Because, We as Americans need all the breaks not corporate America. High fuel cost, higher living expense but no income raise!

I'm tired of seeing false austerity and corporate greed imploding the economy. We're not broke - we're being robbed blind.

Due to the terrible economic conditions of the last 7 years, I have been unemployed or underemployed more than I have been working a good, decent, job above the minimum wage.

Raise the minimum wage now. This needs to happen because people can't work three jobs to live. It would keep them out of their homes, away from children and supervision, and just encourage crime in the neighborhoods. It is the right thing to do.

I am an unemployed 61 year old female with three college degrees. Since November 2013 when I suffered another job layoff, I have been unable to find work in Dallas or Denton County. Countless job applications and several interviews, for which I was highly qualified, fell on deaf ears of these employers, who will not hire me because I am over 50. AGE DISCRIMINATION is disenfranchising elderly women at an alarming rate as well as younger women and their ability to not only support themselves and their children but to live the AMERICAN DREAM!

Our form of government only works if the mass earn enough to spend in order to churn the economy!

When the Republican controlled Florida House and Senate voted to deny Medicaid expansion, they chose a death sentence for many! Harvard and other studies show over 45,000 Americans die every year because of lack of affordable health care and insurance to prevent bankruptcy if they choose medicine or treatment to live. Educators, for example, constantly see the impact of poor legislative decisions and know many of their students cannot function effectively when they are hungry, ill or worried about being homeless or their parents being out of work. Citizens can read about, if they do not know personally, people who die or become victims of treatable and curable conditions because they either do not have insurance or access to affordable health care. Our brave veterans who have been disabled protecting us are often in greatest need of medical care and economic assistance. Republicans who vote against their own citizens should be replaced by caring, compassionate, humans who will make the best decisions to help eliminate poverty and provide adequate health care for all!

250 UPS drivers being fired employees of the United Parcel Service (UPS) walked off the job for 90 minutes in February to protest the firing of one of their coworkers, Jairo Reyes. Reyes had driven for the company for over 20 years.

North Carolina current minimum wage is $7.25 hour. That is not enough for anyone to live on.We deserve a growing economy that works for all Americans, not just the wealthy.Join with me in calling on the state legislatures to pass legislation to raise minimum wage to at least $10.10 hour . (or higher! )

I have two college degrees and two accompanying technical certificates and can not get a decent paying position. I know from personal experience that minimum wage is too low and employers will only pay the levels that are mandated. We need a minimum wage that is at least 2-5% above the actual cost of living and it needs to stay at that level.
