DSI Renal DENIES Domestic Partner BenefitsEmployees working for DSI Renal, including myself, cannot extend medical coverage to their families if they are in same sex relationships or unmarried life partners (same sex or opposite sex) if their state does not require companies to do so. Health care coverage can mean the difference between life and death, between financial stability or bankruptcy. "The HRC's The State of the Workplace report found that nearly 51 percent of Fortune 500 companies are providing benefits to employees' same-sex domestic partners in 2006. The number of Fortune 500 companies offering domestic-partner benefits increased from 246 in 2005 to 253 in 2006, according to the report. Eighty-six percent of Fortune 500 companies also include sexual orientation in their non-discrimination policy, according to the report. The report also noted that seven states prohibit discrimination in private sector employment on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity -- California, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, New Mexico, Rhode Island and Washington, plus the District of Columbia. Ten additional states ban workplace discrimination on sexual orientation. The HRC is an advocacy group for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. You can find out more about the report at the HRC's website." Indiana: Tell the EPA to ban bee-killing pesticidesEurope has already fought back against powerful chemical companies and took a big step to protect bees by putting into effect a ban of the top bee-killing “neonic” pesticides. Now it’s our turn! Join Friends of the Earth and our allies in demanding that the EPA take immediate action to protect bees! Bees are critical in producing the majority of our food crops and the evidence is mounting that Bayer and Syngenta’s pesticides are a key contributor to mass bee die-offs. However, the EPA continues to ignore scientists -- even those employed by the EPA -- and has delayed action until 2018. But the bees can’t wait -- and neither can we! U.S. beekeepers have been consistently losing 40-100 percent of their hives. This winter, beekeepers are likely facing yet another season of historic bee die offs. We can’t let the EPA wait another five years to address this crisis. Please take action today and tell the EPA to ban bee-killing pesticides.2,758 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Peter Stocker

Why Not Power All of Northern Ohio With the WindI'm starting this petition because my idea may seem like a dream, but it is not so whimsical as to be an unrealistic undertaking . Some invested interests can pipe crude, dirty stuff from Canada to Texas. How many of us are interested in having clean energy and living pollution free?4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kenneth Ferenchak

SAVE JOHN MCDONOGH HIGH SCHOOLThe Recovery School District has had over 8 years to transform John McDonogh High School into a high performing high school. Instead, the RSD intentionally starved the school of needed leadership and resources. They tried to give the building to a local charter operator, then they tried to close the school, then they brought in the disastrous out-of-town charter operator Future is Now. Future is Now was so bad that they have abruptly closed the school. They are promising to redesign and rebuild the historic building, but they won't commit to ensuring that the school reopens as John McDonogh High School, and they won't meet with the community to provide answers about the closure of the school. We need your signature to let John White, Patrick Dobard, the RSD and the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education know that the community is tired of broken promises and disrespect. We won't go away and we want answers now.496 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Ann Marie Coviello

Drop Charges Against Whistleblower Who Exposed Government CorruptionTaxicab Authority Investigator Joe Morgan exposed local government corruption between the Nevada Taxicab Authority and taxicab companies and now the Attorney General's Office has pressed charges on Investigator Morgan! Joe should not be facing charges for doing his job and exposing government corruption that harms the public. Joe needs your support-- please sign the petition to drop the charges against Investigator Joe Morgan! _________________________________________________________ "My husband, Joe Morgan, who is an Investigator with the Nevada Taxicab Authority, exposed corruption within the agency. The chief Investigator, Ruben Aquino, failed to disconnect a call with my husband on his cell phone. The conversation that took place between Aquino and Investigator Chris Rivers exposed corruption within the agency. Chief Aquino and Investigator Rivers discussed how the cab companies run the Taxicab Authority and how investigators can’t be heavy handed because the cab companies can’t get employees and they won’t be able to make money. You read correctly, the head law enforcement officer for the police agency that regulates the cab industry was caught discussing with another investigator that the cab companies run the police agency. Joe Morgan exposed this corruption and now he is being charged by the Attorney General’s Office, under the office of Catherine Cortez Masto. The Senior Deputy Attorney General, Jamie J. Resch, is prosecuting Joe Morgan for interception of a wire communication and surreptitious intrusion of privacy by listening device. Even though the conversation took place with cell phones, the Attorney General is arguing that this is wire communication. Their argument is since wires run to a cell tower; then a cell phone is wired communication. So according to the Attorney General’s Office logic, since wires run to a wireless router it is not wireless it is actually wired. Additionally the charge of surreptitious intrusion of privacy by listening device is used for “bugs,” devices placed in a specific location that listens to a private conversation. Again, according to the Attorney General’s Office, if someone has ever “butt dialed” or “pocket dialed” you and you listened to the conversation; you are guilty of a felony punishable by at least a year in prison. The Attorney General’s Office is using its power and unlimited tax payers’ dollars to make up bogus charges to come after and silence Joe Morgan. Joe Morgan has always enjoyed helping people. While still in high school he was a volunteer fireman and certified EMT. He is a disabled Military Veteran who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He wanted to continue helping people and became a police officer. Joe Morgan is a father and sole provider of 4 children with his 5th due in July. He teaches and encourages his kids to do the right things. He should not be charged criminally for exposing corruption within an agency that is rotten to the core. At this point he stands to lose his veteran’s benefits he worked so hard to earn. There was a complaint filed against the Chief Aquino, and the Attorney General’s Office conveniently lost the complaint. Instead of Chief Aquino and Investigator Rivers being punished for discussing confidential information about an internal investigation; they came after my husband. Please tell the Attorney General’s Office to stop wasting tax payers’ dollars prosecuting a man who exposed corruption and fix the issues plaguing the Taxicab Authority. We need to stand up and show the Attorney General’s Office that we as Americans are sick and tired of government corruption. Let’s show we will not idly sit by and let the government whether state or federal squash hard working honest Americans into the ground when they speak up against government corruption. Please support Joe Morgan, who stood up against big government and tell the Attorney General’s Office we have had enough! Please sign this petition and stand for liberty." - Thank you, Teresa Morgan _______________________________________________________ MEDIA: http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/taxicab-authority-officers-say-they-re-not-allowed-fully-enforce-law The Nevada Taxicab Authority’s officers could do a better job enforcing laws regulating the taxi industry if only they were allowed to do so, according to two authority investigators. http://www.mynews3.com/content/news/story/Taxicab-Authority-investigator-accused-of/ADl3AbRbHUigFdGjWAEw4Q.cspx792 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Shannon Gould
