• PETITION TO PUT IN A 4-WAY STOP AT LAKE ROYAL AND BEVERLY GLEN
We, the residents of Valencia Reserve appreciate the efforts of the VR Reserve Safety Committee and were pleased to hear that a 4-way stop is under consideration. We urge you to vote YES to this change. Many of us have experienced close encounters with cars travelling east / west on Lake Royal Blvd that failed to yield to pedestrians who were in the middle of the intersection. It is especially dangerous at night. Street lighting is minimal and drivers have difficulty seeing pedestrians. Also, due to the contours of the road, drivers exiting Vizcaya have difficulty seeing oncoming cars or judging the speed at which they are approaching. Collisions and injuries are inevitable. Any inconvenience that this 4-way intersection may cause pales in consideration with the serious injuries and deaths that will occur if the intersection is not altered. Please recommend to the entire Board that this intersection be made safer with the change to a 4-way stop. Thank you

  • US Government stop resupplying weapons and munitions used in Gaza War
Whatever the tactical outcome and rationale of this conflict, the one certainty is that innocent civilians are being slaughtered wholesale, and the prospect of any real peace becomes more distant as a possibility.

  • Hire All The Berrios Family
According to the Chicago Sun-Times (http://tinyurl.com/Berrios-Family-Hires) Cook County Assessor has placed 15 members of his family on the public payroll. We are gravely concerned that are members of his family - regardless of their age, mortality status (that is, living or deceased) or species (dog, cat, parakeet) - that are NOT on a public payroll. We would like to see ALL of Joe's family employed in local government!

  • Free Condoms
The Administration, led by the Office of National Aids Policy and HHS Office of HIV / AIDS and Infectious Disease Policy, in partnership with other Federal agencies, state and local governments, communities and people living with HIV, have made tremendous progress in HIV /AIDS in the United States over the last four years. Together, we are committed to accelerating our efforts to reach the Strategy's goals and, eventually, attain an AIDS-Free generation. Smart investments and collaborations by providing funds for free condoms to the public will provide opportunities to scale up efforts so that community affected by HIV can contribute to achieving the goals of the Strategy.

  • Sign the petition to DNC: Say “no” to Phoenix in 2016
The Democratic National Committee is deciding where to hold the 2016 Democratic National Convention, and five cities are still under consideration—including Phoenix. Phoenix is unacceptable. Arizona’s SB 1070 is still on the books, and police continue to profile and harass Latinos because of the way they look. It would be a very divisive move, and disrespectful to a growing constituency in the Democratic Party. Other cities would unite our party and allow us to focus on the task at hand in 2016—retaining the White House, expanding our Senate majority, taking back the House and finally enacting comprehensive immigration reform. Sign the petition to the DNC: Say “no” to Phoenix in 2016.

  • Market Basket Customer Loyalty
I don't think the major shareholders understand the true loyalty we feel toward Market Basket. If they think they can sell the name and the brand to just anyone, they are wrong and misguided. This petition was started to show them just how wrong they may be.

  • Reverse Cititzens United
There is finally movement in the US Congress in getting a constitutional amendment to allow government to control campaign donations and spending. The bill is HJR Res 119. A companion to the amendment which will soon be voted on by the full US Senate was introduced in the US House of Representatives. The House amendment bill has more than 110 co-sponsors. Florida’s Senator Bill Nelson became the 48th senator to formally support the amendment. With three more senators, we’ll have a majority of the U.S. Senate behind the amendment. The bill requires a 2/3 majority of both houses so It is critical that the public show support and keep the momentum going. Please sign the petition and share with your friends.

  • Remove the requirement to believe in God to hold office in Maryland
I do not believe that this article [Article 37] as written agrees is within the true spirit of the Federal constitution. I believe belief or non-belief in God (or Gods) should not be a factor in qualifying a person to hold office in the state of Maryland.

  • Support the Marshall Islands for a Nuclear Free World
THE UNKEPT PROMISE THE STORY: Landmark lawsuits were filed on April 24, 2014 against all nine nuclear weapon states in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and, on the same day, against the United States in U.S. Federal District Court. At the heart of the lawsuits is this: holding these nations accountable for their breach of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), specifically Article VI of the treaty. At no time ever before in U.S. history has the United States been sued in U.S. court for breach of an international treaty. A BRIEF HISTORY: The NPT was opened for signature in 1968 and entered into force in 1970. Article VI obligates signatories to pursue negotiations in good faith for an end to the nuclear arms race at an early date and for nuclear disarmament. The NPT nuclear weapon states (U.S., UK, Russia, France and China) are in violation of their treaty obligations by continuing to modernize their nuclear forces and by failing to negotiate in good faith for nuclear disarmament (44 years since entry into force of the treaty does not meet the definition of at an early date). For the same reasons, the four nuclear weapon states not party to the NPT (Israel, India, Pakistan and North Korea) are in violation of customary international law. THE LAWSUIT: The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) has filed these lawsuits in the ICJ and in U.S. court. RMI is a small island nation in the Pacific whose people have suffered greatly at the hands of U.S. atmospheric nuclear tests in the 1940s and 1950s. Their filings are a bold form of peaceful, non-violent action aimed at making substantial changes to the status quo on an issue that threatens the security and future of all generations.

  • Stop The Hate; Obama is a Strong Successful President
It is time to call for an end to the campaign of hate against Obama. Why? Why? Why? Why do they hate this successful President so much? Even when he uses their policies or supports their position they will abandon their own ideas just to continue to hate him; so, what is it that they really hate about him? It is time to face the truth and finally admit that the Republican party has officially become the party of hate towards a man, (our President) because of the color of his skin; and no matter how much they try to deny it… their behavior reveals the truth. Why would almost every Republican Governor deny medical coverage to their poor people who desperately need medical support from a plan based on a Republican Governor’s administration and plan originated by a Republican think tank (the Heritage Foundation)… We all know that just like the nation has had to apologize to its citizens for allowing past transgressions; (Japanese Internment, human syphilis experimentation on African Americans, the Native American trail of tears… etc.)… in the future we will all know that there will be formal apologies to this President from a new generation of American leaders (true Republican leaders). Cut the crap… it is time to stop this outrage right now… and all Americans must stand up to the radical few!
