• Let's stop private campaign funding.
Today candidates for either house of the congress cannot be competitive without huge amounts of cash from oligarchs who buy their allegiance. We need to decide whether we want a truly representative government, or one that only represents the interests of major contributors. Or America dies.

  • Tell the Senate: Improve Birth Control Access for Women in the Military
More women are on active duty in the military than ever before. 97 percent of servicewomen are of reproductive age, and they’re being deployed in regions where it’s a big challenge to get birth control, leaving many servicewomen without the care they deserve. It is time we as a country address this problem and make sure we improve access for the courageous women serving our country. A new bill in Congress would vastly improve access to contraception for women in the military. Introduced by Sens. Jeanne Shaheen, Harry Reid, and Patty Murray, it would ensure that all service members and their families would get full contraceptive coverage and counseling so they can pick the family planning option that’s right for them. Servicewomen are critical to our country’s safety, and they shouldn’t be denied health care that only women need. Take action now and tell your senators to stand up for women in the military and help pass this bill.

  • Remove Anti-Semitic posts on Facebook
The drastic rise in global anti-Semitism and violence against Jews has put not only the Jews in danger, but humanity as we look at the faces of the next Holocaust. The Auschwitz tattoo on my father's arm is still visible as we listen to people call out for death to the Jews. Facebook has become a bulletin board for such hate mongering. It has to stop.

  • changing child support standards and regulations.
I'm starting this petition to get congress and child support to make some much needed child support regulations changes. Men go months without paying and nothing is being done. When they are finally punished and the punishment is over they continue to pay nothing. Women are working 2 different jobs to maintain a house for their kids while the man gets off scott free. I should not have to bring in my income to a review when I'm not being ordered to pay child support. Child support payments should not be based off of both the parents incomes only the father. It's time to stand up an actually make the system work the way it should.

  • Insurance Company Pays $21,000 Settlement To Elderly Man In Buckets Of Coins
It wasn't bad enough that a young manager from Adriana's Insurance Inc assaulted my elderly grandfather, but after he won the settlement, they paid him $21,000 in dimes, nickles, pennies and quarters. On top of, that my grandfather has a pacemaker and is recovering from a recent hernia surgery. From Reddit: Here is the back story, my grandfather is 73 years old and has had a series of health issues over the years, some so severe that he has been hospitalized for days. He now lives day to day with a pacemaker. He is Hispanic and has lived a simple life in East Los Angeles for years with his wife. He aquired Adriana's Insurance and was a paying client. He went in to see why they were overcharging him. The manager at the time realized they made a mistake and started to become irate with my elderly grandfather (this manager was young and in healthy shape). This manager then laid hands on my grandfather and in a more than aggressive manner grabbed him as if a riot cop would and moved him outside. Cops responded and arrested the manager. This claim was filed about more than a year ago and they recently settled in June 2014. They payed him 2 months later IN BUCKETS OF COINS!!!!! Just about $21,000 worth of pennies, dimes, nickles, and quarters! At this time he is still recovering from a recent hernia surgery. Here's how they delivered it, about 8 guys jumped out of a van in front of my grandpa's law office and started unloading buckets upon buckets of coins outside of the doors. The law office had to argue with the delivery men to take my grandfathers settlement inside where it was safe from the public. My grandfather is very traditional and believes this gesture of payment is an insult since they know he can't even carry one bucket of coins alone. The family only asks that you spread the word of the unprofessional actions that this insurance company given to one of their own clients. He wants fair justice from the company. By signing, you help support my grandpa and his fight for justice. File a complaint against Adriana's Insurance on the California Board of Insurance website here: http://www.insurance.ca.gov/contact-us/0200-file-complaint Sign the petition and show the BBB (Better Business Bureau ) that this company should not be operating The Family appreciates every bit of support, Thank you! • Chest Cams Reduce Incidents/Complaints of Police Abuse
A study conducted in Rialto, CA showed conclusively that chest cameras worn by police officers reduced officers' use of force by 80% and public complaints against officers dropped by a whopping 88%. The use of the cameras protects the suspect from potential abuse and officers from frivolous and unfounded complaints.

  • QUICK SIGNATURE for the Refugee Border Children!
They are small, as our own children are small. They are alone and afraid. Tens of thousands of child refugees from Central America are arriving at the U.S. border without anyone to protect them, many driven from their homes by organized crime, gangs, and violence. The average age of the child refugees is thirteen years old, and approximately 40% are girls. [1] Even girls who are little more than preschool-aged are being targeted by gangs and criminals in Central America. Leaving their countries is often a last resort. If these child refugees are sent back from the U.S., then many face additional threats of violence and even death.[2] This is a humanitarian emergency. As a nation, we need to behave according to our values by treating all child refugees fairly and humanely. We must also recognize that these refugees are children -- and do our best to treat child refugees as well as possible given the difficult circumstances. Help speak up for them. Sign now! • Re-open Jersey City's Greenville Hospital
This petition is being started because once again the Greenville community in Jersey City has been left out of the loop. Sadly, many random acts of violence crime occur in Greenville and the nearest hospital is either In Bayonne or Downtown Jersey City. The residents of Ward A does not deserve to be treated as second-class citizens. We all need to work together to improve the quality of life in Greenville. Let's re-open this hospital for the community!

  • Return Bus 1665 to 1st load for afternoon
Children on bus 1665 who live west of Sope Creek bridge are spending an extra 30 minutes in transit from school to home compared to last school year. Over 36 weeks, that is the equivalent to additional 18 school days. The delay in returning from school is disruptive to homework, childcare arrangements, after school activities, and to the well being of the children, particularly the younger ones for whom the additional time at school is exhausting. The students who ride bus 1665 as 1st load in the morning are away from home for ~ 8:10 while the 1665 2nd load students are only in transit and at school for ~ 7:10. While students on the 2nd morning load have the option of walking to school, the 1st load AM students cannot walk to or from school in a timely and safe manner. Bus 1665 should be returned to its original, non-flipped loading schedule to resolve the issue.
