I work as a residential counselor at a group home in Ithaca, NY for adults suffering from mental illness. Despite the emotionally taxing and skilled nature of this work, I am still earning under $11 per hour. This makes it very difficult to survive and maintain a decent standard of living in Ithaca, especially considering the hefty student loan payments that have been a constant financial pressure since completion of my undergraduate education at Cornell (education which, by the way, was necessary for me to gain my current employment in the mental health field). This issue is not at all unique to my situation, I'm constantly hearing fellow Ithacans vent about how difficult it is to make ends meet in this beautiful city despite working full-time. Please consider signing this petition to ensure fair living wages for all citizens of Ithaca.

I find it appalling that we do not have an appropriate minimum wage in this state to reflect the times. We need to raise the minimum wag to at least $10.00 -per hour so that hard working people can support their families

people have no choice but to be on food stamp assistance because the minimum wage here in NH is too low. I am someone who is on assistance because minimum wage jobs here are $7.25 an hour and that just isn't enough to be free of being on assistance.

Our current state minimum wage is $7.95, and tipped minimum wage is $3.98. Everyone deserves an economy that works for them, not just those who are wealthy, well-connected, or both. Join me in calling upon our state legislature and governor John Kasich to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 and hour, and the tipped minimum wage to $6.25 an hour. If enough of us come together, it may be raised even higher. All we can do is use our voices, let your voice be heard.

PHS is putting on the up and coming production of "West Side Story." As you can imagine, as with any musical, this is a tremendous undertaking. However, tragically, there are not costume or prop departments,so all things are left to the students to do and this creates unneeded stress on them while they are busy trying to perfect lines. There apparently was enough money to build a showcase glass for athletes and their achievements in the New Gymnasium but when it comes to the theater, we are constantly lacking. This is nothing short of a great inconvenience to say the least and it needs to be addressed at once.

RAISE THE MINIMUM WAGE TO A MAXIMUM WAGE!

21 states have already voted to increase the minimum wage. It's time for Oklahoma to catch up with the times and move forward. College graduates and hard working Oklahomans work minimum wage jobs just to scrape by. Pay these people a better wage for their efforts and reward your most valuable resource: people.
