Just recently the city of west Chicago, slammed a note on my door saying REMOVE CHiCkENS aND ROOSTERS, after 5 years or raising and breeding chickens, this happened. Our chickens are more than just animals and food supply their our pets!! We are very saddened by this news, but if you help myself in signing this petition, we can work on getting the ordinance changed allowing myself and others to own and raise chickens!!! Sign below!! This Republican party is starting to really portray itself as the most ignorant party that has ever existed. The way they try and manipulate people is beyond belief. Unfortunately, some people are letting this go as just your typical political game but it's far worse. Our country's support of Israel through genocidal campaigns in Gaza has severly damaged the U.S.'s reputation and stature as a fair leader of nations. It is time to rectify this matter, restore Gaza's dignity and security for civilians and divert U.S. support away from Israel's military and, instead, into basic reparations for Gaza's infrastructure -- hospitals, power plants, water, etc. to restore the pre-conditions for future peaceful coexistence between adversaries..

We, the residents of Valencia Reserve appreciate the efforts of the VR Reserve Safety Committee and were pleased to hear that a 4-way stop is under consideration. We urge you to vote YES to this change. Many of us have experienced close encounters with cars travelling east / west on Lake Royal Blvd that failed to yield to pedestrians who were in the middle of the intersection. It is especially dangerous at night. Street lighting is minimal and drivers have difficulty seeing pedestrians. Also, due to the contours of the road, drivers exiting Vizcaya have difficulty seeing oncoming cars or judging the speed at which they are approaching. Collisions and injuries are inevitable. Any inconvenience that this 4-way intersection may cause pales in consideration with the serious injuries and deaths that will occur if the intersection is not altered. Please recommend to the entire Board that this intersection be made safer with the change to a 4-way stop. Thank you

Whatever the tactical outcome and rationale of this conflict, the one certainty is that innocent civilians are being slaughtered wholesale, and the prospect of any real peace becomes more distant as a possibility.

The Democratic National Committee is deciding where to hold the 2016 Democratic National Convention, and five cities are still under consideration—including Phoenix. Phoenix is unacceptable. Arizona’s SB 1070 is still on the books, and police continue to profile and harass Latinos because of the way they look. It would be a very divisive move, and disrespectful to a growing constituency in the Democratic Party. Other cities would unite our party and allow us to focus on the task at hand in 2016—retaining the White House, expanding our Senate majority, taking back the House and finally enacting comprehensive immigration reform. There is finally movement in the US Congress in getting a constitutional amendment to allow government to control campaign donations and spending. The bill is HJR Res 119. A companion to the amendment which will soon be voted on by the full US Senate was introduced in the US House of Representatives. The House amendment bill has more than 110 co-sponsors. Florida’s Senator Bill Nelson became the 48th senator to formally support the amendment. With three more senators, we’ll have a majority of the U.S. Senate behind the amendment.
