobbyist tell us what's best for this country. Make a stand ans say no to the keystone pipeline.

Standing Rock Tribal Members went to the polls in record numbers to support Senator Heidi Heitkamp. We want her to know we are opposed to the Keystone XL Pipeline. We want to remind her that her slogan was "A Voice for Indian Country". Indian Country is saying , "NO TO KXL".

The University of Hawaiʻi seeks to be a leader in environmental stewardship, and the campus community is now calling for a policy banning single-use plastic water bottles to catalyze sustainable water consumption through a massive reduction in plastic waste produced on campus, increased water refill stations and an overall culture of sustainability.

EPS is harmful to our environment and is one of the most commonly found items during trash clean-ups. With alternate products available, we need to make the responsible decision of moving away from these EPS containers. I live in Louisville, Kentucky, home of the soon-to-be Majority Leader of the Senate. I am disappointed that he's taken an anti-EPA stance, despite the Kentuckians and other Americans who are helped by strong regulations.

I, along with several other residents of Baton Rouge, firmly believe that College Drive deserves a more appropriate title. Not only does Traffic Avenue have a nicer, more resounding ring to it, it gives commuters an immediate sense of impending doom upon approach.

Wolves in Wisconsin may be perilously close to collapse due to aggressive hunting and trapping seasons, poaching, and the unregulated year-round use of dogs to pursue wolves. Worse, the state is likely not accurately counting the number of wolves in its borders. The state of Wisconsin interpreted its wolf census data in secret last winter — for the first time in 25 years. A group of scientists recently outlined multiple flaws in the state's methods of reporting wolf mortality and reporting the wolf population status. The scientists urged the USFWS to start independent scientific review and emergency relisting. The scientists reported that among radio-collared wolves in 2012, for every 4 wolves legally hunted, another 7 were illegally killed, 8 were killed by the government or vehicles, and 2 died of natural causes. Following that, the state declared another wolf-hunting season and legally hunted another 257 wolves in October 2013 and 150 wolves in October 2014. The wolf population can not handle more of the same. Please ask USFWS Director Dan Ashe to listen to these scientists and immediately relist wolves in Wisconsin and to form an independent scientific review panel to monitor any future state recovery plans.
