"About 1 in 68 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) according to estimates from CDC's Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network." Autism can be a highly debilitating condition and there are virtually no known effective treatments. Cannabis has therapeutic and palliative relief for the traditional symptoms and conditions associated with autism (particularly strains with high levels of CBD present). Parents and guardians should be protected in their choice to treat their loved ones with cannabis. In order for those who choose this option of treatment to have protections under the law in medical cannabis States it is imperative that autism be added to the list of conditions (e.g., epilepsy, spasms, chronic pain, etc.) so that physicians may legally authorize the use of cannabis in treating autism. Parents along with experts intend to give testimony before Medical Marijuana Review Panels in MI (and hopefully in other States) to demand that autism be added as a qualifying condition! We are calling for the protection of families and physicians under medical cannabis laws in order to utilize cannabis as a treatment option for severe cases of autism! One such parent includes Lisa Christine from Belleville, MI: “Making the decision to use Cannabis to treat Noah’s Autism and Dravet Syndrome was not a decision that was made in haste... Noah has made great strides over the past few months since he began using Cannabis... We’ve managed to wean him off all but one medication used for seizure control and he no longer relies on behavior medications to help control or stabilize his behaviors, as he no longer exhibits aggressive or self injurious tendencies.” Parents aren’t alone in this effort. Dr. Harry Chugani, the head of Pediatric Neurology at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, has specialized in autism for over 20 years and also intends to give testimony before the Medical Marihuana Review Panel in Michigan. Dr. Chugani “supports the approval of cannabis to treat difficult externalizing behaviors seen in autism and protections for the patients, parents, guardians, and caregivers assisting those patients." Other national and local physicians continue to endorse this effort including Dr. Lester Grinspoon, who is an Associate Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Grinspoon was senior psychiatrist at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center in Boston for 40 years and is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Grinspoon intends on providing testimony in regard to the relative safety of cannabis. To make sure she is held accountable for the lost of life and injuries to others because of her actions.

I work and attend the University of Southern Mississippi... last year I made approximately fourteen thousand dollars; too much for Medicaid and not enough to qualify for subsidies through the ACA. I am not alone, approximately 300,000 people in the state of Mississippi are working poor. We do not want a "hand-out," we are working people who need help.

As an African American woman, I am so sick and tired of these hateful, disrespectful, demoralizing comments. I recently saw the movie "42 - The Jackie Robinson Story." Don Sterling is no different from the racist fans that shouted insults at Jackie Robinson. As someone who grew up during that time it saddens me that we are still fighting this hatred today.

Unemployment stinks.

This legal fraud has caused the loss of over 3 Trillion Dollars in Federal Taxes over the last decade alone. If we close the loophole(s) that allow this fraud, the U.S. Government will collect an additional 300 Billion Dollars per year. There are so many worthwhile projects that could be funded, such as helping the Vets, increasing funding for Schools, and putting people back to work rebuilding our roads, bridges and schools.

Frustration. Is it all about money, or also reminding people of the importance of voting during an election that gets little turn-out?

The Berkeley City Council's new redistricting map, voted in by a 6-3 vote, was quickly overturned by a popular referendum – Berkeley citizens were unhappy that it split neighborhoods, divided UC Berkeley students along conservative and progressive lines, and made it very likely that one of the few *truly* progressive Council members we have would *not* be re-elected. Now the Council majority (those in favor of the new map) is trying to enforce its will by hiring a private law firm to sue its citizens and other members of the City Council and city staff. This is not how democracy is supposed to work, especially in a town like Berkeley! Find an acceptable compromise map, and don’t make citizens who are participating in the democratic process pay wasteful legal fees.

I am 77 years old, hold both a BFA & MFA (at Yale) and now augment my wife's teacher's salary by finding and completing small masonry jobs: steps, landing, patios, etc. We barely meet our mortgage, fill the fridge for family meals. If I find pride in doing excellent masonry at bargain prices....how much more satisfaction I'd have, say, repairing paths in our National Park System.... or restoring decaying murals in a post office or public building. Or using lifelong photographer skills to document this program. Bringing back the shining glory of America... something all races and all ages can work toward. WPA for TODAY

To think Donald Sterling will be allowed to host more Clipper games that have a majority of black players is beyond disbelief. This petition is directed at the administration in Hutto Independent School District. It is in regards to the retaliatory tactics being used to wrongfully accuse a family of participating in a child's truancy. These are false accusations based on the fact that the child was in attendance for the days in question. Brandy Baker assured this family upon their request that the child would not participate in STAAR testing, or any STAAR related materials. Only to enroll him in "tutorials" directly related to STAAR testing. The child in question was also led to believe by the administration at Hutto High School, that he did not have to attend. However he was counted absent 14 times continuously, and was marked as absent for 14 full days. While his attendance records show he was in all of his other classes for that day. The absent count at the bottom of the sheet clearly states "days unexcused". In addition, after this family officially removed the children from school, the administration including but not limited to Roy Christian, at Farley Middle School continues to count that child as absent as well. These are obvious retaliatory measures being conducted by Hutto ISD in general. Please stop the manipulation of these records and the false accusation of families involved. And we also ask that the Judge in the Truancy Court take this issue into consideration. This is unbelievable behavior from our children's educators and has forced parents to remove their children from school permanently, opting for home schooling. Your honor we would like these manipulations investigated, and all parties involved to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Falsifying a state document in the State of Texas is a Third Degree Felony, and we expect nothing less than prosecution for these charges. We also request that the families presented before you, with obvious records manipulations, be relieved of all charges and penalties as they stand falsely accused due to the records manipulation.

I believe only high school students should be allowed to participate in high school sponsored activities. Our children are forced to grow up way too fast and allowing a middle school student to participate in high school activities is just more exposure to children being allowed to participate in non age-appropriate activities. Also, why should a 7th grader be able to play high school sports for 6 years? Middle School children will be given their chance to compete for positions in high school when they are IN HIGH SCHOOL. Until then, the spots should be given only to students that are enrolled IN THAT SCHOOL! It is not fair to the students who want to show spirit and participate in their school's program and activities that the spots are given to children not enrolled in that school. If they want to participate in these programs they should do so at their school with children their age.
