  • COSTCO is supporting Koch companies
I'm a single working mother on a very limited income. I like to shop at Costco because they treat their employees well, carry many organic products, and have good prices. However, I am very disturbed to find out that my money is supporting the Koch brothers through items such as Dixie cups and plates. I don't want a dime of my money to go to any company they own or in which they have stock options. Please help cut off the supply that feeds those greedy, prejudiced, corrupt brothers.

  • AN OPEN LETTER TO THE ARKANSAS LEGISLATURE
Educators are the most critical partners with parents in developing solid citizens who contribute to the strength and well-being of the State. It is unconscionable that they should not have the same access to health insurance provided other state employees. The attempt to even further restrict access to meaningful health care is a statement that they are devalued; yet, we all know -at least those who use public education- the importance of their contribution to our children and our state.

  • Better nutrition for kids in hospitals
Our goal is to make nutrition healthier for kids beyond the issues of obesity and school lunches and to expand into the hospital setting. We have firsthand experience with the food in hospitals as we have been in and out with our 11 year old son who has been recently diagnosed with lymphoma. We would like Michigan to be a role model for other states and take this issue across the country!

  • Second Amendment Friendly Gun Control
Gun violence is a result of the wrong people owning guns or of people without proper training and regard for weapons owning them. Making it a requirement of gun ownership to belong to a well regulated militia, as mentioned in the Second Amendment, would provide a means to ensure that neither of the above conditions occur.

  • Making An Age Limit On The Baby Pool Area Of The Hasson Pool.
My children have been affected by older children, too old to be in a baby pool, being splashed, pushed, and scared to enter the water due to older children running into the baby pool section, without regard for the younger children and babies. This has not just happened to me, but to many other parents' children, and no lifeguards have seemed to care to do anything about any of these issues.

  • Stop Tree Ordinance in Huntington Woods
I would like the city to limit the Tree Ordinance to public property until a vote/more debate can be had about private property trees. There is concern that this ordinance was misrepresented and/or misunderstood.

  • 23andMe DNA Relatives feature settings should be set to "Public Match" by default
I'm an adult adoptee who took the DNA test with 23andMe last year in hopes to find more information about my family tree and possibly locate my birth family. But every time I get a new match (like a 2nd or 3rd cousin, or even 4th cousins), it's like I hit a brick wall! Most of the time, they have their settings set on private just because they never bothered to adjust them, so most of my DNA cousins remain anonymous or have their box not to accept sharing genome info clicked by default. So unless someone goes into their account settings and change the settings, their profiles remain invisible to ALL the members of 23andMe by default. That is really frustrating for a lot of adoptees and even a huge number of non-adoptees who are interested in filling those gaps in their family history. 23andMe already has the blocking feature for unwanted contacts! My petition is to make public match the default feature! Off course we can always change our settings to private at will. That will not change and should not change!
