When Rhiannon Broschat told her co-workers what happened, they walked off the job with her to strike in protest. Now it's up to us to have their back and demand Whole Foods give Rhiannon her job back and change its policies so no employee has to choose between a sick child and a paycheck. As Rhiannon fearlessly told reporters, "I'm not going to choose my job over my son." But right now, that choice is costing her family the income they depend on. Rhiannon's story has been all over the news in Chicago, but still, Whole Foods has refused to back down. Tomorrow, supporters in Chicago are planning a huge protest. If we all speak out right now, as the protest plans are hitting the news, we'll create a media firestorm in the national press and convince them to do the right thing--or face a publicity nightmare. New York has the worst income inequality in the nation--- that’s more than 3 million men and women who are working hard, playing by the rules, and still living in poverty. Part of the problem is the state’s woefully inadequate minimum wage. Especially in high cost areas like New York City, $8 / hour just isn’t enough to pay the bills, much less save for a brighter future. That’s why Albany should allow cities and counties to supplement the state minimum wage, so it more realistically reflects each area’s cost of living.

(New Braunfels, TX) -- New Braunfels City Council met last night and not only approved a $5 park access fee for summertime tourists, but they tacked on a $2 fee for residents. It’s not a done deal yet, with a 2nd reading to come at their next meeting, but Council made it clear that they want both visitors and residents to help pay for trash pick-up and law enforcement. As requested by Council, and in an effort to make the upkeep of river activities more cost-neutral, City staff has been looking at a number of ways to have those who use the parks and rivers pay part of the bills. The River Stakeholders Group (made up of local tourism experts) did recommend that Council approve a park entrance fee for visitors, but they also recommended that they make it free for residents. City Council had a different idea last night, tacking on a $2 fee for local residents to enter the park on summer weekends and holidays, an idea that was ultimately approved on first reading. With the next gen consoles with such power, it is yet simple to now port pc samples into the next gen consoles. With so much proof that is coming out, showing how curiosity raises every day, we think think twice if it would be coming out whatsoever. after hours of taking many procedures, such as talking to rockstar support, and amazon, i am really getting sick of it. them saying that it does not have enough players on next gen is true but not will be true forever. studies show that numbers tripled over the past 3 months on only next gen consoles. it hit 10 million consoles, considering xbox one and ps4, in the first 2 months whatsoever, plus the pc. i just hope this is true because with next gen, they can improve so many things we can not even think of! and for damn sure by march-april, it would hit 20-30 million consoles plus pc, and the gta5 was around the corner from next gen at september 17. so will you sign this petition to show the truth?

The state of California needs a long-term strategy to supply metro areas with an ongoing need for water for municipal purposes. The reservoirs of the northern part of the state should be preserved for agricultural use, recreational uses like fishing and boating. The state's history of wet and dry cycles is well documented and not likely to change. Therefore the time to act is now.

On February 3, a Duke Energy coal ash pond ruptured—spilling more than 80,000 tons of coal ash into North Carolina’s Dan River. That’s enough toxic sludge to fill 73 Olympic-sized pools. In the past year, three Clean Water Act lawsuits were filed against Duke Energy—and each time, the North Carolina Department of the Environment and Natural Resources blocked any federal enforcement by intervening to craft a toothless “settlement.” It’s no wonder. North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory worked at Duke Energy for 28 years. Sign our petition to Gov. McCrory: Stop protecting polluters and poisoning your own people.
