• Open Plum Island, MA, Beach
After an endangered species makes a good return, the shoreline should be open for the enjoyment and unique sense of peace obtained from communion with our nation's natural resources. In addition, revenue generated may create teen lifeguard/stewardship jobs and funding for other local efforts and community events. Thank you for your consideration.

  • Civics for All!!! Support this Seattle K-12 Civics Initiative now!
The Civics for All Initiative would lift civics requirements in the Seattle Public Schools (SPS)and thereby lift students' civic awareness and engagement. Currently, K-12 students in Seattle know little about civics, about how government works and about their rights and duties as citizens. This is because Seattle's civics education requirements are embarrassingly small. Support for Civics for All has been enormous but the school district has so far shown little interest in this three-year-old proposal. We need you to help convince them! Thanks! • Request for a Flood Prevention Forum for the Northwest Side
We are starting this petition, because our plea for effective and broad preventive flood measures needs to be taken seriously and requires immediate response. Our community has gone through multiple floods, which are becoming more frequent, requiring us to repeatedly spend thousands of dollars on undoing the flood damage. We cannot sustain such reactive actions, all while we are simultaneously dealing with ever increasing taxes and decreasing incomes.

  • STOP CHEMTRAILS NOW!!!
Yes, I have been personally affected by CHEMTRAILS. So has EVERYONE ELSE in the United States. If one is a walking, talking, breathing, human being, one has been personally affected. THERE IS NO ESCAPE! This diabolical scheme requires millions or billions or trillions of dollars, and, as such, is probably funded by BIG WORLD BUSINESS and/or BIG WORLD GOVERNMENT. The chemtrails MUST be stopped, AND THEY MUST BE STOPPED NOW! Thank you.

  • Durbin: Help Stop Transfer of MANPADS to Syria
On June 19, the House took an important step by prohibiting the transfer of MANPADS to actors in Syria. [1] House passage of the Conyers-Yoho-Welch-Amash-Grayson-DesJarlais-Nolan amendment showed that Members of the House understood that these are particularly dangerous weapons due to the possibility that they could be used by terrorists against civil aviation in Israel and elsewhere. [2] [3] [4] Recent events in Iraq have shown that there is no border separating Sunni insurgents fighting the government of Syria from Sunni insurgents fighting the government of Iraq, nor any boundary between different groups of Sunni insurgents. Illinois Senator Dick Durbin is in a unique position as Chair of the Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. He could ensure that the House provision becomes law by including it in the Senate’s Defense Appropriation. References: 1. • Petition for timely financial aid refund disbursement at Seminole State College
Every semester it is the same thing. Students begging for information regarding their student loan and federal Pell Grant refunds. We are told inconsistencies and flat-out lies by the administration of this school. This needs to stop. Having attended another college in Florida, I know that this problem is isolated to Seminole State College.

  • Expose the NRA (National Rifle Association), for inciting domestic terrorism in the United States...
Aren't we all tired of these mass shootings &, those who are truly responsible walking away free? Join me by signing this petition to President Obama to set up a commission to investigate the NRA exposing the money trail through the lobbyists they send to Washington with cash to burn selling out America’s safety so weapons manufacturers can make money off of the blood of America’s children. If we don't protect our children, who will?

  • Fireworks, short term celebration, long term public nuisance
The time of year that I and many, many others might enjoy the most has now become an any night, any time, selfish invasion of explosions and pyrotechnics. People with rudely awakened and scared kids, terrified and trembling pets in need of medication, elderly and/or people battling illnesses who need their rest, veterans with PTSD, and fire dangers all deserve better consideration. A common sense solution for a lack-of-common-courtesy problem.

  • Don't let Governor 1% Squash the Middle Class
For 5 years now Governor Christie has cut taxes for the rich at the same time he cut services for the rest of us. The result is soaring deficits, reduced credit ratings, and un-employment higher than New York, Pennsylvania, and 40 other states. It is time to reverse course and ask those who have profited most by his policies to help those who have been hurt.
