• THE Obama LEGACY ITEM: CLIMATE ACTION
The President currently "talks a good game", and his administrative actions have been fine, but now, HE NEEDS TO CHEER LEAD AND EDUCATE FULL-TIME. With his leadership, Americans will follow -- and with America's leadership, the world will follow. Our children and theirs deserve a liveible planet as our and Barack Obama's legacy!

  • Sanctions for Israel´s Abuse of Human Rights
What is happening in Gaza is offensive to me and to all human life on the planet. It must be stopped immediately because every day that passes means the death of more innocent people. How can anybody justify such hypocritical acts in the name of self-defense. It makes me sick.

  • Urge House members to support the "Not My Boss' Business Act"
We came very close to fixing the Supreme Court’s sexist Hobby Lobby decision in the U.S. Senate. But Mitch McConnell and his allies in the Senate blocked the “Not My Boss’ Business” Act from even getting a floor vote. We know where the Senate stands – now we need to put every member of the U.S. House of Representatives on record. And we need you, one of the 7 in 10 pro-choice majority, to help. Contact your representative now and tell them to support the "Not My Boss' Business Act."

  • Tell the Detroit Emergency Manager: Permanently Stop Water Shutoffs.
This announcement comes after threatening to cut off water to nearly 100,000 working-class and poor Detroiters. A temporary reprieve is a hopeful sign, but it’s not enough-- the water shutoffs must end permanently. In our comprehensive report last November, we pointed out that Governor Snyder and his colleagues in the legislature appeared to be angling for control of the Detroit Water and Sewerage System by either transferring it to a new governmental agency or outright privatization, or a little of both. The city is bankrupt, not this enterprise. The real political game being played out is to wrest this huge enterprise from the City Water and Sewerage Department and transfer the operation—and the valuable business that can be handed out to allies and potential contributors—to the state. We’re on the verge of victory now, and we need your help to amplify the voices of those on the ground. Sign our petition to end the Detroit water shutoffs and this public health crisis.

  • Protect Corporate Whistleblowers!
Whistleblowers are the eyes and ears to abuses by big banks and financial institutions, but they are becoming the targets of increased retaliation. Please stand by financial whistleblowers and ask the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to strengthen and clarify its Whistleblower Program! In response to the Great Recession, Congress established the SEC Whistleblower Program as part of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform & Consumer Protection Act. While whistleblowers enjoy new avenues to disclose abuses, companies are using gag-orders and other retaliatory tactics to prevent these truth-tellers from coming forward. These tactics both punish the whistleblower and discourage others from coming forward, what is known as the “chilling effect.” Whistleblowers are invaluable to an open society because they hold institutions accountable and ensure that taxpayer money is spent wisely. Telling the truth should be valued and protected — not punished. Please sign the petition below asking the SEC to protect corporate whistleblowers!

  • Happiness Petition!
According to Section 1 of the 13th Amendment of The Constitution, passed by Congress January 31, 1865, ratified December 6, 1865, "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction." In today’s America, poverty and drug possession are treated as crimes. That’s what happens when you wage war on drugs and poverty. The victims and their families are just victims of warfare in which they have their power stripped from them—bad schools, no opportunity, no justice, little to no health care and imprisonment. It’s a completely one-sided war. So I have a question, should someone be subjected to slavery just because they’ve found themselves in such a desperate situation that they end up prostituting or addicted to drugs? What about smoking and/or selling a plant that once legalized made millions of dollars in taxes in one state in just a day? If you answered no, sign the petition so that we can win freedom for everyone. It's time for America to live up to its own standard. Check out the article below titled The Reality After MLK's Dream: An American Civil War to gain more insight on why we are so passionate about this issue http://www.authenticreflection.org/2/post/2014/01/the-reality-after-mlks-dream-modern-day-american-civil-war.html
